The Sun's magnetic north pole, which was in the northern hemisphere just a few months ago, now points south. It's a topsy-turvy situation, but not an unexpected one.
"This always happens around the time of solar maximum," says David Hathaway, a solar physicist at the Marshall Space Flight Center. "The magnetic poles exchange places at the peak of the sunspot cycle. In fact, it's a good indication that Solar Max is really here."

This is an interesting read that says a new radiation belt was created when a huge solar storm sent a shockwave hitting the earth in 1991. Nothing like that has happened since 1962 when we exploded the H-bomb.
Crop Circles were first created by drunken students in the UK. There's every indication that they are still created by drunken youths with too much time on their hands and 'interpreted' by pseudo scientists with no credentials and no other hope to gain recognition in their lives.
According to this article, we still have a few more years before we start to see these effects, so don't jump into your radiation bunkers just yet.
