No mention of any carbon dating on the materials brought out to date though - but as this is the very first I have ever heard about this story I have to watch this thread and read more.

That doc gives a date of circa 1575 AD. But does not directly refer to Oak Island case, can you link this further?
"Few people know that there was a successful expedition to the New World in the 1390s, led by Henry St. Clair and members of the prominant Zeno family of Venice. The trip across the Atlantic is well-documented, and later items that turned up on Oak Island seem to corroborate the presence of Scottish Knights. The St. Clair family, involved in the founding of the Masons, were very wealthy, controlling the Orkney Islands and owning extensive lands in northern Scotland. They may also have controlled the treasure of the Knights Templar, which was never recovered by their enemies. "
It is now known that the narrative was manufactured by the younger Zeno himself not long before the publication of the book, and the same is true of the map. So it does in no way reflect geographical knowledge in the 14th century. We now know that Zeno´s principal sources were Olaus Magnus´ map of the North, the Caerte van Oostland of Cornelis Anthoniszoon, and old maps of the North of the Claudius Clavus type with elements taken from southern sea charts of the 15th and 16th centuries.
Zeno probably put the book and map together for the purpose of giving Venice, the author´s native city, the credit for discovering America more than a century ahead of Columbus. In the bottom left hand corner we see two lands (Estotiland and Drogeo) that perhaps represent the eastern coast of America.

It would be odd if there was an abzu down there, but not terribly surprising.
