The ignorant always fear what they don't understand.

If all hackers are thieves, then all gun owners are murderers.

Everyone should ally themselves with at least one proficient hacker. Our enemies employ hackers against us. You think whining and calling them names will protect you? No. But another hacker will.

I think it'd be awesome if 2600 were 501c(3).

Ah, the CoSplay. I know a few people involved in this and as interesting and tempting it is for me to join their ranks, I shall sit back. Mainly from checkered past. I'm no longer in it for the LULZ.

sorry to be off topic......but that just made me laugh

just bought a Super Cub to train with. Futaba? ive been looking at the Sectrum stuff myself. DX7 maybe.

on topic........it will be interesting to see how this plays out. considering that CoS is a 501(c)3, it will be protected by the government. And the government, including the FBI could persue this as terrorism. I hope that Annon. knows what "he" is doing.

The question here in my mind, is, why shouldn't the "fraudulent church of Scientology" be taken to task ??

I mean, public knowledge of their ideas and beliefs make their "belief system" far less believable than Christianity !!

Governments world wide should immediately revoke any tax free status afforded Scientology and make it so that this "movement" has to prove it is a religion and not some money making scheme for its "higher" members...

And if the Scientologists want to bitch about this, then show the rest of us good reason why you should be tax exempt as a religion...

Frankly...Scientology is right up there with some of the fringe right-wing Christian sects out there...

Sure, believe and practice whatever you want...BUT...If you make a profit on same, be prepared to pay tax just like other "fringe" belief systems...

Anyone who honestly believes in the teaching of a piss poor sci-fi writer and takes said words as stuff to live their lives by needs serious help...

And not the sort of help provided by your local Scientology group....A sensitive and caring psycholgist might be a good first step....If not, a local caring GP...

Peace

There's one of the problems with 'public knowledge'. Scientology isn't a belief system at all, it's a system of practices and techniques.

Most people who attack Scientology know only what they hear from anti-Scientologists. I left Scientology for my own reasons based on my own experience and my own opinions. The least people should do, for the sake of their own integrity, is check their facts.

Most of what I see is about as accurate as the anti-Iraq press propaganda you saw to justify the US invasion of Iraq.

Maybe Scientology has rattled someone's cage. Maybe someone has their own reasons for wanting Scientology to be attacked.

Think for yourselves, people.

This is hilarious. The articles give btards wayyyy too much credit. As a member of the ytmnd community I've gotta tell you most of the people there are kids. 13 year old script kiddies. I don't belong to 4chan because it's a cesspool of hentai and just the bowels of the internets. ytmnd is slightly more mature with more sites that are more poignant than just outright offensive. At least mine are. Having been on raids with them I've experienced firsthand that it's just a bunch of bored kids running scripts other people wrote. Their attention span reflects this. Next week they'll be bored with scientology once again and choose another target.

But I applaud them for fighting the good fight against the most vile pyramid scheme to date.

Hackers are criminals who belong in jail. Scientology is a Confidence Game gone wild. A group of criminals attacking an Organization that preys on the mentally ill and mentally weak started by a criminal. Anyone see the irony in this?

Since Scientology can't do anything to an intelligent person and since hackers crimes hurt everyone; lock those hackers up and throw away the key. Ignore Scientology and it will go away. Of course there are lots of crazy rich folk for Scientology to trick but they can afford it.

Hackers don't have causes. They invent them to cover up their little Felonies
. Hacking is stealing and thieves are - well I can't say that here. I wonder how many Identity thefts this little band of merry outlaws have stolen and how many people they have hurt. You know if they are doing this they are doing the other.

Your presumptions are way off base. To even consider the leap of shutting down a website to identity theft somehow follows a logical path is comical. To blanket state that no hackers have causes is also foolhardy. That is presuming to know every hacker that ever existed and to know how they operate. To say if you are doing one thing means you are doing the other is also laughable. Did you get educated at leapsoflogic.com?

hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

OMG how great was that video!
once again, another reason I love ATS, that was nice to wake up to!

The thing about Scientology is... its creator was a former fiction novelist...
A FICTION novelist...
I wonder if he actually expected people to believe him?!?

and tom cruse drank katie holme's placenta as part of the religion...
i'm sure some of you might not have wanted to know that... but its a fact.
you can look it up online.
gross huh?

To be fair, Cruise has stated that was a joke.

Having never been a Scientologist all I know is what I've read and what I've learned from the junk mail they send me. Their trying to solicit me to pay them to have my theton levels checked... yeah... I don't even know how they got my name.

Hack away kids. Hack away.

Since the act of Hacking is a crime throughout most of the World; we will have to agree to disagree. Amiably of course. I understand the attraction. It's like a drug. The problem is many who take their first taste of a drug can't or don't stop until it becomes destructive and causes them to hurt people.

I'm all for anything that causes the Scientology cult to bleed, preferably hemmorhage. Alasteir Crowley would be very proud of what they have become, and they can all celebrate together in Hell.

I too am a Capitalist Pig and Hackers are the enemy of true Capitalist as they reduce the bottom line. As do all criminals.

Let me tell you a little story:

High School Kid clowning around hacks into my office system. Manages to destroy some files for the fun of it. Turns out one of the files is my Invoicing and Customer Data Base. It takes 3 weeks and over two hundred man hours to reconstruct. The Insurance company says no way do they Insure against Data loss. I have to lay off my entire Staff while it is being redone. These people who have families to support loose most of a months pay. I'm out nearly two months income as I'm a small business.

What do I think of these childish pranks by immature people?

Please elaborate on how hacking is a drug? If I was aware of a person who kept archives of child porn on their computer and was holding a child at risk, and I hacked into their computer illegally to find the hard evidence necessary to convict this person, would that make me an immature child looking for a fix?

Except that's not exactly true, is it?
Placenta story - Oh yeah

I don't actually recall it as part of my training when I was a Scientologist. Is all your data this well checked out?

We can't use eating a placenta as reason to dislike a religion. I know a few hippy dads who ate their children's placentas. It's gross, but not uncommon. Well, maybe uncommon, but not unheard of.

I'd prefer the method of planting a tree and fertilizing it wit the Placenta. It's a bit less icky.

Hacking and theft/property damage are two different acts. One may contribute to the other, but again I use the comparison to gun owners. Capability is not liability.

Here's another... if all hackers are thieves, then all Muslims are terrorists.

Hackers are like anyone else who enjoys the mental challenge of solving a puzzle. What the hacker does once the puzzle is solved is a separate issue entirely.

No offense but you would have saved a but load if you would have took the proper precautions .

Not that what he did was right . But its kinda like catching aids . You knew there was a risk and you didn't protect yourself properly .

Scientology is in the same boat as Mormonism in my opinion. It was founded and started by a complete lunatic with HEAVY ties into Masonry and other occult practices. It's followers are fanatical and incapable of taking an objective look at their beliefs and 'leaders'.

L. Ron was a student of Aleister Crowley for God's sakes....

This is not a simple internet prank. This is internet terrorism in its fullest form - one which I support. The anonymity of the internet in a world where the government knows everything is the biggest weapon people have. Not only is this the start of a large movement, but likely one that will eventually push the government out of the internet.

Oh God.

Talk like this is going to lead to the end of the internet. Mark my words.

The internet is not anonymous. Google Echelon for a start.

Attacking scientology allows them to develop a martyr/victim mythology, which they use to great advantage in their internal promotion.

So much so, in fact, that I'd suggest they attacked themselves, and promoted it as being targetted. Now where have I heard that idea before?

As for real attacks, plenty of them have happened as well so there's no way to tell the difference.
