Proves nothing though, since I could type anything I wanted in that box

That RNG sucks !!!! No offense. First of all it only goes up to 1,000 numbers generated, does it in an instand second, and you can't see the actual box/computer that runs the original program.

Won't work on there.

LMFAO! I love this. I think dominicus has alot merit with this post though. He DID provide a few links to where he got the idea from. Maybe not a fib.

This is an interesting thread on whether we might be sometimes controlling our environment with our minds.

I think that we can.

I personaly live upon this almost only idea for years and the results are amazing - if not sometime scary.

Dominicus you're right in front of all skeptics.

Yea,
I was actually surprised that sceptics are hanging out in the paranormal section of ATS !!!! That's quite shocking being that they wouldn't believe in anything that's posted in this section let alone believe in a God.

I thought this was the only safe haven, but I guess not.

ANyone try this yet?????

Skeptics believe in stuff, ok?
We really do.
It just takes a lot longer for us to be convinced one way or another.

So we are allowed to hang out in the paranormal area..

I will relate controlled randomness story of my own.

It was the early 70's, and I had 8 quarters.
In front of me was a Vending machine, a bubble gum style machine. Full of plastic dinosaur figures. I needed dinosaurs, to fight with my plastic army men, you see?

There were 12 different possibilities with each quarter..a tyrannosaur, stegosaur, etc, etc...One of each type was mounted at the front of the machine, so you could see what you might get.

I don't remember the correct order..but it went like this:

I looked at the tyrannosaurus , put in a quarter, that that is exactly what came out.
Looked at the stegosaurus, and again, thats what came out..
this continued for all 8 quarters..Whatever I looked at, is what came out.
It freaked me out a little..I never really told anyone, until just now.

Nothing like that even happened again.
Coincidence?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this, but it could be that you're eyes are seeing what you want them to see, you know?

If you look at fuzz long enough, you can see the entire Star Wars Trilogy played out in front of you, it doesn't prove anything. The case with your friends could be your putting thoughts in their head.

For example, you say "Watch the screen, I'm going to make the fuzz assemble into an erupting volcano" So, your friends stare at the screen LOOKING for the volcano, so of course they'll see it.

If you were manipulating the fuzz when you're mom passed by the first time, why didn't she see what you were doing? She look at the screen, right? I think it's just a mind trick. That's just me, though.

I guess this kinda is like the times when you know the fone is going to ring and you know who is going to be on the other end, or when you randomly think about someone and they call or they turn up @ your house.. this happens to me all the time.

I occasionaly wake up in the middle of the night and have strange gut feelings to call people and over 90% of the time there is something wrong or something has happend that is significant to them.

Oh and another thing that happens to me sometimes is when you are looking out of a window or walking down the street and I see someone that I dont know then have a weird feeling that something will happen and then they trip up or drop something..... Very random and weird indeeed.

I tried that with tv fuzz years ago, and I saw all sorts of things. I do wonder if the pictures that you see made up of the black and white dots that seem to stick together in spots could be just seen with your own mind though, like scrying really, you know? (same principle as crystal gazing in other words)
But I will give it a go for sure sometime with a watcher, and not say what I'm doing first to test that theory out, I think that there is no reason why it couldn't work.

Try throwing dice and making it land on what number you want. I have done this before on the odd occasion playing monopoly. I shook the dice in my hands, and said what number I needed to land where I wanted, and lo and behold the two dice consistently gave me a number each that together added up to the right amount, time after time.
The people that were playing with me on those occasions for the first few times kept saying it was flukes, then after awhile, they didn't say anything, just glared at me
I don't know how I did it, just that it only happened many times in a row when I was feeling relaxed, happy and firmly believed I was going to get the right numbers. I'm not saying I'm telekinetic, but it happened every single time I picked up the dice for at least twenty rolls at a time. I'm no math genius, but that seems pretty unlikely to me, based on chance alone.

I reckon all people have the capacity for affecting things by thinking it. Fits in well with Quantum Mechanics doesn't it. I think the more we (as a species) discover, the more we will realise how interconnected everything really is underneath all the surface layers. Sure is an odd universe we live in thats for sure.

Check out the retropsychokinesis experiments. They've been online for a long time already. It's from the Fourmilab in Switzerland.

There are quite a bit of research papers on the subject as well.

did you and your friends when looking at the screen tell each other what you where seeing, if so wouldnt it be better if your friends sketched what they saw without you telling them and afterwards you describe what you where doing and see if any of their pictures match up

Lets say you want to see a tree on the static, you stair and think until randomly your mind finds a match to a tree.

If you are serious, record 5 minutes of static on a VHS, then go back and make it first be a tree, then a sailboat, then something else, that will show it is your mind changing not the input of static to the TV.

or

Have write a thing on a piece of paper, a elephant lets say, look at tv, make elephant appear, then without telling others, ask them what they saw.(note this can have errors if you are actually just using thought projection)

Also, this was mentioned in the Carl Sagan book Contact, in the movie Jodi Foster was said to stare at static on TV trying to find patterns in the noise. Or was that listen to a wash-machine. hmmm

Ghosts in the machine...

No offense takin.

The things is, when staring at the fuzz with mother or a friend, I'll create an image or turn pinwheels in certain direction, pyramid or what-ever, and the person with me will yell out what they see, which is exactly what I created.

Same thing when I'm watching, I'll see the image that the person is creating.

So obviously it's not something only i'm seeing or creating in my own brain.

I personally believe peoples' mind can influence electronics and physical matter--from what I know, Mind is the builder (able to manipulate matter). Our brains are very powerful and modern science doesn't know everything, like some people think. We have the Endocrine system, each part of it being one of our 7 chakras. RNG that produce not so random numbers is some proof that telekinesis is a real thing.

I have tried the random number generator but not in the way you guys said. I set the number range from 0-20, and the numbers shown to 3, repeating numbers allowed. I then tried to guess guess what number will show up in the group of 3.

I closed my eyes and thought of a random number. I then clicked "generate" and the number I thought of showed up 9/10 times I've tried it before re-reading thread and noticing this wasn't what I was supposed to be doing

But whatever, just something I thought I would throw out.

Of course this is exactly what is happening.

Either that or it's a pack of lies (what's a 'fib')?

Self-deception and wilful deceit are the only possible explanations here.

Watch what happens when so-called psychics actually have to put their money where their mouths are.

Why are self deceit and willful deception the only possible explanations? Or are all the scientific experiments, like the ones in my link among others, also deceptions?

A compilation of the results in the experiments.

Only believe, and all things will seem possible

Because, dear Bandit, they are. Squillions of real scientific experiments, by real scientists, have failed to find one iota of evidence for so-called 'mind over matter' powers. I know you believe otherwise, but you are wrong.

Or are all the scientific experiments, like the ones in my link among others, also deceptions?

All deceptions, I fear, deceptions every one.

Were it otherwise, we should all know about it. The results would have been repeated. The formerly 'supernatural' lore would become a science, which would give birth to a technology that would be available in the high street and on the internet. But -- as sensible people know -- the stuff that is available commercially is just snake oil of various kinds.

www.fourmilab.ch...

Is 'fourmilab' just a coincidence, I wonder, or an attempt to gull the unwary into believing these results are published by the genuinely scientific, highly respectable Fermilab?

well I have to say, I do apologize for my previous comments on this thread. I tried this randomness thing with a penny that I was flipping. Recorded the number of heads and tails without conscious intervention and again when I was trying for heads. I will say that the turn up rate significantly increased.
