He means being the "son of god". Which means you are a loyal servant of god. I don't think he is referring himself as "a god".

I mean she whoopps

Ok (though you could believe you were God's daughter, and I'm honestly not bothered whether Jesus could come back as a woman or not).

Where did the post from "Yessy" Go? Cos' that sounded like a poor attempt at converting us, a jibe by someone, or the post of a believer.

*EDIT:

Missed it when I hit END. But it stills sounds like what I said to me.

I'm not here to turn any atheist into believers. I have one question for you my friend. Have you ever read the bible?

LOL! No, I don't think that either. I have no special status with our heavenly Father. In fact, I do not count myself as even worthy to serve Him.

Why don't threads like this get deleted?
"Here's a fantastic story I just wrote on the fly, now, buy into it!"
"What about...Y'know, proof?"
"THE PROOF IS ALL AROUND YOU! It's Sooooo Obvious! If you can't see it, I can't SHOW it to you!"

Right.
What's with nutters and this coming to these boards? They probably sit around all day after posting this threads, with some sort of smug, unearned sense of self-satisfaction because of that ONE guy who always asks the legitimate questions on how he too can become a part of this grand piece of poor-quality fiction.
I guess what's even more infuriating is knowing how hard these people want to know something they've created exists.

These posts are just like those, "I'm a time travel named *Insert outlandish name*" or "*Insert name of famed actor/politician* IS A REPTILIANOID.", or y'know- Any of the other clearly insane posts about their "Sources" informing them of massive government conspiracies.
But hey- At least the Reptillian followers provide pictures. Which are laughable, at best- But it's better than "The truth is all around you."
Just imagine if school teachers pulled that line.
"Can you explain multiplication again, Mrs.?"
"Well, Timmy, the answers are all around you! But if you can't see them, I can only pray for you. Better luck next year."

I guess that's it. And, to the OP- Illusions of grandeur are a symptom of schizophrenia. Maybe you should get those messengers of God in your head checked out.

First of all, you've quoted the bible completely out of context. You can't take any and every line of the bible and arbitrarily use it wherever you like to help make a point.

Second, more on that holy book, we know for a fact that the majority of the NT was written 60-200 years after Jesus' death and the whole thing was screwed, blued, and tattooed by the Romans to fit in with their skewed idea of what they needed to make their people listen. Given that, how can you use it as your one true source or even still consider it 'The Word'. Who's word? Some Roman's word?

Third, 6-6-2-7-6... I'm not even sure where to start on this. Technically, we're "The United States of America"... so I guess it should be 3-6-6-2-7-6. So, since we're adding numbers arbitrarily, wherever we like, I guess we can ignore the fact that you're comparing apples to oranges. Your point is made in English. What language was the bible written in? So maybe they predicted by the time those numbers needed figuring out, we'd all be speaking English - a little far fetched, but it's one of those 'god knows all' things that is neither provable nor unprovable - so I'll give it to you. Instead, let's look at the language it was written in. What seems more logical - 666 is three English words arbitrarily thrown together "United States Dragon" which hardly even means anything without some far fetched religious rambling or it refers to some Hebrew letter-number translation.[sarcasm] I'm no expert in Hebrew, but I've watched enough History Channel to know that it has something to do with Judaism and the language has something to do with letters and numbers. [/sarcasm]

Fourth: somebody above me made a very good point. If satan is a big dumb schmuck who cannot challenge 'father', and - according to your book - god is all knowing, all powerful, omnipotent, all that jazz - then why the worries? Sounds to me like big red's gonna get powned.

Fifth, and this I admit is completely off topic and a huge tangent and therefor I expect this to be ignored [but I'm on a rant and I can't help myself]... if god is all knowing, all powerful, omnipotent - the whole 9 yards - why is he jealous? Your book states over and over and over again that he's jealous. Jealousy spawns from an ignorance - from the dictionary:

1. jealous resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another's success or advantage itself.
2. mental uneasiness from suspicion or fear of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims.

Well, that just doesn't add up to me.

I could go on and on, but I don't think I need to. I'm sorry, I'm sure you're a nice person and all - and you seem to have put some amount of thought in this and for that reason, I see no reason this should be deleted - but we've all the right to be heard the same as you. I've simply no patience for religious mumbo jumbo that is based on nothing opaque and who's only source is some book which I feel, based on it's history, has no accountability.

Hey, maybe you could rework it a little, add a few more characters, it might make a great sci-refi book.

Yes I've read the Bible, in parts. (Too boring to finish :lol

There are some ok messages in there, but I don't buy the whole "morality comes from God/Bible/Religion" thing. I also don't believe in God. (I'm Atheist. What can you do?
) There may have been a "Jesus" who prophesied stuff, but tbh if he started out Jewish then started his own religion (Or was that a disciple later?) or layed the ground work for it, he sounds like another crackpot to me. (Albeit one with unusually sound principles, but not mystical)

Lol at Sci-fi book comment. I agree. (No offence OP, I just can't believe you; my benevolent alien overlords tell me that your god is a figment of your imagination, and the proof is there for you to see, but you have not grasped it, and if you can't, noone can show you the true way.)

