How? I have only been to chat twice my entire time here. Both times I closed the chat box of my own choice. Both times I was on was during ATS Live several weeks ago. I received no notification of being chat banned either....
How do I get banned from it when I used to never even use it??

I used to get that as well.
I updated flash and everything works fine now.

Several days ago I was trying to enter chat the same day the changes started. Skeptic Overlord said HE could see me enter chat, but I only saw a gray screen. Besides, he didn't say anything about me being banned from it...

Adobe flash website, I guess?

eta: Went to update flash. It said I had latest, but I just re-installed it anyway. Came back tried to access chat again, same gray blank screen.

Would my browser have anything to do with it? I use Opera 10.62 .

There is your problem. I've never been able to enter chat using opera.

Thanks for the answer Sinter Klaas. Oh well. I'm not going to change browsers just to chat during ATS Live once a week. Mystery solved. Thanks again.

The other day I logged out of ATS. Today I was already logged in. I figured I had only thought I had logged out.

However, today I logged as well about a few hours ago. I saw it clearly where it said log in. Then when I returned to check the latest posts I noticed I was already logged in.

Is there a glitch with the system or has anyone else noticed this happening?

BTW, I always leave a window open with ATS to check updated posts from time to time.

edited for new observation.

I logged out and it logged me out. But I noticed when I hit recent posts once I logged out it goes to recent posts and I am already logged in.

I can confirm that, I also use Opera and the chat window doesn't show a thing but we are logged on to the chat room.

I have a problem...

ATS looks too cool for me now...I used to have visitors catch me on my computer and get away with saying lies like-

"Oh, its just a boring news site, yknow, nothing cool or anything snazy".

But now they can obviously SEE its a mega-awesome super-site...

Guys...you are going to make this site even more famous, and all of my friends (all three of them) are going to make the connection..."I am a conspiracy theorist, and I am in love with ATS"


Perhaps an option to click when people walk in my house? Something that just makes the site look bland?

Springer answered that one just recently.

Your cookie gets refreshed or renewed and that causes you to be logged off. Something like that.

Sorry to make a nuisance of myself again, but all the links "My Three Most Recent Threads" and "My Favorite Threads" in my profile all go to the 404 page. They haven't been removed because I can still access them from elsewhere. Just thought I'd point it out.

Same issue...

This thread shows a 404 page error when accessed via the link in my profile, yet works fine in the forum it resides in.

It looks to be related only with BTS threads ... maybe the guy upstairs is tinkering with integration stuff.

eta: the two of you are still showing as 'offline' for some reason ... perhaps you don't exist.

If so, it's only recent BTS threads (in my case, that is). I checked all the BTS threads I've started (through my profile links) and all of them direct back to the BTS forums they live in, except for the very recent one started within the week.

Anyway, it's just a head's up that something is amiss...

WhooHoo - surfing incognito, style!

One thing I don't like is that, when I'm in BTS and hit recent posts, it sends me to the ATS recent posts page and I have to hit the BTS tab again to see the BTS recent posts.

With my slow internet connection, this can take hours (OK, I'm exaggerating but, only a little).

Is there some way I can go strait to the BTS recent posts when I hit "recent posts" in BTS?
