ailen abduction on tape

The version made in 1984 was picked up by a japanese TV show. The one made in 1998 was shown on UPN. There may have been a real abduction video that these were based on to cover it up, which would be really interesting. But we know for sure the 1984 version and the 1998 version are fake.

Trust me, this one had me scared when I first watched it, and I wanted it to be real. It's pretty well done, but when you watch it knowing it's not real it just looks goofy.

Hmm, okay, so then BOTH of these Lake County videos are fake for sure? And there might be a 3rd, but we haven't seen it?

What about the Alien Interview video? No one has been able to prove for sure that it was a hoax right? I still think it's real...

I agree Diplomat. Apparently Victor did an interview on C2C, haven't heard it yet though.

If someone actually comes forward and admits to making that video as a hoax then fine, I will eat my hat, but for now I still think that video is genuine. All people ever say is that it's a puppet. Well I guess it's obviously a possibility, but that thing looks like a living being to me.

I remember this film, it reminds me of The Blair Witch Project (although I believe it was made just prior to it). It's quite entertaining, if not entirely convincing. Still a lot better than Signs though.

I saw this video a few weeks ago about this exact same discussion over this exact same video.
This is a remake of apparantly a real version.
The original is supposed to be a birthday party, this is a thanks giving.
To be honest Ive not seen the original and would appreciate anyone who can link to it.
I think ive seen a snippet somewhere, I remember they looked rather different to the people in this version.
Theres a corny racism sub-story carrying a 'message' within the story.
Its all very twilight zone on a camcorder.
This is 100% acted (badly) and if anyone doesnt believe it then I wish to inform you that the aliens where played by Shari Khademi, Myles Wolf, Zbyszek kazak and Janine Sikora who came down in their spaceship created by Clyde Klotz.

I cant believe anyone can hear them actors and think its real.
If this is the remake how bad is the original.

this isn't even a slightly convincing hoax. the alien threads and videos have really been getting progressively worse each month.

I provided a bit of the original in my post and you can see how as someone put it goofy the aliens look in that as well....the whole thing is a hoax.

I agree. In fact, I've been compiling a database of the more infamous ufo videos and photos for the last couple of years. The link in the OP is to the remake of "The McPherson Tape", also known as“Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County” .

Two versions of the movie were made, an original version and a remake. Both were directed by Dean Alioto.

Neither version shows a "real" abduction.

The "aliens" in the original version were children in alien costumes, as was revealed on an episode of the "Encounters" documentary series a few years ago.

The original version of this movie (which purports to show a family celebrating a birthday) was filmed in one night, with a budget of about $6,500. It was introduced into the UFO community by ufo researcher, Tom Dongo. He was shown the video by a friend.

Extracts from the original version have featured on several TV shows. It has been shown on a Japanese show and also featured twice on Encounters. On the first of the relevant episodes of Encounters, the video was presented without an explanation of its true background. In the second of the relevant episodes, that background was revealed.

The version of "Incident in Lake County" broadcast on UPN in 1998 (which purports to show a family celebrating a birthday) was a later remake of a budget movie by the same director, with more professional actors and a budget which was massively greater than that for the original version. The original version had a budget of about $6,500 whilst the remake had a budget of over $1 million. It is regularly shown in the United Kingdom on the Sky Movies channels

At that link, the director of both versions gives the relevant background. That includes the following in relation to the original version:

I hired a group of skilled improve actors, except for myself who played the 16 year old shooting the video, and shot the direct-to-video movie in one night, in one continuous take, on 8mm video. The guy who created the UFO craft and aliens has since gone on to be the production designer for the recent live-action Scooby-Doo films -- Bill Boes.

I've seen several people post emails on the ATS forum and elsewhere which imply that they think that the remake is genuine, or at least a reconstruction of real events. I'm not sure why people make such comments given the information presented above.

I'm glad to see that people are rationally accepting that this Lake County thing is all fake all the way. It's not based on a true story and there is no "real footage".

I got caught up in two of those older threads and was almost driven insane by some posters who just wouldn't accept that none of it was real. The more evidence we threw at them the more they denied it.

Ok so I read the thread. I watched the film (yes film!)

So apart from the credits showing actors, everyone seems to have missed the part when it says "Story by Dean Alioto" in the credits!

It's a fake and I'm really surprised that anyone can believe this!

Exactly. That imdb site shows the credits for the documentary ABOUT the alien interview, not just the alien interview itself. You are correct, there are reenactments which show aliens that are obviously humans in costume.

The ACTUAL interview footage though... seems pretty real to me. Hopefully we can find out 100% for sure one of these days...


And about the video in this thread, people are getting all confused again. There are TWO videos about the lake county incident people. The one that shows credits and everything is obviously fake, it is the other video that looks more realistic.
