If you want to see proof of "GOD" I suggest you go to a hospital and check out the new born ward. That there is God's work, he has perfected each and every little present in that place.

If you still are not satisfied then go to a grocery store or hardware store that you can purchase seeds for vegetables and flowers. Plant them and take care of them, when they become fully healthy you will see that it was only someone or something truly divine that could of thought that whole process up with the beauty and pure awesomeness that occurs.

Still not convinced, well then I suggest as a final test go to a mountain range, or forest, or beach at sunrise and watch the sun come up. If you get a feeling of pure warmth in your heart then you are feeling what God intended. And that my friend is how you know that God exsits!

May I suggest beginning your rant Divinorus that every one is a golden calf loving liar probably wasn't the best course of dialogue. A less attacking and more civil approach would be much appreciated. I state nothing as 'fact'. God is love, peace, acceptance unconditional. To state that anyone who blindly accepts a higher light being in their lives is ultimately seditious is non sequitor.

I hate to point this out but not being able to see God is generally considered a good thing. Those who claim they can see God usually end up in a rubber room with a nice jacket that has sleeves that tie in the back.

Then again there is the flip side of the argument, "If you can't see God in everything, you can't see God in anything."

I can't feel my soul either. I can't even guarantee you I have one. I think therefore I am, but that doesn't mean I have a soul. I believe I do, but I'm sure I believe allot of things that may not be true.

So, Your problem here is you can't see God or feel your soul. I hate to be the bearer of bad news my friend but it sounds like you have a terrible case of sanity.

The only known cure for that is to spend a little time with mrwupy

I am probably gonna lose points for this one liner- but ~snip~ it. I adore your comment!

The fact that you're even asking these questions tells me that your soul is just fine. If it wasn't you'd not be asking these sorts of questions.

Ask yourself a question. Do you generally care about the world and the people in it? Or do you just muddle on through, ignoring everything and everyone around you? Do you pause to enjoy and appriciate beauty of all sorts? If you answer yes, no, and yes, I'd have to say your gonna be ok. Everyone questions things, that's the nature of humanity. It's when you stop asking questions and looking for the answers that you should begin questioning the condition of your soul.

Relax, your gonna be ok. Keep asking, no one has all the answers, steer clear of the ones who say they do.

You really said it here parry. This is exactly the way I feel. Spring is almost here and that is a perfect time to see life in action. I am in Michigan and there is nothing like watching spring unfold.

Literally everything comes back to life. Trees, flowers, gardens, bugs, ect... If you really want to know what God is all about then pay attention to your surroundings. Spend some time outside and watch how the eco system works.

Like parry said plant a garden or some flowers and watch the process. I just can't believe there wasn't intelligent design behind the whole thing. There are way too many things that need to happen for it to just be an accident.

Personally I go camping as often as possible in the summer. Most of the time it’s on my own. It's very quiet and when I first started doing it alone it was spooky. But then you start to think, watch and listen. There is nothing like watching the daytime and nighttime in a very quite setting. God is all around you.

Personally I can't get my mind around the fact that this is all by accident. Our whole way of life is dependent on more than just us or our immediate need for something. Our very way of life depends on the most insignificant of creatures. Take your pick really but without one the whole system comes crashing down.

Read books on the eco system and how things work... Without bees what would happen? That one process is truly amazing in my opinion. If you can't find God in "society" spend a weekend without any other human around in a forest somewhere and you will see God in everything around you.

A good spot would be by a lake where there are bugs, fish and other wild life. Make a fire and relax... You will find him.

Often see you posting and agree with your points. Can kind of see where you're coming from on this but don't totally agree. It all depends on what you see as dogma and what you see as a beleif? I personally beleive that there is some sort of "guiding principal" behind life in the universe- if iwas a christian i 'd call it god, scientists call it eveolution, a fatalist would call it destiny, taoists call it the tao ( or way), buddhists call it karma, hindu's dharma ( i think?)etc. If you belong to any of those clubs there are strict rules/beleifs that you have to go along with in order to stay in the club-ie. dogma. Information that disputes your argument is easy to ignore/refute as you have the club rules to quote. Speaking for myself i can only say that my beleifs are based on my own experience and as such can be updated or radically altered depending on new information/experience. We all only have the evidence of our senses. Anything else is someones opinion or your intuition. Cognitive bias has a lot to do with it i reckon?

