If you could go back in time to witness any UFO sighting, which would it be?

Roswell?

Phoenix Lights?

Stephenville TX?

So many to choose from. So much blurry shaky camera footage. I would choose the one with the most corroborating eye-witnesses. Maybe you could go back to prove something is also a hoax? Hey a guy can dream can't he?

It's Monday, forgive me.

LOL as its late in the day and I am getting weary, I shall indulge in this fantasy...

Id like to go back and film them building the pyramids, but other than that its got to be the Roswell one, get some good evidence either way!

I would definitley want to see the Roswell incident just because that was probably the most talked about sighting

The Lubbock lights without a doubt.
That would be an awesome sight.

Roswell, absolutely. I think that's the most famous (infamous even) sightings.

Pay no attention to all the silly replies above me. *(just teasing)

The obvious answer is/are:

1. The Betty and Barney Hill alleged abduction. It contains some aspects that few other cases have. For one thing, if true as stated, it would document the first link between an alien being, an abduction and a non-terrestrial craft flown by said alien(s).

2. The Lonnie Zamora case. It also would document an actual craft in operation (and not a mock up) with live beings. If the 'witnessing' was allowed to be infinite zoom and pan, one could identify details. One could also see how the interaction damaged Zamora's car.

Though some might pick the Roswell case I think that it, as stated contains significant flaws as a 'best case' to witness.

In the two cases above, we reportedly would see the craft fly, land, and take off again. One could also 'board' the craft and virtually look around.

The Roswell craft, usually depicted with -dead- aliens and a crashed craft would not give up significant detail to identify it as real without an autopsy and extensive testing of the 'dead' creatures to assure their non-terrestrial origin, and according to the thread, we would not have the opportunity or means to do that. It would be impossible through normal 'witnessing' to prove the 'craft' could fly, or that the 'dead aliens' were non-terrestrial and not just convincing dummies with a craft mocked up, perhaps for training purposes?

In addition there would be no way to ascertain that the 'crashed craft' was ever able to fly, was truly non-terrestrial in origin (just by witnessing, iow), and no real evidence that the aliens actually used that craft. All that would be non-supported deduction and inference, unlike (presumably) the Hill case where we'd -see- the craft flying and landing and taking off, and see the aliens disembark, and we'd see them interacting with, and possibly examining and paralyzing the Hills. We'd also get to see their gear.

(Obviously if the Hill case ended up being a fabrication, in whole or part, then the Roswell case with (presumably) actual artifacts (proven ET or not), which are better than a hallucination, obviously, if the Hill case would turn out to be so, then it would move to the top spot.)

Another reason the B&BH case would be the top pick is that it may contain the link between any EBE and the US military. There's some evidence that the military did track this event but know more than they are disclosing.

Great question, btw.

My first thought was Roswell then I thought about some more obscure events that would be fun to see. One would be Columbus' sighting over the Atlantic or Alexander the Great's reported sighting. Much more fun to go to than 40s New Mexico.

There are a few that id like to witness.

The first thing that came to mind was The roswell incident. Id love to be there and see what really went down.

Another is the lights that hovered over the capital building in 1952. After I saw it for a few minutes I would want to be a fly on the wall in the oval office hearing what the president has to say about it.

Something else would be the mysterious airship that flew over texas in 1896. I just think it would be kind of cool to see what it was.

Nuremburg would be a wonderful experience. Those orbs seen in the sky are just so similar to what's occuring today. I've seen them and I know they are very incredible. To see them with the whole of Nuremburgs medieval population would be amazing.

I think I would prefer to be above our atmosphere, I'd like to know what the astronauts/cosmonauts see from the shuttle and or iss. Like what the *#!^ was that filmed on the sts 48 mission that did an abrupt turn after the 'missile' was fired at it? There was some amazing footage shot on that mission.

and

Great thread, it's interesting to hear everyone's ideas. Something that I'm sure almost all of us have thought of at one time or another.

I would go back to 1978, standing by the Cape Otway Lighthouse, watching Valentich's plane being taken by the larger UFO over the ocean.

If I was able, I'd take a few high-powered laser pointers and try to distract them from getting him. They probably had a reason, but I would have picked a fight with them for taking one of our own!

Any of the big abductions, just to see what really went down.

Travis Walton
Betty and Barney Hill
Hickson and Parker

A non-abduction but possibly equally interesting

Lonnie Zamora

Roswell, maybe, just to see if there could be something there to get people to shut up about it.

I'd want to see the biblical days to see if those flying carriages were flying saucers or not. Maybe when the sons of god came down and married our woman and produced offspring known as the Nephilim. And also to see if there is any truth to any of it.

Rendlesham Forest UK. This was the UK verson of Roswell in my opinion and all witnesses were of US military personell on UK soil. Such a strange event that this was and i have had many dreams about this incident too

I like the idea of being in the outer atmosphere/space to witness an event. I think I'd like to go back and watch and understand the whole process of whoever it was that parked the space vessel "Luna" in its current orbit around us, and why.

i'd like to see the shag harbour incident, this case really interests me.

as someone's posted above, nuremburg would be good too, i would just like to know what they were actually looking at.

Either Rendlesham Forest or Shag Harbor. Although it would be interesting to go back to ancient Sumeria to see if the Anunnaki truly were ETs as that could answer many of the questions regarding human civilization.

Great thread...so many incidents to choose from.

But since nobody's thrown this one out there yet, I'm gonna go with:

1917: Miracle at Fatima

Whether UFO or religious event - something crazy happened that day and I'd like to know what it was.

As a couple have already mentioned, the Barney and Betty Hill event would be a great one to watch as it unfolded.......

Especially if I got to follow them into the craft and see those star charts for myself!!
