It was round and dark in color. It was visible to me approximately 38 minutes. I've got pictures.

I haven't been able to post pictures, for some reason, but I can e-mail them to the ATS. I need an e-mail address though.

I was hoping that you took some screen shots or did a save as. Send them them to me I'll host them for a day or two.

It looks a little like there are some chemtrails on the screen right now.

could also be part of a lens flare from the sun in that one.

Anyone have a clue as to what this is?
I don't see antenne or legs, if it's a bug on the camera lens.

The glow around it may just be jpeg artifact. I really dont have a clue. I was wondering perhaps if its a snail, but it doesnt look like it. Also, it was there for over half an hour. It could just be dirt on the lense, however I am not sure why it travelled horizontally across it if that was the case. Unless it is windy there. It also seems to have changed shape between the first two pics. Unless there are more collaborating reports of people seeing an object flying in that vicinity, I would have to hazzard that it is most likely dirt or mud on the lense. In fact, the camera is probably encased in plexiglass, so it could be on the plexiglass.

Thats just a guess though.

I was looking at it shortly after she posted, and it just... hung there. So it wasn't a bird or other flying object (my suspicion was bird dropping, actually). When I saw it being removed, I wondered if a human attendant had come in, removed the plexiglass shield, and wiped it clean.

I have to agree, it does look like dirt or some other matter. It seems really intense in colour which suggests that it is very close to the camera itself otherwise I would expect the hazing of the atmosphere to wash the colours out, especially at distance. If it was a UFO, I think it was either really really small and close to the camera, or it colour was so intense that hazing had no effect... For the record, I vote dirt or bug that flew into the lens at high speed and mangled itself - hence no legs or antannae

I'm usually pretty skeptical about UFO photos, but thats definitely ~somthing~
could be dirt or somthing bird poo, I agree about the density of colour but it seems to have moved in a fairly slow horisontal motion.

It can't be someone removing the cover to clean it, I know some pretty dense cleaners but none that would take 30 minutes to do it.

That means whatever it is went away either under its own steam or due to a natural event.

so far the only 3 plausable explanations I can think of are

1: a live creature on the lense.
2: grit that was blown off the lense.
3: a UFO

do we have any more info, description of its movement etc?

Byrd I don't believe Cosmic Conspiracies owns the Live Cam of Area 51. It say's the Rachel Cam. Now it's NOT working properly today. It's not dark there yet. How do I know? Because they are my neighbors and the sun is still high here! I e-mailed Rachel and haven't heard from them yet.
