I said I don't believe a word he says, and neither should you. He comes from the Kennedy crime family and has a political agenda just like every other elitist clown that comes from big money.

He tells you and me to cut our CO2 emissions while he carts around on a personal jet that spits out more CO2 in a day than I will in my whole lifetime.

I am talking about the subject of this thread. If you want to whine about it and try to pretend it's irrelevant, go ahead.

And to pretend that this trust fund baby has an unbiased perspective on the world with everyone's best interests at heart, is intellectual dishonesty at best.

Again, I'll ask you to add to the discussion. Did you listen to it at all? Do you have any comments on what he said?

What you are doing is called ad hominem attacks. They are useless. You're not talking to a bunch of children here.

I don't care if he's a convicted felon if what he is saying is true.

Do you people even know the history of the Kennedy family? One shady bunch of criminals.

John F. Kennedy was a good man.

I actually thought the speech was excellent. He seems very passionate about the subject, and I applaud him for getting up and speaking his mind.

Check out his next post and you'll get a summation of his "argument". He basically just attacks the Kennedy family.

Ad hominem at it's best.

Excellent post Dr Love.

Starred and Flagged.

This was an outstanding speech and he makes his point very overwhelmingly at the end.
Its good to know there are some powerful people who are on the side of what America is supposed to stand for.

I`ve downloaded the videos and plan to share.

Thanks again.

Anyway, thanks for sharing these videos, I agree with most of it.

Because the first layer of our brains is reptilian in nature. Then came the mammal layer, then the cerebral cortex.

You can't quite comprehend what I'm saying, can you? Cognitive bias is tough to deal with, isn't it?

I'll say it again... and this time, you should actually read what I'm typing.

The conspiracy theories he's railing against are just as much driven by a political agenda as the very conspiracies the so-called neo-cons have perpetrated against the American people.

He's a hypocrite and just as blind to the "truth" as the rest of the political establishment is. And no, that doesn't mean I know the "truth" anymore than you do.

We Seem to be very observent and likeminded individuals here. even The Riposte was playing along for the sake of the conversation development.

Hell if i were to disect a mind layer by layer, I could do it in relation to the way this entire post-line linear conversation is going.

but, then again, we all have opinions, and we know what they're worth to some people...

Is is a basic understanding of the human brain from a evolutionary respective. If you look at our nervous system with the brain as the flower on top, we see that the lower parts of the system exist in different species, so these parts are widely spread and going up the parts become more specific and rare. So in the brain itself there are parts that exist in more that one animal, like the brainstem and the lower lobes. Specifically human are the highest or top parts of the brain. The lowest parts are considered to have evolved first.

Research showed that emotions and sexual drives are located in deeper parts of the brain that already existed in reptilian species, so that seems to be part of our evolutionary heritage. RFK uses this reference to point out that our entertainment business keeps us at a lower level of engagement, namely sex and emotions. Analyzing and gathering information are more "human" intellectual exercises that most people do not consider as "fun", and do not engage in.

(To say in a evolutionairy perspective that we are part reptilian brainwise, has nothing to do with claims on this board of the presence of socalled alien reptilian species, so do not put RFK in this corner on basis of that remark. Modern science reports this evolutionary model. Although you may still question where we come from, of course)

Wow, it seems like everyone here knows about this reptilian layer of our brain, except for me. Maybe I learned it in school, but I honestly cannot recall. Thanks to all of you for the feedback.

of course, the entire reptilian brain is just a theory.

I'd say it's more of a Theory than a theory. A good rundown can be found here.

I loved the right-hand left-hand analogy towards the end. It does a very good job at simplifying the political spectrum. Here it is again if anyone missed it:

Quoted from Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
And what we have to understand in this country, is that the domination of business by government, is called communism, and the domination of government by business is called facism, and what we need to do, what our job is, is to walk that narrow trail in between, which is free market capitalism and democracy, and hold big government at bay with our right hand, and big business at bay with our left. And in order to do that, we need an informed public that is able to recognize all the milestones of tyranny. And we need an aggressive and independent press that is willing to stand up and speak truth to power. And we no longer have that in the United States of America.

