It looks like I am running 2 different projects. Both take 50% of my recources each. The Boinc Beta Test and Seti@home on the Boinc application. Is
this how it's supose to be? Do I need to loose one?Whats the difference between the two?
Thanks
Baked
The BOINC beta test is testing the S@H app and the Core Client (BOINC) for release. The S@H project isn't ready yet and the results/credits may get
reset. The S@H on BOINC url was leaked and the site isn't ready yet.
BOINC v3.08 and S@H v3.08 has been released for all platforms to the Alpha test. The benchmark for hyperthreading looks fixed now. Benchmarks are
automatic now.
BOINC v3.10 has been released to the alpha test, and planned for beta release in the next couple of days. For those concerned about the Public vs.
Beta issue, be where you want to be. It's preferred to use both actually. Just remember, before the site really begins their is a high probability
the stats will be reset.
BOINC v3.18 released for all platforms to the Alpha test. With all these releases recently I guess the launch is near. I'm now estimating a late June
or sometime in July launch.
The new Seti@home is now officially active! They've reset the project by deleting all results and workunits and setting all credits (user, team,
host) to zero. Yesterday the database server crashed and it's taken a while for the database to repair itself. Some message board postings and user
profiles may have been lost.
A new version of the BOINC Core Client was released today for Windows to take care of a condition where the client could end up spamming the server
while the project is down for maintenance. Please upgrade to 3.19.
