I call for Jesus Christ to return in 40 days, or for a great sign in the sky signaling his return.

This defeats the entire purpose in itself.

The entire premise of Christianity is FAITH. Which is believing without seeing or touching. God would not send a sign to show he is real or coming, if he did, that would nullify FAITH, which is the entire premise of the religion.

What you are asking should make no sense to you if you are a true believer. Requests like this can only come from those who do not believe whole heartedly.

There are people who already have faith, but are waiting for christ to return as the bible vows. When will this come true? Can we alter the date?

Hurray for nyk537! That's what I was talking about!

Why need a sign? Either you believe or you don't. Encouragement? I think that is given within yourself!

What a silly thing to say - the entire bible is about god fulfilling mans hopes and prophesies. I think it is you who has no faith.

See, that's the thing, it's always in bad biblical form to ask for proof, don't test god, we will all die if we saw god, therefore no person alive has seen him/her/it.

Therefore, no proof.

If god is so all powerful can he/she/it not show itself without destroying us, is that too much to ask from the 'creator of everything'? (as opposed to destroyer)

IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK!!!

Why are we left with any doubt at all?

To test our faith

Faith means to believe without question, well, sorry, I question everything, therefore I cannot have faith.
I tried to fool myself before, but I cannot stand if I am divided amongst myself.

I am agnostic.

Make me a believer!

It's funny, when I tried or sorta believed in a god, it was like an opiate, just like they say, but I need more to get my fix now, faith doesn't get me high anymore

Gimme the pipe of proof!

I don't know if you recall Exodus and the 40 years in the desert just wondering around... people grew impatient, people died and many other things happened there. Don't you think that maybe just maybe you're in the same position with those people back then?

Just being impatient waiting for something to happen isn't going to get you anywhere. The more you search for something the less open you are to other possibilities of other ways of receiving what you want/need. And most of the times you don't get what you want but what you NEED.

How will we know the sign in the sky is from God? How will we know that it isn't some type of HAARP hologram, or generated by some other supersecret method like the crop circles. I am convinced that the crop circles are made by satellites utilizing microwaves.

SS, I think you know something the rest of us don't.

I...who does not require proof that my God exists and is coming back for me, am the one with no faith?

I think the problem may stem from your complete lack of understanding of what faith really is.

That being the case...I can't help you.

Look, either god is real and fulfills his faithful servants desires, or he is a myth. I have faith that he’s real so I’m asking him to send back his son within forty days or indicate he is on his way as a gift for those who might be struggling with their faith. Do I not have the right to be proactive as a Christian, or should I just sit back and listen to a businessman’s sermon? My whole life is a testament to having faith.

You are a demanding soul, aren't you?

Just because you want Jesus to appear in 40 days, you can be assured that he won't appear as you wish; simply because you don't really need him. That is why he won't appear, as you wish. Millions of people in the past needed him much, much more than you need him. He didn't appear for the Jews during the holacaust in the 1940s and I'm sure their pleas far out pace you plea for his second coming.

I do not request on my own behalf, but on behalf of the millions who have been patiently waiting living or dead for his return.

If I was god...

and I had someone crying out that they wanted proof, or demanded me to bring my son back...I wouldn't. Probably because I'm an a** but its like spoiling a child. What do you do when your child starts pitching a fit, wanting this and wanting that? You don't give in do you?

Exactly.

What if I told you he's already here?
I'm "crazy," right? Yeah, keep thinking that.

For the millionth time I’m not asking for proof for me, but for those rightfully struggling with their faith.

Christ said, "I'll come as a thief in the night." What does that mean? It means he will be here and people won't even be aware of it. For how does a thief come? Without you knowing it.
It's also known as Parousia.

If ten million people read this thread and believed he was coming (which I’m not stating, just asking him to) he still would come as a thief in the night.
