Yes it's best for members to push the alert button, but I don't have any problem with them reminding other members to behave. As far as I know, most members are not children. (although they do behave as such sometimes).

It does get annoying sometimes. If a member is directly telling you don't do this or that, it's really annoying and only starts an argument, which basically is counterproductive.

But I've seen some members politely suggest not to do this or that so you can avoid a warning. I don't have a problem with that, and I don't have a problem helping other members out that way.

Another thing I don't like is I've seen some people politely helping another out and "enforcing the T&C", only to have a mod come in and say leave the moderating to the moderators. But I've seen in this thread mods saying it's good because they can't see all the posts.

So I don't get it. Either appreciate it or don't.

I think you missed part of my point.

Yes it's aggravating to be called out by a member, when that happens, try to remain cool and just notify staff, instead of replying to that member about being called out.

If you do this, you avoid that "tag".

Yes, I've seen that too, heck I've even done it, however only after someone has stepped way out of line trying to moderate the thread.

I also think that a lot of times, a Mod has used that statement when it's been a repeat offender of trying to Mod a thread.

I admit I do Mod...politely.Unless someone is being a real jerk.
Then I do alert the REAL mods.

Careful how you use the "YOU, SIR."
That has backlash.
Sincerely,
Miss MOD.

Don't forget the little ignore link under your avatar. It helps you avoid knee-jerk, regretful replies.

Polite American did someone steal your candy?

Is there anything you like about ATS?

I do so appreciate the mods and other members that help to keep this forum civil. It seems much better to discuss our differences than to, "fight it out". If it weren't for them I would have a warn too for telling you how I feel about your assertations concerning mods and members.

Since when is it a great honor to be a mod. Do you realize what a responsibility and tough job it is being a mod? I would not want the job.

I am hoping your attitude will relax a bit. It can't be good for a body to stay all worked up.

Happy Holidays,
Dizzie

you sir are not a MOD and you dont HAVE TO "police" other members.
how about you mind your own business and maybe MAYBE they will one day make you a mod...but i doubt it

This site is the members. I never said I was a mod, nor do I "police" others. And seeing as you've only been a member for less than a week, you're in no position to tell other members how to conduct themselves here. If you don't like the members or the T's and C's then don't post here, it's as simple as that.

While I have no intention to touch any humps, lumps, bumps or mumps...

There is always the possibility that a member can be covered in feces for any transgression or posting indiscretion that may transpire on the AboveNetwork family of discussion boards.
