The best advise I think anyone can give you, is to gert some books on the subject and read up on it. My favorite author is Robert Monroe as he trys hard to take you with him on his journeys via the written word.......but for step by step HOW TO you can't get better than Robert Bruce.

I know that I cheated and got a big hand OUT, but I can tell you that its NOT the way to go. The difference is like having someone read to you, becauese you cant read...... and you knowing how to read yourself. Sure I got out but I had no idea how to really DO THIS on my own steam. 4 years later and I am still learning some true basics................
Anyway here is a link to my big thread, and its packed with so many good suggestions, AP links and different techniques of HOW TO:

first off, nice topic, great thread

well, i'm a drummer and sometimes while practicing with one of my bands or a gig (If I forget to wear my earplugs), i'll get temporary tinitus which is a nightmare. By the way, its caused because the ear canal is coated with all these little hair-like structures (forget what they're called) which respond to different frequencies of sound. After being exposed to very high noise levels, these can carry on firing after the sound has ceased, causing you to 'hear' whatever frequency(s) the particular damaged hair-like structures are responsible for as a constant tone.

Now, Like I said, i get this occasionally and let me tell you it definately can be manipulated. with concentration I can indeed adjust the pitch of these ringings and even make them go away all together. This has taken me years to be able to do (I've been drumming for a long time), and it was only this year which I managed to make them go away.

I've never had an OBE but really want to experience them so I will definately keep this in mind.

Just out of intrest, how closely linked do you guys feel lucid dreaming is to OBEs??? I've been trying to lucid dream for a very long time without much success sadly so any tips would be greatly appreciated.....hmmm might start a thread with that in mind tomorrow.. oh well, like I said, great topic, I look forward to hearing from some long time OBEers.

Oh and by the way, I studied sound engineering at university just in case you were wondering.

I've read almost half of RiverGoddess's oobe thread and let me tell you. It's jam packed full with the best damn info you can get around here. The only problem is it started 3 YEARS ago. So as you can expect it's quite lengthy. There is more than enough to information and stories to fill several books quite easily so it really takes a significant amount of time to sit down and read what is being revealed to you. However, if you do it's very well worth it. If you don't then just read the first 5 pages. There is lots of info in the first few pages to make it worthwhile.

Hi RiverGoddess, I got close last night. The buzzing got loud but it faded as I couldn't concentrate on nothing. I am getting closer and I can tell it's making me physically exhausted for some reason. Every morning after I try this my body is soooooooo drained I find it near impossible to get out of bed.

Back to my studies. Good luck all.
