Fox reporter physically shapeshifting on camera (video)

His contract may require he report from off camera? Who knows?

Nothing suspicious about it except that either the reporter or the director (if one was there) don't do their job very well.

News anchors do this move all the time. Watch, listen and don't read into it.

The man is talking about a school then steps out of the way so the cameraman could zoom in on the School Marque. Happens all the time watch other clips on the news.

The distortion on his face is just bad compression rendering.

Surely if there was an issue with the broadcast, all imagry would be affected?

Usually, a reporter will introduce an issue, like "behind me here is bla bla bla" and yet, nothing...just a very abrupt exit and he actually looks concerned. I don't know what to think but this vid is weird. When someone provides something similar that supports transmission errors or breaks in reception then I will be convinced.

The sign at the back does not change at all.

ok, have you seen other vids with bad compression rendering? I would like to compare or at least decide for myself viewing other vids.

If you watch enough videos online you will find more videos with similar distortion than you can count. The video is unremarkable to say the least.

Yeah,this seems like a potential candidate, especially the lagging and rebuffering. the only question that remains in my mind is, why does it only
show the lag and rebuffering when the video that has no anomalies is uploaded to youtube? does the compression remove a layer that somehow corrects the buffering and lagging?

It's so ridiculous. Why don't you contact Oto from DS9 and ask him if this guy is his long lost brother. And while you're at it, have him throw you in the holding cell.
I can't believe how many people here are automatically assuming this is a shapeshifter -- like the footage is so convincing or something... jeebus.

At least the grey alien guy in the white house looked like the figure of an alien... this is just a tampered-with video which you found on youTube. I don't remember seeing this at all when I watched the original footage from the Fox website. There was no junk on the guy's face. If you saw the original video, you would know that too.

He is no shapeshifter... come on people, get a grip on reality before someone in your family has you committed. And if you won't do it for them, do it for me. At least I'll feel better about talking to you if I know you're sane.

Dont know if that was mentioned before but almost all the reporters have a small earpiece plugged in in case they need some directions from the studio or some information..
My theory is that maybe somebody in the studio saw the glitch and asked the reporter to move away because his face started changing ...

That would explain the sudden reaction of the reporter like "wtf ok lets cover my face and get out of sight"

Nobody in the studio asked him to move as there were no glitches on the original, they only appear on the version uploaded to youtube as they are a result of the compression used by youtube.

No reptiles here i'm afraid, it's amazing how a one page thread can go so far.

Half the videos on youtube have this same distortion

can someone pls post a link from youtube where the anomalies happen from compression in a similar video...if someone can post a link then theres a good chance i MIGHT think this is not real...

It *is* a compression glitch as many others have correctly posted. It is a color tracking glitch and is one of the reasons in the movie business we did not view compressed shots unless it was to look at timing, etc... in which case the color didn't really matter.

This type of compression bug happens usually on contrasting colors and areas that border others, which you can plainly see on the edges of his jacket,which *almost* but not quite tracks with the colored object in question. You can see this at I believe 2:20 on the guy's forehead where it looks like 3 lines appear, however when his head moves they don't quite move with him, and in fact appear to move a little past his hairline where it meets the background ...it looks kind of like the glitch where the weatherman would have something blue on when he was standing in front of the blue screen. Same effect, different cause.

You can also see the same thing on the girls cheek as the artifact moves around and does not stay with her movements.

That explains why you don't see the effect on everything in the video, and it is on mainly contrasting moving colors.