Well...I know you may be taking this a bit too dramatically. But that isn't important. What is important is that the mind calms itself, and just think for a second. Think about what you're doing here. Think about what everyone else is doing here. Then think about the size of the universe. And then, you should realize that God just gave you a glimpse of his perspective.

It's called meditation here on Earth. Don't know what God calls it. But it helps.

First off Perplexed I live right across the river from you! I see the exact same things you speak of and I like to live the same way, camping and enjoying the beauty of the Earth.

Nextly, I have thought of the perfect metaphore for you OP: "God is like a magic eye puzzle, the harder you look the less likely you are to the the hidden image. However if you just relax and take the time to notice the whole picture you will eventually see the image meant to be seen."

I KNOW I WILL GET ALL SORTS OF EVERYONE BUT I HAVE A LONG LIST OF THINGS I HAVE FOUND THAT NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT - in threads
- I THINK !? So we will see where it all goes if it is safe, if anything you think isnt safe contact me privately to tell me what I should not disclose or talk about and I will private message you about some things I think people haven’t started talking about ( VERY SPECIFIC things that might have been covered IN a general topic that has been discussed) thanks

Its great to talk and listen and connect to what is familiar- sometimes affirmations help in that it may be a way of letting you know you're not crazy- not a lot of things. Safety is always a risk but that is how we learn things sometimes- at least I do!

Throw something out and if the response hurts your feelings- then chances are that person is not safe for you to be around.

You can always email me and I will be happy to give you my take on something. I am getting familiar with the different moderators and can probably refer the right one on a given subject- I would do this because that is what they have put themselves way out front for. They are willing to take risks that I am not willing to do at this point and likely never will as I am not diplomatic and diplomacy is not anything I find useful.

I have several "friends" on here who have a great deal more experience on ATS and have been here a long time- who have always managed to help me navigate ATS with the least negative side-effects.

Don't worry too much because you will find your own pace. I will definitely keep an eye on you because of the courage and bravery it took to put out here what you did!

I have found that the best position to be in when I am questioning matters is: confusion! I am in a more humble state when I am confused. Often things get revealed to me when I am in this state.

"A spiritual awakening is when my core spirit aligns with Gods reality."

There are 3 realities: your reality, my reality, and the way it really is.

I appreciate when King Solomon prayed for wisdom from God. It is something that I often do. It means though, going often against what the majority teach or how one has been taught.

I say, talk to God and then wait for an answer. Get quiet and breath! Often he will send teachers your way even if it is temporary.

"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak."

But if you feel so vehemently against those that believe strongly in God and soul, rail away.

Oh, and by the way. I am no liar. And to say otherwise shows your dark heart.

[edit on 29-3-2008 by jpm1602]

I am going to jump in on this one. Your supposed state of enlightenment and "feel good" metaphysical speak is the exact same thing as Divinormorus- the way you communicate your "opinion/belief" is considered PC, well-mannered and just plain prettier on every "level and this is further entrenched by all the stars and flags you get. I went back and did some study before posting this same with Divinormorus.

Now I am going to break it down and judge you as harshly as you judged Divinormorus.

Maybe you will see it- maybe you wont:

Oh, and by the way. I am no liar. And to say otherwise shows your dark heart.

Oh, and by the way (passive-aggressive) and broad because "Oh, and by the way." is not a full sentence and if used as such it shows just how unsure of your own opinions you really are! And no it's not a typo- but if you need that out- we understand- and by all means- take it.

I am no liar. Perfect technically- but again, hypocritical because the statement is not true and it is not a full sentence either! Unless of course you were say:

I am not a liar because I base every decision on my personal beliefs in accordance with the information I have. This statement would only be true if you were conversing with someone of the same or similar beliefs.