Hi,

So you believe the government will be using a very cunning plan of reverse psychology to convincing us that there are no aliens, so we will think that the UFO's in the sky ARE aliens instead of the military? That the military will be using them against Angels all for the sake of helping Satan?

Are the Angels in the sky too then? Where will they be for this assault? What will these UFO's be firing on? Do Angels have their own UFO's too?

Sounds like a lot of work for nothing really. They could easily claim that the UFO's are actually government created due to top secret discoveries and advancements. Aliens don't even need to be added to the equation at all and the plan you suggested will still work. Advanced human tech would even be more believable to the public anyway.

It's an interesting idea, don't get me wrong, but I believe that the advanced tech we see is not from the bumbling, unintelligent "Satan" you describe.

Then why worry about him at all?

Let them play out the planned warfare as you believe it's scripted. There shouldn't be any last minute edits for anyone to fret about because you believe that God is ultimately in control. He wins. End of story.

Right?

No offense taken.
If you don't believe in God or the Bible, why would you believe this? It makes complete sense that you wouldn't.

Just be prepared because without the belief in Christ as Lord and Savior as well as a good heart condition - you will encounter Father's wrath on judgment day. God bless.

Folks, deny ignorance.

Uh-huh...

Yep, using fear as a means to persuade people. Makes me think of things I can't name **cough**Al-Qaeda**cough** right **cough**Rudy Guiliani**cough** now. Hmmm, using fear propaganda to get what you want is an extremely unsophisticated thing to do. Would've thought God could do better than that...

Also, don't you see that by saying in so many words 'believe or suffer', that you're actually pushing people AWAY from God and not TO him?

That's the thing, the biblical God punishes and is somebody a sane man would never want to meet.

Please read:

Proverbs 13:24, 20:30 & 23:13-14

It's clear that whenever children get out of line they should be beaten with a rod.

Exodus 21:15, Leviticus 20:9, Deuteronomy 21:18-21, Mark 7:9-13, and Matthew 15:4-7

Those clearly state that if children dare talk back to their parents they should be killed.

What about Leviticus 25:44-46?

God clearly condones slavery.

Exodus 21:7-11

So God also allows for your very own daughters to be sold into sexual slavery, this is very explicitly stated by the great creator of the universe.

It makes perfect sense why people wouldn't follow these obscene laws in this day and age. We have exceptional common sense and that common sense helps followers of faith cherry pick their holy texts of morals. I don't know about you guys, but, I don't want to subscribe to this kind of nonsense.

i usually just stay in the shadows (figuratively speaking) but i feel i must speak out on this. i don't mean to insult the Christians/OP intelligence and/or beliefs but... come on.... seriously!

i fully agree with you memoir. however keep in mind that i was raised in a very devout Christian family (mother was an evangelist, stepfather was a pastor). i was FORCED to go to church in excess of 5 times a week and FORCED to read/memorize scriptures (I admit i never read the whole bible but enough of it to get the "just of it") and, therefore, FORCED to think a certain way. fortunately for me, i was erudite enough at a young age to think abstractly which ultimately led me to think for myself... i.e. be a leader, not a follower.

to add to one of memoirs points:

i'm not sure if anyone has tried this but, if you get a chance, get at least 20-30 of your friends/family in a room and stand in circle. now, turn to the person to your right and whisper a secret or random fact; it doesn't matter. Then have that person do the same with the individual to the right of them. When the person to the left of you receives this information, thus completing the circle, ask him/her to state what you "said" aloud. I GUARANTEE the last person will NOT say what you initially said; hell it'll probably be so far off that you'll all get a good laugh out of it.

I think this adds to what memoir was saying because the fact that the bible was written in a different language leaves an absolutely IMMEASURABLE opportunity for things to be lost in translation. Now, couple that w/ the fact that the New Testament was written some 50+ yrs. after Christ's death. IMO that must surely lead one, to some degree, to think that important and even very minute details of Christ's life had/has been slandered and/or altered much BEFORE someone(s) decided to author the NT.

So, in the end, what do you have? IMHO a bunch of rumored hearsay that, after numerous translations, is nothing more than a misinterpreted, fairy tale version of what actually took place. I'm not saying that I believe Jesus Christ never existed; i believe He is very much real, as is the Creator. I'm just saying IMO it's preposterous to state the Bible (the ENGLISH version of it, for that matter) as fact.

all of that aside, i think t's ridiculous to 1) take Bible verses out of context and apply them to any/every situation one sees fit (as religious folk so often do) and 2)assume your interpretation of the Bible is anymore right than the next man/woman's. I've heard the same scriptures used by many different men/women with totally different primary objectives (hard for me to express that but hopefully you get what i'm saying). sorry if I offended anyones personal beliefs as I didn't intend to. this post is just my opinion and nothing more.

Pfffft.

Whatever. That's crazy talk.

I suppose the next thing you're going to tell me is that cutting the hair on the side of my head is wrong. Or wearing 2 different types of fabric is also wrong.

Where are you getting all these obviously ludicrous ideas from? I mean c'mon!
