Survey Reveals Vast Majority of Christians in All Key U.S. Denominations Believe They Have a "Moral and Biblical Obligation to Love and Support Israel and Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem"

www.breakingchristiannews.com

Teresa Neumann - Etgar Lefkovits - Jerusalem Post - (Apr 13, 2008)
(Washington, D.C)—According to a Joshua Fund survey, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates, more than 80 percent of American Christians believe they have a "moral and Biblical obligation" to "love and support" the State of Israel and pray for the peace of Jerusalem, with strong pro-Israeli convictions cutting across all key Christian denominations in the U.S. (Photo: Ariel Jerozolimski file)

True Christians Support Israel. It is a shame that many have become liberalized to the point they do not realized the moral imperative to fight for the cause of GOD's people. It is shameful to thos Christian nation that this percentage is so low. 80 percent is absolutely unacceptable. Please join me in prayer for the nation of Israel.

So your point? that you will die for Israel because you are a "Christian with a moral duty to the Chosen by God"?

Sounds like propaganda to me.

And this is not by any means Braking news perhaps a very interesting Conspiracy in Religion topic.

This survey is most certainly breaking news Mam. And it's a monkeys uncle of a travesty that it's only 80% of Christians supporting GODs own. There are more liberal "Christians" than Carters got liver pills out there.

Snoopy, President Bush has become way too liberalized for my taste. I do not understand why we have not employed our nuclear arsenal by this point to secure the middle east.

Please join me in signing this petition to support Israel.

I fear that you fail to see the difference between spiritual Israel, and the modern nation state called Israel. The former represents the Kingdom of God, while the latter is merely the most prominent tool in the beast’s arsenal. A tool that was inserted into modern ‘christianity’ long ago, about the same time as the ‘pre-trib rapture’ and which is likewise now used to control the masses.

Wow is this THE Jack Chick? How old is he?

Well I agree somewhat the comment the Christian church is "spiritual Israel". I think it is clear that God will always have a place in his heart for the Jewish people. Paul speaks of the need for us gentiles to be grafted onto the Jewish race. Which means we are an addition to it not a replacement. If this wasn't so then why did Paul speak of this need?

Jack I think the nuclear weapons comment is a little extreme.

I'll make you a deal...

You handle the praying for peace in Israel part, I'll take care of trying to get my pizza eaten. In a half hour, we'll see who's closer to their goal.

In the meantime, maybe you can explain how, if God has a plan already and is imperfect, praying to him is going to do the slightest silly thing to change His mind for what happens to some chunk of stolen land in the Middle East.

How about just praying for all the backwards ass Christian Fundamentalist that think Nuking anyone is some sort of "Christian duty"

You crazy people are the ones that give us "love everybody" Christian's a bad name. Can you pull out any scripture that has "Jesus" talking about wiping the "enemy" off the planet. (I said Jesus scripture not some old testament crap or some other Revelations opium induced quatrains.)

You sound like the opposite side of the Al Qauda coin.

My name is Jack Thomas Chick and I believe in Jesus Christ. That is all I need say. Now I happen to be privy to some inside sources you fellows may not. A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man dies but once son and we know that Iran is developing Nuclear weapons to attack Israel. Now son a stitch in time saves nine, so why not a premptive first strike. It is in accord with GODs plan.

The fleshly Jews in the days of the Apostles took great pride in their ability to trace their geneology back to Abraham. As if this somehow imputed righteousness or a favored position in Gods eyes.

Paul a Jew himself, but with Roman citizenship dispelled that notion.
The apostle Paul, in arguing that the Jews were mistaken in their pride of fleshly descent and in relying on the works of the Law to find favor with God, said:

“For he is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the outside upon the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one on the inside, and his circumcision is that of the heart by spirit, and not by a written code. The praise of that one comes, not from men, but from God.” (Ro 2:28, 29)

Here Paul, by a play on the meaning of the name Judah, shows that the real basis for praise from God is being a servant of God from the heart, by spirit. This argument parallels his reasoning in Romans chapter 4, that the true seed of Abraham are those with the faith of Abraham.

The Apostle Paul further points out that in the Christian congregation nationality is of no consequence, for “there is neither Jew nor Greek [Gentile].” (Ga 3:28)

The Greek Christians in Smyrna, the second of the seven Christian congregations in Asia Minor were praised for their faith.
The glorified Jesus Christ directed the apostle John to write a message to them to strengthen them.

in Rev 2:9 The resurrected Jesus Christ spoke to the congregation at Smyrna, comforting them with regard to the persecution they were receiving, to a great extent at the hands of the Jews, saying: “I know . . . the blasphemy by those who say they themselves are Jews, and yet they are not but are a synagogue of Satan.”—Re 2:9.

The modern day nation of Israel is a mere political entity on the same par with the rest of the corrupt governments. I guess I am one of the 20% who realize that the nation of Israel has holds no special position in the eyes of God.

I'm sorry to offend:

This is a propaganda piece. 80% of Christians. So, there saying that they asked all the Christians in America about this? I did an informal survey around me (And, NO I didn't ask what there response would have been) NONE of them got asked.

Maybe we need to reconsider what 'polls' are and WHY they are conducted.

There's an old lawyer adage I happen to be fond of applying regarding polls, never ask a question to which you don't know the answer. Find out the demographic data and suddenly it's not so clear about the generalization 'XXXX in America think ....'

I ask you this:

What is Israel? Please define it socially, then culturally, then from the Judeo-Christian framework, then from the Neo-Christian Framework, then from a political framework, then strictly historical. It's not a piece of land is it? Is it just a group of people, a heritage/genealogical grouping, genetics type?

Can you trust that all answered based on similar precepts, with equal premises?

Polls are for people who are trying to prove something. They WANT the result to say something very specific. In this case, I would go out on a limb and say that the pollsters want to pile a 'cultural meme' on top of the notion that America is a Christian nation (sorry - apparently every other belief system doesn't count or matter). Since they accept that America = Christian, if 80% of Christians support 'whatever Israel is assumed to be' the Americans support Israel.

Sorry, I don't buy it. I wouldn't be very surprised if it turned out that the Jewish Lobby had a hand in funding this poll (or at least publishing the results)

Count me among those who 'refute' this poll's findings.

You're seriously considering bringing logic and reason to a debate this silly? Well written post Maxmars, one of the most intelligent I've read to date. But such things are a bit out of place in a thread about nuking entire countries because it's "God's plan."

Better to provide counter-points such as this:

I've got two slices of pizza left. How many Iranians are we down to?

Well Iran is scary but I think you have a hair trigger there Jack. I think we are more likely to carpet bomb them under the guise of the nuclear program, the real reason is that they are selling oil in non US currency.

But really lets get back to Israel...

Lets analyze the source provider by the OP.

(Washington, D.C)—According to a Joshua Fund survey

The Joshua Fund is part of the Joel Rosenberg group, his Fund releases are exclusive polls for the support of Unconditional love toward Israel.

Yes is propaganda.

Are you the FORUM POLICE?? It's the FORUM FUZZ. Everybody WATCH OUT.

"Member news submissions and discussions covering alternative subjects such as UFO's, conspiracy theory, government secrets, and political scandals."

If this is a propaganda piece then consider it a scandal. If it is about a country then consider it political.

There is a difference between Spiritual Israel and Physical Israel as resistor said and there is also an Israel that will be one and the same.