"I feel truly sorry for you. I do. Peace be with you. And to say otherwise shows your dark heart."

Okay lumping all of this together because it completely cancels itself out and it does not matter because it cannot be pieced together grammatically or otherwise to any coherence.

I feel truly sorry for you. I do. Again two passive-aggressive sentences one right after the other (very impressive- yet sadly this will only serve to make education difficult if not impossible). Also shows that by need to convey the same message twice that you probably a "drama" queen also unsure of the courage of your convictions. I would venture to say that your life must be a living hell without Enya, candles, crystals and happy sounding people all the time. It must also be absolute heaven for you when someone conflicted or tortured comes to you and leaves happy, peaceful and content with a complimentary copy of Enya under their arm.

"And to say otherwise shows your dark heart." There is nothing even remotely enlightened by the comment and it excludes any further opinion and Divinormorus is dismissed- with your pity, of course because it looks good and/or makes you look good and healthier. Sadly, it also proves that you are in fact- a liar and there was no real truth in your comment at all.

You do dishonesty and deception incredible well which makes you far more dangerous (IMO) than Divinormorus.

This is not an attack- rather my observation.

Don't even think about snickering Divinormorus because it would be easier for me to gut your post like a fish in a heartbeat.

As a sidebar and a burnt offering- I aspire to find what Matrixprophet has found and I know I will in my time. on my path and in my own way.

Blessing to all with as much sincerity as I am capable of giving and in accordance with anyones capability to receive.

PS- Antar's comment has so far impressed me the most as being closest to God

Perhaps God is like your nose. He is so close that you get cross eyed trying to see that its there, when in fact if you could look within yourself you would realize that its just you thinking that you are away from him somehow.

God is available if we are willing to hook into his spirit. Sometimes it is a quiet voice that we hear within ourselves and at times his voice is very loud. I have found that if I do not know something, if I sit quietly enough for a period of time, the answer will eventually come.

A good rule of thumb: "Do not have contempt prior to investigation." Sometimes the answers come through a spiritual teacher, a book, a movie, another person speaking. It is said that he will use a rock if necessary, to get across his message.

First, there is no need to apologize to me. The OP was asking about a problem and reached out for help- sadly these are the answers the OP got. Second, there isn't anything on my chest or weighing me down or hurting me because the Creator (God) does not give me anything I cannot ultimately handle. Sometimes I am graceful and sometimes I am not- but I always survive- well so far!

Aside from a slight hang-over- I feel just fine.

Though I am not a religious person, I would highly recommend that you talk to a priest. Ask around for a local recommendation.

You will receive so many conflicting answers on this thread and others, that you'll end up far more confused than you ever were.

Best wishes and good luck in your search.

Please read: "Conversations with God, vol 1 " asap. The author, Neale Donald Walsch explains things better than I ever could. You will become clear, I promise you.

All crap aside, all religious stuff aside .. I really can feel my soul.

This is how I feel it. When I talk to myself in my own mind, which is a projection from my brain of all these thoughts, images, words, numbers, sentences, things with set values and appearances and diameters, fixed colors and scents and fixed meanings, into some as of this time unknown realm where we can shuffle all this crap around in mid air silently, its called THINKING. So when I am talking to myself, there are distinctly TWO voices .. they sound the same, but one is generally reward driven, simple .. fleshy, if you will, constantly driving toward the simple results .. the simple pleasures, the rewards, food, drinks, smokes, things i like, rationalizations to do bad things like telling a lie or making a theft, for example. And then the other one is always in direct opposition to this, says the opposite, and is always geared toward some higher purpose, even if it is just to be at peace with myself. I really do think this is my instinctual flesh speaking with my benevolent soul.

Were I soulless, I'd be an empty, plain .. cold individual with seemingly no sense, bent on commiting crime or murder or theft, to the point where others who did have souls would look upon that man and say, "surely this man is mentally ill!" I know that you can think of some cold blooded killers just like this .. and yes .. the assertion is there, I am saying that human beings walk this Earth soulless.

