Well the more they learn . The better protected they can be . Maybe i just saved a major bank employees job . Or maybe i convinced some 14 year old how easy it is to hack .
Either way i didn't teach them . And the information is free to anyone at anytime .
Im defiantly not facilitating them with that post. The sites i linked to are crap and can only decrypt a previously entered pass (I made the pass up entered it and pasted it here) It wont crack a regular pass without you paying for it , The sites mainly for recovering your windows password. Most sites are starting to salt there md5's anyway thank god.
Its just an exercise in security .

the internet isnt "imagination land" Where unicorns and Leprecons play . Its real life .

*hacking for dummies etc.*

I know too many people like this. You think the internet is real life. It's not.

Unlike real life, computers do have restart buttons, they can be restored, and all data can be backed up. Just because you can steal someones password from a database doesn't mean you are the God of the internet... I have met way too many nerds and wannabe hackers who think because they've figured out how to use warez that they are masters of the internet.

Nah. The backbones that run the internet are currently being bought up by Google, and one day, it will be as easy as clicking on your I.P. number and disabling your connection. They can shut the entire internet down once all the mainframes are bought up...

what are you going to do then? Invent another form of networking so that you can continue hacking?

Don't take yourself so seriously. Anon is doing exactly that, and by demonstrating that they are an organization of hackers, they're going to have the government all over them for terrorist activity. Before you know it, the internet is locked down.

I don't care how many times you've seen the Matrix or how many tutorials you've googled on hacking. You're not the masters of the internet. The plug can and probably will be pulled eventually.

I'm just dissapointed that big-headed wannabe hackers are going to be the cause of it.
But it figures...

Paranoid fruitcakes if anything will be the end of the internet. Not well educated individuals.

You have nothing to back up your claims . And my little lesson in basic security is just that a lesson . You can learn from it or not . The fact that you replied that way you did tells me you have about as much experience in coding as I do nuclear science.
Noone claimed to be a god. Your the one putting them on a pedestal .
Im personally not a hacker . But i deal in security. Quite the twist eh ? I protect morons that refuse to protect them selfs

You cant shut off the internet . It IS real life and should be treated as such. One day you will figure this out . But assuming people cant affect your real life through your computer is just plain ignorant.

They can shut the entire internet down once all the mainframes are bought up

You are funny . And have NO understanding of the internet. Please stop while your ahead.

Dude, just because you're anti-conspiracy and love to troll ATS doesn't mean you can call everyone a paranoid fruitcake
get real.

'Well educated individuals' already know how capable the government is of patrolling the internet. They do it on the regular. Were you unaware of this? Or are you just ignorant because there aren't mainstream news stories about hackers being thrown in prison?

Yeah, it really is. I've never met a security tech who went around posting hints at password decryption and how to hack forums etc.
This is a forum by the way... it's a good thing you edited your post or you'd be gone by now.

But honestly, the fact that you did that shows what kind of security tech you are. My dad is a certified network technician. People like you are small fry wannabe criminals.

You cant shut off the internet .

For a 'well educated' individual you're not impressing me. Google is currently buying up all the major backbones to every ISP. Are you still living in the age of dial-up modems and TCP/IP hacking? I suggest you get with the times, this is 2008.

You are funny . And have NO understanding of the internet. Please stop while your ahead.

Bro, I've been ahead since I corrected you two posts ago. You're not invincible, you don't own the internet, hackers are just little fish swimming in a very big pond that they do not own. It won't be long until they go swirling down the drain and drag the rest of the internet along with them.

If you take offense to that statement, I think it's clear what you imagine yourself to be.

Watching something and pulling the plug are 2 different things guy.

Yikes. For a supposed security tech you're having a hard time with those quote brackets eh?

This site is for adults, 18 year olds and over. This is a conspiracy theory website. Saying 'OMG da guberment da guberment' and calling people paranoid fruitcakes for pointing out the reality of internet infrastructure and government surveillance is not only childish, it's not needed on ATS at all.

Cya around. By the way, I appreciate the free publicity from your sig.

well folks, I just received a U2U from Mindless where he adressed me with my real life name.

He's resorted to the same childish tactics he referenced in this thread to look up my personal info.

Nice knowing you, Mindless. Make sure when you make your next account (as you will) that you don't pull any stunts like this again, I have no problem contacting ATS to inspect your activity if you so much as attempt to hack me or any other members.

Good riddance.

