I remember getting a check in August of 2001, then about 2 weeks later...

Well, I can't imagine the US government playing the ole' grifters trick of "flash the cash" (flash a $20 when you order, then pay with a $10 and scoop the change for the $20)

Lets see last time the rebate/advance preceded a recession. The recession was
hidden by sub prime loans and price fixed homes but now there is no where to hide it.

A May/June 2008 delivery date will be just in time for the RealID program

Ok, for those of you that think that this is Free money let me walk you through the deceiving tactics of a corrupted and out of control system of government we have.

NO is no free money, is not a gift and is not a lotto and repeated give away to last for years to come.

This money have to be pay back, by us, our children and grandchildren still to be born.

This Money will be added to the catastrophic national deficit link to the defense budget.

This money will not fix the economic problems of the nation nor will bring back jobs for those that once spend their littler loan check (Yes is a loan) will have a job waiting to pay back what they spend.

This money is the most deceiving and corrupted way that our wealthy and elite politicians can come out to keep you mouth shut and compliant.

Yes I consider the money dirty and a manipulation of a government that has no clue as the needs of a nation like ours because they do not live, work or share anything any more with the common US hard working citizen.

In other words they are telling Americans to take the check pay later and go blind to what they are doing to screw us all.

All of you bitching about this money, I will gladly take your share. I bet that you all spend it or put it in the bank....I just dont see anyone taking a check for 600 or 1200 bucks and ripping it up.

So dont be a hypocrite...

No one is being a hypocrite. It’s just that I remember expecting a certain amount on my return that I filed the following year. I always get about $3,000 back and I was planning a trip to Walt Disney World with it. But, guess what? I got my check back with my amount count in more than half. When I called the IRS about it they said they gave me part of it already. It was that advance they gave. So all I am saying is it was my money they gave me. They just gave it in advance. I am sure this is what they are doing again. Next year not this year it will come back out of you're return. They take it back. How can people not remember this?

Stop complaining that you cant steal more of my money!

Nothing worse than a theif or a liar...

Aparently you dont understand how that Ponzi scheme they call social security works.

Robin hood gets you to invest into the ponzi scheme and the return you get is paid for with the money from future investors. On Wall Street Ponzi schemes will get you thrown in jail. In Washington they get you re-elected.

I dont feel bad AT ALL for the elderly who are getting screwed by the SSA. They did it, they allowed it to stay in place before it grew into the nightmare we know today.

I just did my taxes last night. I put over $3000 into SSI this year, money I WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN because our grandfathers STOLE IT FROM US!

I am 27, too young to expect a return from SSI when I "grow up." I SAVE MONEY ON MY OWN, because I dont expect Big Brother to pay for me after the elderly are done robbing me before I start to grey.

Greatest generation my ass.

You all want to know you should be spending this stolen cash on? Guns, ammo, and goats, and gold, in that order.

Get ready, this check is the writing on the wall.

EDIT TO ADD: Cavscout is legaly 70% disabled payable at 50%, his disability was CAUSED BY THE GOVERNMENT, and he REFUSES TO ACCEPT DISABILITY PAYMENT.

Unlike you and your husband, I work through my disability and dont rob from the rest of the citizens.

Shar, it has already been explained to you that you dont understand how it worked. You are presenting anecdotal evidence of how you thought that it workd, but the facts are against you here.

You should have looked into what the July check was before you spent it. I know that I like to look and see how my money is being raped from me.

Stay alert, stay alive!

You don't know how much I feel your pain, while my husband income bracket will not give us anything in return we will be forwarding our income taxes for those that do not spend a penny paying any.

Like I said life in America for the hard working citizen is just peachy.

Tell me about it!

I get nothing back even with 6 dependents. I claim my wife, 4 kids (one more on the way!
) and my mother in law. I shudder to think what it would be like if I didnt have those dependants!

I didnt grow up with a silver spoon, BTW. I came from a government housing project in Oregon City, the oldest of 8 kids. My parents graduated AFTER I moved out of the house at 15 years old.

I worked for every damn cent, I even paid my taxes while I was homeless, living in my car with my new wife and child.

Didnt even get a food stamp, paying my taxes WHILE HOMELESS MYSELF!

I have no pitty for these theives who want to steal my money.

You really fall under the hard working American credo my friend, you at least have Dependants we already have our children out of college and can not file for them, so right now we pretty much have an idea of how much taxes is going to cost us this year.

Because that is how I see tax time, is the time to pay the poor.

The sad thing we are not rich either just hard working Americans that had a good life because been hard workers never qualified for anything free.

Perhaps death.

Oh you're crazy talk. Of course I know where every dollar of my money is. I'm not a teen or child. I am in less than $2,000.00 worth of debt. Which I could pay off tomorrow if I wanted. I have a great memory. Like I said several other adult members in the same income bracket of us also remembers this. So maybe it just depends on you're income bracket. I don't know. But, you shouldn’t think I am lying. It did happen. I have taxes to prove it. But, all I was doing was trying to warn people that they will take it back out.

It didnt belong to me! The money that is given out for welfare programs is stolen at gunpoint from Americans.

I am not willing to steal to feed my family until we are starving. As it was, we were not starving, I was working. Although we lived in our car, I found a job in a casino that had a gym with a shower so I could look presentable. It also had a laundry service for uniforms.

My family was never in danger, and they learned a valuable lesson about not stealing what others have earned.

It would seem that your father failed to teach you the same.

FINALLY PROOF

One of the most controversial aspects of the tax law is a plan to send checks to 95 million people who filed tax returns earlier this year. Due to a change in tax laws that will take effect in 2002, the government is sending advanced payments this year to refund part of next year's taxes. Those advanced payments are referred to as tax rebates. The rebates range from $300 - $600 depending on whether someone is single, married, or the head of a household. The total cost of these rebates will be around $38 billion dollars.

See it's the exact same thing this time that they did last time. See it was an advance payment. We paid it back TOLD YOU.

Hum,,, I just notice something People. They put this into action one month before 9-11. Wonder?

TOLD YOU.

No, so sorry but you failed to read and/or comprehend the very article you linked to.

This from your source:

The 400-page bill reduces the amount of money the government will collect in taxes by $1.35 trillion over the next 11 years. Because of that change, the amount of taxes people will pay each year will drop, which will allow them to save more money for retirement. The plan also eliminates the estate tax, which affects mostly wealthy families who pass on property and money from one generation to the next.

The law was passed to CUT TAXES and instead of making you wait they gave the money right away.

What that means is that had you not recieved the money early, you would get back MORE money in Jan. every year then you would normaly have been refunded had the taxes not been cut.

How can you not understand this?

I am done trying to explain it to you, the facts are on my side. Not everyone can understand money.

Dude, what are you trying to do?

A bum, are you that dense?

Due to cirumstances beyond my control we were forced to live in our car for a short period of time, yes. I then went on to recieve my masters and now live in a 2 year old, 3200 sq ft house and own two PAID OFF late model luxury vehicles. I have NO CREDIT CARD debt and earn more in a year then many do in a decade.

No, not a bumb, just an honest person who refuses to steal from you, yet you make fun of me for that?

I refuse to be a thief and you think that is funny?

Get banned.

However, you want to interrupt it. They gave us the money and took it out of our return the following year. Like I said we were not the only ones they did this too.

Example would be say I received $600.00 from them early. I filed my return claiming $3000.00. Instead I got $2400.00 back. That is what I am saying. They took it back period.