But you cannot see your own soul, and you cannot see God, literally. But if you stare in the mirror, you are getting pretty damn close to seeing God.

Personally, after sowing the seeds for my Garden the beginning of this year, then working the garden day in and day out, removing the weeds, thinning the flowers, trimming things, keeping things kept up, feeding and watering the plants, I can say I have seen some more proof of God! Heheh, and it is simply watching nature do its thing .. you know .. grow? So day after day, I observe these things. .. the subtle changes, the small growth. And day after day they get more magnificent until they peak, then they grow seeds and enter the reproductive phase, to ensure more plants next year. So from one microscopic seed, an entire garden can bloom .. all from that 1 seed, because it grows a plant that develops seed, then the seed spreads all around, and 100 come in the place of it the following year. All of them genetic duplicates of the one I originally planted. Surely this is the grace of God, the lifeforce of God activating the seeds into growing. Let me explain further. The seed requires a certain temperature, moisture level, and certain nutrients in the soil, as well as certain lighting conditions, to grow, and continue to grow and bloom. Until the requirements are met, that seed could sit there for years and never do a thing.

Here is my double edged sword for which to duel with;
Where did the requirements come from, who or what set them to their exact, predictable, observable values?

Tip: DNA is not the answer. The DNA is where this information is kept on a microscopic level, but I am asking how this information came to be, how the exact precise levels of light, water, nutrient, and temperature were all set to their values?

And you can apply this to anything, even human beings. Why do we have an average temperature of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit? Who set this value, and why is it that it just happens to be extremely close to the temperatures on our planet of habitation? You can say we evolved to these conditions, but that which we "evolved from" had to have its' values, such as average temperature set as well, so evolution alone does not explain.

To face it is to say this: I do not know what it is, how it works, or if it is self-aware, but there must be a form of intelligence beyond this planet Earth. It may have been involved in the creation of the inhabitants of this planet, this galaxy, and all of the inhabitants therein.

Pretty tall order. Sounds like your asking for a personnel guru. I don't think you will find anyone with all the answers.
At least not on earth. I will share my limited knowledge with you, the best I can.
You can't see God. Because God is; "the invisible Spirit of Love, that created everything out of nothing". The Bible
God could be partially known through His Creation. But since His Creation has been corrupted with Evil; it is very difficult to (see) exactly what God
is likem, in it. To counter this fact, God sent His only begotten Son, into this world. To reveal a more perfect image of himself and to redeem man back to himself!
Concerning the fluoridation. Don't you have to ingest it, before it dumbs you down? Anyway God is not limited by anything.
It isn't just about a feeling! Although you might experience the correct feeling some times. Someone else said these feelings can be artificially induced. So they must be real and designed in us. Faith knows through a preponderance of evidence. Experience, knowledge, and
sharing of that experience and knowledge with others. Who can confirm
yours with theirs.
A soul is a entity, that thinks, feels and remembers! You do all those things. Therefore you are a soul. The part that you want to identify and "feel". Is the part that lives on, after your body dies. While in our bodies, we can't experience that part of our soul. As a wholly independent experience. If you are found worthy of eternal life. Your body will be resurrected and rejoined with that former self, that has been living in the heavenly spiritual realm.
I recommend you watch part 14 of "what the bleep do we know, (Down the rabbit hole). In the middle of 14 is the cartoon concerning "flat-landers".
This helps explain the "blocks", materialistic minded people have about
accepting the reality of more; then just the material.

You are right on my man, a star for you!

God is indeed everything. In fact, some say God had to destroy the "physical" portion of himself into a bizillion pieces to CREATE what we now know as .. well, The Universe I guess? I call it "The Creation".. but anyways .. so it is these parts of God, these "sparks" of righteousness or holiness that exist in all things.. this is a Lubavitch Hasidic Jewish belief concept, and so I may have gotten it a little bit wrong.
