Thanks for the input everyone.

I'm especially glad to hear that politics aren't discussed. I had read that somewhere but was recently told (didn't believe) it was a GOP club.

Are there many young masons? Under 25?

very interesting i must say i thought in order to be a mason you must be a very wealthy person yet a genius as well with an iq above 140
all i know is that smartness exclude but cleverness includes thus mason prime objective is absolute control and power

Huh what? Last I checked the requirements were 160 IQ and either a Dynasty of Masons in the Family or minimum 2.5mill income a year.

When did we lower the standards?

I go with Masonic Light on this.

Though I will say this. I think it is past time that Masonry shrugged off it's lethargy and realized that what the United States of America stands for and what is great about it is being destroyed with almost no one seeming to stop it.

I think the prohibition on Politics in the Lodge needs to be lifted and discussion of what can be done to reverse the trend is needed.

BTW Not only the Jews and Gypsies were prosecuted and pushed under ground during Nazi Germany in the 30's and 40's. Masonry was outlawed as well. In Iraq under Hussein being a Mason brought about summary execution.

No the only requirements are that you must be of 18 years or older, and believe in a supreme being.

2B1ASK1 (To Be One…Ask One)

Membership is not hard to attain.

I’m 19 and have been a Freemason for a year and a half i became a mason one month after i turned 18. i have also gone through Scottish rite and became a Shriner as well. I also hold a position in my lodge.

my dad was 33rd degree Mason and worked for former President Eisenhower on his personal staff while he was still a general, was invited to work at the White house and refused the offer.....without going into great detail on a public forum (tho if anyone is interested you can email me) I can tell you that Masons are probably like any other group - good and bad eggs - however at the top echelons of power and wealth it ain't pretty...not pretty at all...anything goes and I mean ANYTHING....and criminals in high places protect each other from consequences if at all possible...so choosing whether this is a result of their Masonic brotherhood connection or simply a result of their shared interests as thieves ,pedophiles, murderers, I'd have to choose the latter - shared interests....

That does not speak to the question of a Masonic/Vatican connection & conspiracy and such like....and a free hospital for children is a gift beyond measure...

All I am sure of from personal experience is that where great power resides - corruption is not far away....

I'm not rich, but since I was a double-genius, they let me in anyway.

Actually, from my experience, smartassism is a definite qualification for Masonic membership.

Most Grand Lodges qualify the minimum age of Masonic initiation to be 18. Others have 19 or 21 as the minimum age.

it's that easy. people just don't want to see it. i can't change anyone's perception. I'm not here to tell you differently, just to say that membership requires 18+ and a belief in a Supreme Being. I'm 19 and have been a mason for little more over a year now and I'm not rich (trust me on that haha college books take a beating on the bank account). I have been to the Grand Lodge in U.K. and i think membership there is 21 or so i do not recall. other than that the age is the only different aspect to joining in the U.K. as is joining in the U.S.A.

no no you dont get the picture i have nothing against nobody the masons are or is a secret society that been pulling strings over the world in the shadows for a very longtime and if there s web site that gives membership to it that is not rational you dont have to prove anything neither i on my opinion its not rational
correct me if i missed something

What isn't "rational" is the notion that Freemasonry is some sort of secret society pulling strings behind the scenes. The fact of the matter is that Freemasonry is an international charitable and fraternal organization, and practically all of our internal Masonic organizations have websites.

Hey again.

I was wondering why it's nessecary to have such a difference in age gap between the U.S and U.K lodges - anything to do with educational placements perhaps?

Do you mean in the aspect of the age for membership?

or the age in the lodges presently?

for the age change in membership varies from state to state and of course in country. CA for instance is 18 to join as where other states might be 19 or 21. i guess it's just preference.
