first off, nice topic, great thread
well, i'm a drummer and sometimes while practicing with one of my bands or a gig (If I forget to wear my earplugs), i'll get temporary tinitus which
is a nightmare. By the way, its caused because the ear canal is coated with all these little hair-like structures (forget what they're called) which
respond to different frequencies of sound. After being exposed to very high noise levels, these can carry on firing after the sound has ceased,
causing you to 'hear' whatever frequency(s) the particular damaged hair-like structures are responsible for as a constant tone.
Now, Like I said, i get this occasionally and let me tell you it definately can be manipulated. with concentration I can indeed adjust the pitch of
these ringings and even make them go away all together. This has taken me years to be able to do (I've been drumming for a long time), and it was
only this year which I managed to make them go away.
I've never had an OBE but really want to experience them so I will definately keep this in mind.
Just out of intrest, how closely linked do you guys feel lucid dreaming is to OBEs??? I've been trying to lucid dream for a very long time without
much success sadly so any tips would be greatly appreciated.....hmmm might start a thread with that in mind tomorrow.. oh well, like I said, great
topic, I look forward to hearing from some long time OBEers.
Oh and by the way, I studied sound engineering at university just in case you were wondering.
