Wannabe Mods!!! AAARRGGHHH!!

Is anyone else tired of these ....ahem...people...that insist on policing the forums pretending to be mods??!?!!
You've seen them.
I wonder if they were the kids in 3d grade that always volunteered to be the hall monitor or cosswalk kid.
Constantly "warning" you and reminding you to "read the T&C" its like they want to be a mod so bad they can taste it!

funny thing is that thy are the ones that dn't make it to mods because they would abuse their position and ATS, in all their wisdom knows this.

then when you call them on it they go crying to a REAL mod and you get slapped for it!!

If people are reminding you of the T&C it is for good reason..

i don't like it at all. i see a new post in the thread and i go scope it out and it is something like that...

I think it's great. There are thousands of posts everyday on ATS. So if members remind you to read the T&C then they're doing it with good reason. Because we mods don't see every post.

how do you kow they are doing it for good reason though? how do you know they're not doing it just to be annoying as hell, or to suck up cause they want to be mod? you said yourself that you guys can't see all the posts....

it's annoying in the middle of a good discussion/debate

do you not think it would be better for the wanna be mod squad to just report the post to a real mod?

Its the members who take the time to pick the garbage up from the floors that help keep the place clean. Mods can't be every where at once. You your self have proved this with your little red tag, members do help.



Why did you not make a private complaint to staff, instead you post a little drama thread?

wow..loooke here..the mod squad starts to file in...why don't do mod squad use the alert button as well since they know everything they obviously know how it functions...

All you need to do is follow the T's and C's that you agreed to abide by on these forums. As long as you do that, you won't need to worry about people "policing you" in the first place.

the cool little red decal came from after i told the wanabe mod where to stick it.

whatever...i'm out of this one cause it is only a matter of time till the warnings come down...
i know i have had issues before and the mod would tell me to ALERT them....

it is just simply annoying....you're in a deep thread and you see a new post and you're ready to debate only to find out it is some member that posted a 'remember the terms'......thats all.

well well well..lookeehere the gang is almost all present.
you sir are not a MOD and you dont HAVE TO "police" other members.
how about you mind your own business and maybe MAYBE they will one day make you a mod...but i doubt it

So sorry but your wrong again, I'm an FSME not a mod a totally different animal. If I see crap I use the complaint link and a mod will be sure to have a look just like any other member of ATS.

i've been here four days and i already got a cool little orange decal.

As a moderator here, I appreciate the help, when a member takes the time to remind someone of the T&C's, however it also depends on how they do it.

As always we should be friendly and civil to one another. So I have no problem if a member leaves a friendly reminder of the T&C for someone in a thread. There are people who really are trying to be helpful and who don't want to see someone get in trouble for something.

It's all attitude, in how you take it and how you post it.

Yes, there are a few who want to "mod" the board and they go about it the wrong way, when you run into those members, don't take it in your own hands, please alert a staff member to handle it, this way, you might also avoid being "tagged" for something you might have said in haste or anger.

for me anyway, you nailed i...i am mostly talking about people that post a couple times in a 10+ page thread and you don't hear from them again untill they make sure to point out that you are violating the terms....