I hope this creates more jobs for covert hackers in the government..lord knows the COS and oother groups had the feds infiltrated long ago,(thats (why Germany said..no no no..) like the mafia did in the city halls of NY and chicago years ago, that should give us more leaks and "voice" inside..
. Where there is a lack of ethics and justice,,something comes in to fill the void..lets hope its good, because if there is no selfretraint..the net will be no less like the "wild wild west". where you get a bullet just looking the wrong way..or to see you dance..

I haven't the time to read the whole tread at the moment but wanted to point out that, having spent my youth in the SciFi community, I heard from a seemingly reputable source, that L.Ron was at a SciFi writer's party at a convention and said to John W. Campbell, Jr., "If I wanted to get rich, I'd start a religion."

I have every reason to believe this is factual, but take it for what it's worth to you.

Yeah, someone said that earlier in the thread.
I believe it too.
Hell, if I had the resources, I'd probably do it too.
But we'd be a cooler one, with lots of great (but admittedly unnecessary) holidays.
Hey...anyone out there wanna join my new religion?
There'll be macaroons and beer for everyone!

Actually you are very wrong. Anon is a very serious group of more than mere hackers. They caught one of the worst and most elusive child molesters the world has ever seen and they caught him within two months. The CIA, FBI, KGB, MI^ and other agencies could not catch him for nearly 9 years.

Do not under estimated the power of this group. They do not randomly attack people or organizations. This group is not something you want to irk. They disabled the CIA, FBI, and Baseline websites crippling these organizations as a show of force.

Obviously they are going after Scientology for a reason- and they are relentless- I would not want to be in charge of tech at Scientology- for certain!

Yeah, these guys seem pretty serious.

So, any news of anything going on lately?
Any statements from the CoS?

I will join your religion if you promise to have lots of Pizza Parties.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!

Something I have been thinking about. If Anon is so great at this hacking, aren't they going to be capable of covering their tracks? Are they really so exposed that they might be found by the government?

Another thought. I read that they are from the 4chan website(?) 4chan spent numerous hours shutting down my friends World of Warcraft website, on numerous occasions. That doesn't really seem like the agenda of a world dominating super group of hackers to me. I don't know though, maybe they were just bored on those days?

If you do a little research into Operation Freakout, you will find just how intolerant the Scientologists have been towards criticism. They have a total disregard for freedom of the press/speech. Authors should not have to live in fear of the words that they write. These people are way out there, and I applaud the Anon for their actions.

Apparently Anonymous has been around for awhile. I've seen a few news reports showing that they have helped police catch criminals that couldn't be touched because of legalities. From my very limited understanding, it is a group of White Hat type hackers. This information is just from sketchy news articles so take it for what it is.

All I know is that from what I've read from many different, mainstream sources, scientology has the look of a dangerous cult. I feel bad for those who have been tricked and trapped into it.

Here's a really interesting video showing how the church members use agressive and intimidating tactics to try and silence critics.

www.youtube.com...

Do me a favor and watch this video a few times. Note the bearded guys eye blinks.

Now watch the Tom Cruise video and watch for the SAME eye blink pattern.
www.youtube.com...

I find it very un-nerving that the eye blink pattern is so similar during moments of expressive stress. It almost looks like a conditioned response. I've never seen the pope do this

That video of Tom Cruise was completely mental. I found it very difficult to follow him.
I am glad that the Anonymous group are attacking them, it is my understanding that they are against the censorship and secrecy of Scientology.
I am just sad that Will Smith has recently been converted

Oh CRAP!!! They got Will Smith??? When did this happen???
Well his career is over especially if he's been audited and they now have blackmail material on him.

Those three guys in the video seemed so zealous.
It was frightening.
They seemed completely unwilling to hear what the cameraman was saying.
They even tried to turn everything around against him.
Now, I don't know the whole story, only what I've seen in a ten-minute clip, so I can't make a full assessment of the situation, but it genuinely seems like those guys were acting as enforcers.
If Scientology helps people, then why are Scientologists so weird?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for freedom of religion, but they seem very weird, and they ignore really important questions (such as the fates of some of their previous members who met untimely and/or nefarious ends).
They also were very aggressive and went on the offensive immediately.
Is that normal for Scientologists?

All I do know is that they're very powerful.
And it would appear that they've made a powerful and highly elusive enemy in Anonymous.

The CoS must've really done some bad stuff to piss off a bunch of cyber-pros like Anonymous.

Well, at least someone's doing something about the Cos.

This is gonna get crazy.
