Yes you would receive treatment....

People go to get their own treatment because we live in a free market society, currently until the Socialist have their way, and under such a system, you can always pay for better treatment, just like you can pay more for better food, better homes etc....

As for how much is taken each month.. That's what you get when you become one of the evil 10 or 20 % and your paying the MAJOR, VASTLY MAJOR portion of the tax burden....

Of yeah, give the poor a tax break and tax the evil rich.. I'm not rich but look at what I pay....Give the poor a break???? Come on!!!!

I was poor once and I remember getting EVERY SINGLE PENNY BACK each year..What kind of break do they need? Many of the poorer individuals, especially those with children, actually MAKE money at tax time... My sister does...

So Socialist Health Care?

I'm going to go slightly off topic here, but I feel the need to say this.

With each of your posts, you are willing to disclose some personal information on your past, present, and your accent to success. By your own admission, you have come from nothing and have managed success in the wake of tremendous adversity. Accomplishments as such deserve praise, but I'm sure you would turn it down anyways. With that said, I do sense a great deal of resentment towards those that came from nothing, and have failed to share the same success as you.

You have been offered an able body and mind where you can utilize each to succeed in life. Not everyone has and can. Some come from nothing and remain in nothing for much of their life. My grandmother had three kids and was widowed all before the age of 20. Back then, women didn't work. Where would she be without socialized programs? Where would she be without these tax breaks?

What about a woman today in that position? Would we punish her for fornicating? Maybe? I've heard crazier things.

All of this is completely ridiculous in my opinion. We live in a developed country where we can walk down the street embracing this freedom that we have been offered. And some of those among us actually cringe and grow frustrated when we like to raise the bar for all citizens? I'm not saying we chop anyone off at the ankles and keep them down.. but if you have an able hand, help a man out. Oh but I don't want the government to make me! Too bad.

I've said this plenty of times already, and I'll say it one more time. To each their own. But going around pissed off and resenting the little guy for needing a hand out from time to time is almost selfish.

This whole, I don't want the government to take it from me because I would anyways is hardly viable. I want the government to deduct it from my pay. Why? Because if they didn't, I wouldn't give it! I'd pay a bill, buy a new gadget, or spend it on my family. I wouldn't spend it on a complete stranger! Are you kidding me? I have my own to look after!

But you know what, if that's how we operated, our society would deteriorate quite quickly. We need the government to make some of these decisions and handle some of this money, because if we didn't have them do it, it would not get done. I'm glad they take it, because I've seen the benefits that come from it first hand.

Why continue to label me so that I fit into your agenda?

I have stated NUMEROUS times that I am all for programs for the "needy" and have reiterated over and over to you my disdain is for those that are not needy and yet take advantage....MANY

I have also been very clear in my statements as far as my contributions to charity are concerned. I will very confidently suggest I may donate as much or more than anyone I know of. Percentage wise I will match my charitable donations to anyones...

I have been crystal clear in explaining it is the mandating of my charity I oppose. It is the government reaching into my pocket deeper and deeper....

Yet you continue to make this about me. Grady was correct in this was never about "Sicko" but has degraded into making me out to be some kind of bad person because I don't want the government deciding where and to whom my money goes. Because all of you that so often lament the governments ability, all of a sudden have some magical change and will trust the government to run something as important as health care. All you guys do is slam the government in thread after thread, yet your willing to place your health in their hands... WHAT????

I know I sound a little offended here, but to blatantly ignore what I have been very clear about offends me. Especially when my life has been 100% about serving others. My profession, my education and everything about me has always been about serving others. The fact that I am informed enough to see for myself the historical facts that socialism does not work, that Conservatism is what this great country was built on and what will see Her continue, in no way makes me something less.. I would say my life makes me just fine.

I wouldn't give it! I'd pay a bill, buy a new gadget, or spend it on my family.

And yet this old Conservative believer in the Free Market, would and does..

Now that I have written this I find myself feeling foolish in even justifying myself in this. Those that know me, know who and what I am as well as all that I have stood for...

You honestly believe this thread is about you? Other then the one personal question where I asked what percentage of your pay was deducted, this thread is about socialized health care, not semperfortis. Grady seen it fit to chime in with probably the lone off-topic post, criticizing everyone else for being off-topic. Your title of the thread was an attack on "Sicko", a film that you have admitted to not viewing. Your thread was speaking against Sicko, but to be more specific, socialized health care. Myself, and others.. yourself included, have spent ample time here discussing just that, socialized health care. Not one another. If you feel as such, then I'm sorry.. but I don't see why you would feel this whole thread is about you.

Our system seems to be working quite well. You support your government and your ways, while bashing those in opposition. I'm here asking questions and trying to see both sides of the coin, to see if I am possibly missing something. These "conservative", "liberal", etc., labels only get in the way of having a positive discussion.

No, this is your opinion. If "conservatism" falls to the wayside for a few years, I hardly think the nation will crash and burn.

I felt it childish or I was going to post the 8 personal references to me having nothing to do with the issue...

Now as a Conservative I expect some flaming, but again, read the thread more closely and you will see it was getting way to personal and way off topic...

From having my profession referenced as Socialist, to being ripped apart and crying to what percentage of my pay goes to the needy...

I am no stranger to being slammed, but I take offense at the character of my charity being questioned considering what I do for a living each and every day..
