Armed civilians will always do better work than the military.

I very seriously doubt the Iraqi civilians share your view of American contract civilians that came to their nation to make war by US policy.

Somehow..I think they really didn't come to see Blackwater thugs as anything close to 'good guys'. Personally, neither do I.

Sir I can assure you at no point in my life have I ever been anything close to a thug nor will I be.....

It is annoying when people who never left their couch judge people they have no real knowledge of.

I'll agree to disagree with respect, given the context. I don't particularly condemn every contractor in the world for the actions of one or in one place, either. My opinion is formed primarily out of reading non-fiction about PMC's in Iraq and Blackwater in particular. Their deployment of people to Katrina was also very informative to read about if it's anything like what can be expected for no-notice movement of PMC's domestically.

It is an opinion (mine) formed from reading, not doing though, in what it's worth for this.

black-water is the obvious solution to an army filled with lazy/fat morons looking for college money - watch any combat footage you like of regular enlisted men, standing around on the top of a hill in broad daylight with there arms just dangling in the breeze waiting to catch gunfire...

There are obviously some great soldiers and many of them go to work for companies like blackwater because the military,it's missions and most of it's efforts really are a cluster and who wants to be a target dummy looking for invisible weapons in Iraq for minimum wage? There track record for missions is infinitely better than enlisted men and that's why they continue, not because the worship at stonehenge covered in goats blood.

Also as many hundreds of thousands of men, women and younger people around the world know - they teach many of the same skills for self defense to anyone who can pay for it regardless of most things, the ultimate form of democratic capitalism.

My favorite part of the company is that they are under no pressure by limp wrist-ed politicians to place an under qualified 25 year old desk hardened female as battalion commander of jack #, unless she's earned it facing the same standards as the next guy.

Saw the book years ago and had to snag it. It was a great read, and when I snagged it not many people had heard of it, this is such a long thread and I just stumbled on it so I hope I'm not repeating but if you like his book than you have to check out his documentary Dirty Wars. I'm sure someone said it but I won't take that chance Haha.

Whether someone has said it or not it's fine.

Dirty Wars: The World Is a Battlefield

Haven't seen the documentary but I've read a book on that which is probably linked.

Star you for you for posting the suggestion.

Yes, long thread indeed, loved every minute of writing it too.

Awesome post. You mentioned how politicians in high office do things like this which erode individual freedom. That being said, have you considered how millions of average individuals contribute to their own demise through political apathy? We always get the complaints about bad leadership in Washington, but never talk about the acquiescence of sovereignty by the masses. I think one good example is how corporations and business owners are concerned about their own interests enough to choose their politicians, while the people merely vote for them.

I applaud you for reading and sharing the information in the book. We need more posts like this one.

People BETTER be paying attention to this company, because when the sh** hits the fan, they will likely be at the head of the class in cracking down on domestic dissent, and they don't have to play by the rules of law, just like our ruthless gov does not. Only these guys are mercs and killers.

I saw where they were recently denied a training camp in so-cal---Thank heavens for that.

These guys are bad news, big time.

So that's where you went. Damn.

I figure these are the guize who'll find that dildo under the floorboards, after they got a hit on the stashed flash drives you saved, with political and ideological material, while 'looking for kiddie porn', in the privacy of your bedroom, all based on an 'anonymous tip', but who are professional enough to not try to humiliate ya just because they can. And unless you're in Russia, they probably won't care too much about the dildo except to determine it's forensic existential history (leads). And to look for flash drives that might have fallen inside it.

Remember this: Although no one ever died over a dildo (results pending of course), for some reason, folks are getting awfully hot and bothered about their government. And the best way to stanch this fever is with a quick download, and AI summary, of the suspect's political inclinations.

That's why Blackwater is better suited. Our cops have become sloppy, wan killers. They're used to looking either for the major perp, or, for the petty stuff: the drugs, jaywalkers who don't listen; or for simple cash confiscation (robbery) when they find 'a large sum of cash', during traffic checks. Once they find it, they're just ornery and authoritative. If you cross them, they just shoot you now. How can we expect these guise to make the same hard decisions when they involve confiscating a person's ideology, and not simply by looking at their race, wealth demographic, or gender manifestations? What good is another handcuffed and arrested corpse, if they can't even sit up straight for the water boarding to burble about the NWO, or the Methane Crisis we humans are presently dying from, or to spurt their climate change denial bluster, and with their last breath!?

Don't believe in global warming, HUH!!! Maybe this will convince ya!

If we are dead, then they cannot reform us.
They cannot use us as an example for others to become good and moral and lovers of Amerika again.
And it's leaders. God Bless Amerika they never had it so good.
They all came, to look for Amerika and they found they never had it so good.

They cannot count on enough wars to get the NWO done right.
They need to borrow the worst of every nation and every regime.
Blackwater is purr-fect for this. Slow steady terror in every home. Better than blitzkrieg.

We cannot sit on our laurels and rely solely on the police. We are, a Democratic Republic, after all.

And, through the electoral process, the people have spoken.

Because right now, look it all of the police who have sloppily killed simply because they're hung over. Dogs, Aspie youth and Adult Aspie leaders alike; dogs dogs and more dogs; anyone who says so much as "Wha?" Homeless guy in mountains because he had a knife. Kids who don't drop the bb gun, or screwdriver, fast enough; an unarmed guy who may have stole something at Target who was trying to walk away from cops, shot dozens of times, on the steps of Long Beach; the artist with the carving knife; an old dude with a cane, someone watering their lawn with a water gun…all dead because we didn't try to implement this sooner. They have the money, they have the equipment, they have the training, but none of that's enough. They do NOT have the desire to perform as real professionals.

