Thats odd, A good customer of mine just had a bad vertigo episode and his wife had to take him to the hospital and I know he just got a dog not long ago. I will have to call him tomorrow and see if they ever found out why it happened. Now that I think about it he hasn't been in to see me in awhile and he usually stops in every other day just to BS.

Very interesting! I went to the hospital again for the relapse of this cold i cant seem to get over, and its back in my head again, and the doctor said my ears were fine and he attributes it to the upper respiratory infection. I've had no releif yet with the higher antibiotics and meds i've been given.
Everything still spins when i get in bed or out of bed.
I had to pick myself off the floor one morning.

Have someone go to a GNC nutrition store and get you two Bees wax candles and use them to clear out your ears with someone to help you. Get your docs permission to do that though because it could pull the infection to that spot more. I love those things, You wont believe what they pull out of your ears.

My sister-in-law is a doctor, and I heard from my brother there has been a big increase in cases of vertigo in my area recently. A virus is being blamed.

That is what my doctor said. Now we have to wait and see what kind of virus and how long does it last? I have two more pills left and i still get dizzy. This is on top of the previous ones that didnt do a thing for me.

I'm afraid if something else breaks out, i will have consumed too much antibiotics and i'll be in real trouble.

Yes and its more like a tall thin wax paper funnel, Just get one and read the directions. You will be shocked by how much wax it pulls out. You will feel weird because you can feel it being pulled out yet its not painfull at all.
My girlfriend is a med student and just to let you know, Anti-biotics do nothing for a virus. They are only for bactiria infections. Thats why your meds are doing nothing, slam lots of vitamins and get rest and let it run it course or go to a hospital if it dont go away.

It struck me that so many people experiencing the same vertigo symptoms around the same time as odd. I had vertigo a few years ago after a snow mobile accident. Vertigo itself is not a disease but a result a change. I wonder if the few people here could round about mention there location as in state or city where they had the vertigo event.

A sudden change in gravity can be caused by a earthquake or even change to the earths inner crust.

Please read this article about the relationship between them. There are many articles about this but this one seems to say it clearly.

Vertigo per se isn't contagious, of course - but viruses are. Maybe there's a viral infection spreading around.

Maybe there are elevated levels of hormones in the food (meat, especially). Hormonal disorders can cause vertigo.

There is yet another possible cause: perhaps some source of (inaudible) very high- or very low-frequency waves or radiation in the neighbourhood.

Be it as it may, 400 mg daily of Gingko Biloba certainly wouldn't hurt her - nor would the occasional sip of (or bite) of ginger, which chases viruses away, to mention just one of its many benefits.

She should be careful is she's taking blood-thinners - although, personally, I'd much rather kiss those goodbye and stick with the Ginko and the ginger...

Well there was a few out your way last month. The possibility is there that it may be causing your vertigo.

These earthquakes are small and may go unnoticed.

Check out your area here.

2 times in the last year when I was 27, I had what might be called vertigo. The first time I was dozing off infront of the computer and at one point I opened my eyes and it felt like a dull pain/spinning feeling. It didn't make the room spin or make me stumble, I had no other problems before that. Then happend again 3-4 months after that, just after dozing and then waking...in the tub. I just go to bed as soon as it happens and it lasts about a day but gets "better" after I wake up after a normal sleep.

My sleeping habbits are normal.

Omigosh! I'm much better!!!! Thanks for asking!!! Let me tell you, i did get the wax and followed the instructions!!! I'm so much better now!
I'm not deaf nor dead from it in fact i feel real good again. Thank you and everyone for the advise, apparently it worked. ( and yes, all kinds of goodies came out of my ears)

Causing one massive head rush and spin, but once i got over that i started getting better right away!

I would recommend it. Again, thanks

The problem is with everyone travelling so much lately, we are spreading diseases around like wildfire. Things that used to take decades to spread around the globe are being caught within days. We need to stop so many people coming here, esp. from middle-eastern and asian countries, where they don't control their diseases, and their animals are kept in the same locations as humans. How do you think this bird flu got started anyway?

I have vertigo, tinnitus, and was finally diagnosed with menieres. It took a long time to diagnose me. The doctor told me no salt, no smoking, no drinking. I said geez whats left? he said you still have sex and gambling
I took serc at first but no longer take it. Getting proper rest helps too. I've had this since 2004. I had to quite my job as a gold miner and now own a restaurant. I have to be carfull not to fall in the fryer

Do you have any ringing in your ears or hearing loss? what you describe is how i started. Although I would go through terrible bouts of vomiting until it was bile. (sorry for that
)

Nope, no ringing or loss and oddly enough, the dizzy/sick spells stopped and have not been back. I eat alot of "junk" food too and live with a smoker.