Where has this guy been for the last 7 or so years though???

Okay, it's a touching speech, yes..... but has he allways been so vocal on his thoughts on the current mess in the US? Can you show me any other data, textual or visual, where he has been so firm to fight the battle against 'baddies'??

It's too little, too late in my oppinion - Bush & his criminal cronies are on their way out - and i'd suggest this guy is just riding the current wave of 'political enlighteners' whom are jumping on the bandwaggon; while the likes of Alex Jones and a few others have been screaming the exact same warnings to the world for many, many years now.

I'm not the most informed person on the Kennedy family, but I know this much they seem to die a lot. That would indicate they can't be to in bed with the elites.
I give you this comparison. When Jose Canceso released his tell-all book, his credibility was questioned, and rightfully so. As it turns out tho, he was "Right as Rain" as my best friends dad would always say. I look at it this way. what would he gain by giving this speech. I don't think Corp America is paying him to say such things. Do you? Tell me one thing he said that you don't think is true, never mind your personal feelings about the man.

Hello Dr Love,

Look the guy giving the speech is a good talker and he is funny.

But I am tired of people trying to make being a republican mean you’re one of the bad guys, Its just not true

It is just a matter of what you want.

Austerity or prosperity, up to you.

In the past the Democrats were pro-slavery they were the south and their entire industry was based on slavery now not so much but they defiantly like austerity.

The Republicans have always been and still are pro-Free men based on a capitalist system. Despite the slave wage there is always the opportunity for prosperity.

What do you want?

Slaves get free food, health care and lodging.

Free men and women have to get off their butts and sweat blood for what they have……but they are free to prosper at their will.

In capitalism the rich get richer if the lazy and uneducated get lazier and dumber by blaming others instead of getting richer.

In any other system you get free food, heath care and lodging.

Wiki on Democratic Party.

Wiki on Republican Party

Here is a video about the Republican Party.

Don’t be fooled learn your history........

There is no good and bad Party...........only the one you choose.

Here is something to consider. If the corporations work to influence government and through that make it hard for real competition to emerge then how is free market capitalism going survive. Free market capitalism requires competition. We have a few corporations in each industry controlling everything. Hardware stores, grocery stores, food chains, cars, phone service, electrical power, insurance, banks. There has been a steady move from small business owners to large corporations and it is in part to the many tax breaks and laws that benefit these corporations while at the same time making it much harder for individuals to make it.

A very good thread, worthy of stars and flags, which mine will be added as I exit.

While there are some here that cry foul, and rightly so, for being labeled bad because they're Republicans, it seems that many who do so are not paying attention closely. The question is not Rep or Dem, but right and wrong. There are both good and bad in both parties. What will decide the future is if Americans can find a path out of the "blind loyalty" jungle of party politics.

And the labeling of RFK Jr because of whatever questionable actions his ancestors may have done is without excuse. I dare say that were the truth known, few here on these boards have a pure history going back two or three generations. And you "first stone casters" would scream bloody murder if you were ridiculed/ostracized because your grandfather was a crooked contractor, or your uncle spent a couple of years in the pen. Yet in politics, you merit/demerit the worth of someone based not on what they stand for themselves, but on the actions of a relative they had no control over. How quaint and provincial.

The old ties to party loyalty are the very reins used to guide this nation, used by those that lack substance and honor, and must rely on blind ideology of party. Many Dems and Reps are members of the party they grew to admire in their childhood/early adulthood. But we need to put away childish things, and advance into maturity. We need to chose our leaders wisely, instead of allowing them to lead us around by using worn out catch phrases of bygone eras.

Is the fuzzy warm feeling that comes from "belonging" means so much that we can ignore the wisdom of truth, just because it's spoken by someone who's family may have had unsavory members, or belong to a party we don't fully agree with? As for me, no man, and no party, owns me, and my mind is my own. Freedom is the ability to chose, not the ability to accept the choices of others.