Worse part…right now, the persons in Mom's Basement, these are the ones who are prone to Isis sympathizing, that is, when they're not crashing planes, are finding better and ever more ingenious methods to disguise (hide) their flash drives against imminent search and confiscation. Using the internet, they are reaching out to others like themselves, and sharing secrets on how to hide flash drives. WHY are they sharing secrets about hiding flash drives, when everyone else is acting all normal about their data? WHAT have they got, to hide?. This is the source of much heat over at Utah. The servers are constantly shuffling data around, worried about how to manage and store everything, when we should be shuttling persons to helpful institutional avenues; persons, who are, by being unsupervised at times, creating quite a strain on our democracy! Blackwater technology could solve all of this!

Although our friends, the LEOs, have been given dogs with special training, and guide manuals to flush the data storage materials out, can they handle, mentally process, what they find? Look how they freak out about a jaywalker, or act all bossy at mundane traffic stops till someone dies and then gets cuffed. Do you really think that LEOs are capable of scraping up the toxo plasmotic insurrectional goo that's fallen out of diseased ears, and working it into a dossier on, these hard psych cases? Somebody's going to have to round these domestic combatants up, and brand them once and for all. If we cannot trust a Mom's Basement Dweller with a license to pilot aircraft, I do not suppose they can be trusted with political materials either. I do not believe for even a second, that LEO's are capable of political, ideological, and nutcase criminal administration.

But this is what Blackwater specializes in. This is exactly what we pay them to do.

We asked for it. First we asked for the Laws

and

Law Enforcement Officers-those merry men and women who simply do whatever the laws say,
whichever way the wind is blowing, and for a price.

The laws have changed, so must the methods of achieving justice.

We want fair application of the laws, after all. WE ARE A NATION OF LAW!

Stay Alive, for The Trial. Justice is Justice, no matter who serves it, right?

Blackwater is the next big thing.

"This...is...Sparta!

It's Blackwater USA. Or is it Blackwater Worldwide?

No, it's Xe...wait, it's Academi...oh, screw it..."

Regardless of the investors or reasons they put forth, any organization that changes it's name, And, has a track record of mayhem, death, and destruction that they do, is trying to hide something. Each name change is a futile attempt to put as much distance between themselves and whatever knucklehead/incident that resulted in 'said' name change.

Fun Facts-
*August 2010, the company agreed to pay a $42 million fine to settle allegations that it unlawfully provided armaments and
*January 30, 2009, the State Department told Blackwater Worldwide that it will not renew its contract in Iraq
*December 2008 a US State Department panel recommended that Xe should be dropped as the main private security contractor for U.S. diplomats in Iraq. However, in 2010 it was awarded a $100 million contract from the October 29, 2007, immunity from prosecution was granted by the U.S. State Department, delaying a criminal inquiry into the September 16 shootings of 17 Iraqi civilians
*January 31, 2010, three current and former U.S. government officials confirmed the Justice Department is investigating whether officials of Blackwater Worldwide tried to bribe Iraqi government officials in hopes of retaining the firm’s security work in Iraq after the shooting in Nisour Square in Baghdad, which left 17 Iraqis dead and stoked bitter resentment against the United States. The officials said that the Justice Department’s fraud section opened the inquiry late in 2009 to determine whether Blackwater employees violated a federal law banning American corporations from paying bribes to foreign officials
*2012 the Department of Justice closed the investigation without filing any charges
*August 2012, the company agreed to pay $7.5 million in fines, without admitting guilt, to the US government to settle various charges involving pre-Academi personnel. Afterwards in February 2013, the majority of the remaining charges were dropped when it was shown that in many cases, the Blackwater employees had been acting under the orders of the US government

Is this the 'sought unwarranted influence' President Eisenhower so vehemently warned us about? I realize these facts are just a small snapshot of the organization, however, I'm not sure this is the type or organization I want my politicians, government, and military affiliated with. With facts like this, I'm not sure who's cast in the more negative light, our government or the mercenaries???

We certainly screwed some things up, but most of that was poor choices made by management in the hiring process of certain individuals. No big conspiracy theory there. There were several persons more concerned with playing playing cowboy that fulfilling there duties in a proper manner.

We'll see the extent of plausible deniability (liability) when US mercenaries are set afire in animal cages on You Tube. Black Water mercs are 'feckless turds' of the war bureaucracy, faltering when it comes to dealing with true reactionary forces like ISIS. The conservative leadership trajectory has pushed the US further into the abyss of petrol economics, irrational confrontation and international rebellion against its so-called superiority. American policy malfeasance makes Pres. Putin look like a saint. I would give serious consideration to voting for him if he were on the presidential ballot.

You are making a mistake if you think Blackwater "IS" the mercenary situation in the US.

It is the largest of a group. But there are a jillion little companies that provide "security." Blackwater may be available at the brigade level; but more than a couple score of brigades and they'd be over-extended. So they work "with" other mercs to arrive at a non-combat outcome, where everybody gets paid and nobody gets killed.

Weren't the founder's of Blackwater arrested for firearms violation in recent years?

The only thing I have heard about them were snipings of civilians, as perceived looters, in NO after Katrina or maybe that was the NOPD, not sure. Also, I saw a video some time ago, which showed them sniping Arab civilians indiscriminately from a rooftop. Their attitude was as if they were having a good time.

Another video from inside an HMMWV showed them hitting and running over an Arab woman crossing the road. They didn't even bother to slow down.

IMO, they are a screwed up organization.
