Africans are less intelligent than Westerners, says DNA pioneer

I just seen this post.


Same crap as people claiming that man are more intelligent then woman or atheist are more intelligent then believer.
You have to hate it or you have to love it depending on your race, that is the sad thing.
This is what Dr. Jan Garrett said about this very hold debat:

"In the nineteenth century some anthropologists and biologists tried to develop a science of racial difference that reflected the view Appiah calls racialism. (473.1) Today, the overwhelming majority of scientists working in these areas reject racialism--its factual claims are not supported by the evidence".

What I am not happy about is all this so called great mind deluding them self with great enthusiasm in fulfilling some secret people agenda. They been manipulated and they intellect cant see it.
If any one have read Heidegger's biography, can see how people are so deluded when it come to promote one group above another.

I doubt about this point strongly. It cant hold water when considering some factors such as nutrition.

Maybe Affrians will be wise up if enough food and milk are afforded. Enough nutrition is very vital to the development of one's intellegence. IMO.

intelligence is as unique as character and has nothing to do with race, there are black physicists, doctors, surgeons, judges, and general tradesmen, quality of education may differ due to personal wealth but there are rich and poor of every race and what is the measure of intelligence, i wonder how this scientist in his prime would of fared without technology in the wilds of africa, my guess is he'd be begging tribesman for help after a very short time, in his environment he may be very clever but put him in someone elses's and he's comparible to an idiot

I'm not racist, and I'm all about equality, but I do not believe people are created equal. That's where it ends. People should all have equal birthrights, as a human being, and so all should be treated as equals. But this does not mean all are equals. I shared this opinion even as a former Agnostic Communist/Socialist.

Now I am not saying anyone is naturally more intelligent, I am saying some people are more intelligent though than others. No one can deny this. Is it all in the genes? I don't think so. Sure, perhaps some of it is in the genes, but your upbringing determines your intelligence. If you have good parents who send you to school, and force you to go, and you learn things, and your parents made you do your homework etc, you'll come out pretty smart regardless of race.

Likewise, if poorly raised, by uneducated parents, or lazy ones, and you don't goto school or do your homework, you'll grow up to be fairly ignorant and probably attempt to make your living on the streets. Again, regardless of Race.

It's unfortunate that in America there are more homeless and uneducated
African Americans than other Americans, I feel it is a product of the linger racism still present in our society, although heavily eroded since the 60's.

As each decade passes, the minority communities in America become more powerful, more organized, more intelligent, more aware.

And so as long as we have a decent system of equal opportunities, which we currently need to fix, I think in 20 years time, race will be nearly meaningless in regardless to social standing or intelligence, or any other stereotype or generalization.

I agree with an earlier post which stated a need to measure a person's intelligence. For the time being, one can do a little research for available statistics. Perhaps the good doctor is not so far off in his statements.

I think that this has NOTHING to do with science at all - even if this doctor is a Nobel Prize winner, his comments are a work of scientific racism. And as the article says, this famous doctor is known for his past contraversial statements regarding politics, sexuality and race. For example, he told a British newspaper that a woman should have the right to abort her unborn child if tests could determine it would be homosexual. Now what does that tell you of the state of mind of this super-scientist? I think some of these doctors and professors have a little case of GOD complex and think, that their own race or gender is somehow Superior. I'm going to say this right now from a non-religious unbiased point of view:

If there is a mental difference, it is so negligible that if raised with good education, the differences will be so unnoticeable they'd seem non-existent.

So, really, it should not matter.

I'll be called racist, prejudice, etc. But I agree with the man.

Africa is in total shambles with no end in sight, black neighborhoods are infested with drugs, crime, gangs and everytime a past colony such as Jamaica, Haiti, etc. is handed over to the majority black people there, it becomes extremely poor, crime infested, corrupt with no end in sight.

It is no accident or mischance that the western world became the most powerful and still is.

There is a difference between evolving and adapting. It's a fact that populations that have lived on higher altitudes have larger lungs. This is so that they can have greater air intake, from the thinness of the air they have to breath.

Is this evolution? No, it's adaptation. Same reason why we have different pigment skin. Some people's body has adapted to sunlight, while others who have less contact with sun light have paler skin.

Just thought I'd point out the biological sciences definition of evolution here

There were three other definitions before this what is what the 4. and the word biology is all about
4. Biology. to develop by a process of evolution to a different adaptive state or condition: The human species evolved from an ancestor that was probably arboreal.

Did you know that in Africa before the westerner messed it a round people where not dying of hunger?
It is not because Africans have not gone threw the same materialist evolutionary process that the westerner have gone threw , that we have to label them not advance.

You should check your facts. Africa has always had problems and hundreds of years ago Africans died from hunger just like many Europeans and Asians, etc. Africans enslaved each other just like all the other countries did.

The only difference: Africans are still enslaving each other, dying from hunger, fighting religious wars, engaging in genocide in which the West is not.

Blame the West for all of Africa's problems if you like, but African problems existed before Europe and the United States intervened there and afterwards till today.

I don't believe in this revisionist history that you are telling me.

No it's evolution. There DNA has changed to adapt their bodies to the conditions they live in. The argument could be made that intelligence does differ because people in Africa have largely remained stagnant they haven't been forced to change. MAybe because western an Asians civilisations have been in a constant state of flux, their intelligence has changed to some degree. The evoltionary process happens much quicker than most people think.

3) If you break down any group in to subgroups and then compare them...one of the groups will win. For this post, if you test a group of whites and blacks one of the two will win. doesn't mean one is better then the other but it does mean that one group is better at whatever the test was.

He didn't mention them because, he doesn't lump them with Africans. Asia has had a constantnty evolving civilisation and their talent and brains probably surpasses the West. You can't even compare Asia and Africa, 2 completely different things. It's interesting the Asians look down on Africa as well.

The professor wasn't making that argument. Your point is moot. Why has African culture remained stagnant over millenia ? Answer that. Why are all other cultures advancing ?

Right, so if a black scientist claims that blacks are less intelligent you would believe that because he is black. Not a very convincing argument, I'm sure you could probably find one though.

Well he may have some different opinions about how DNA could be used, but nothing he says is impossible. I'm not sure about people being homosexuals because of their DNA, though.
From what I've seen in Africa, I don't think his points are entirely invalid.
