John Lear........disinfo agent???

MajorMalfunction, I see you post just about everywhere. Is that how you got all those ATS points? >_>

Back on topic, I just can't see how he can be a disinfo agent. If he is, that only leaves two possibilities:

1. John has tricked the entire ATS staff
2. The entire ATS staff also works for the government

Considering the old "...but you can't trick everybody all the time" phrase (can't remember who said it), there's no way #1 can be possible, and if #2 is true, then we might as well jump off bridges.

No, I got a big chunk for butting in at the UFO Expo. Springer or Mirthful Me or somebody thought I was helping for some strange reason.

I haven't followed John Lear's claims too closely, but I've looked into a few. I'm not really sure what to think. I find his claims extremely difficult to believe, to say the least. (no offense) However, I also find them presented in a clear, logical, and intelligent manner, which is something that is missing from 99% of people claiming the types of things John claims.

Is his story true? I don't buy it, but I think he believes it. I'm not trying to be harsh to John, as I enjoy reading his posts and find him to be a generally nice guy. I just cannot believe many of the things that he says.

Believing everything somebody says blindly would be foolish, and I'm sure that he understands that. I take what anybody says with a grain of salt until I can study it further. If I can't study it further, I just keep it in the back of my mind, ready to mention if anything about it is ever brought up.

I see this thread often and kind of wonder myself, being who I am.
I first came on this site when SERPO was going strong. I was one of the "ones" of many that lots of folks here, thought was a leak of " SERPO" to ATS . Because of my relations to Milton William Cooper, who served with me aboard the USS Oriskany.

I was a Barn-owl (VA-215) from aug 1972-aug 1975 (The Aviary , comes to mind....many, must have thought after they did a little research)

What I can tell you, is that I believe that there is alot that is held back (by the US government)

I did, Myself ..see a few things. (so has alot of us)

I believe that we should hear EVERYTHING that Mr. Lear has to say.

THESE ARE MY JETS (see the owl face on the nose "barn owls", we were an attack aircraft with 20 mm cannons and lots of bombs, and drank alot while on liberty!! ) the "orange "UFOS" arre the real deal I think, and they are the "bright" orange UFOS...that I'm talking about.

Labelling people as disinfo agents reminds me of the medievil witch hunts.
God even i've been called one once for disagreeing with someone. I was like what the???

By the way, disinfo is usually something to do with an established topic, and derailing that.

I have found Johns topics mostly to do with new ideas/theorys. This isn't disinfo.
Hologram theory etc is disinfo. Attempting to be seen as a part of the real logical conspiracy theory, in an effort to make everything apart from the official report seem stupid.

Johns posts are disinfo on what exactly? He says theres air on the moon. What other truth could this possibly be trying to lead us away from?

And if the big master plan is just to put some weird theories out there for the hell of it, distracting nothing from real issues, then that is simply ineffective, illogical and a waste of time.

This is why I often have no problem with John, he can say what he likes.

I don't believe a single one of John's theories, but he is far from a disinfo agent.

I haven't seem his post anything near as offensive as some of the crock that comes from the hardline skeptics. At least the believers tend to be the more polite lot. I don't care who you are or how popular you are, you should at least have some common courtesy, and it is because of that that i respect John.

Hell, John and Sleeper's theories give me a good laugh, but at least they are good people in the process.

It's simple really.If anyone else made any claims he has made they would be pushed for pictures or proof very very hard.Then labeled a HOAX and kicked form the site.SO WHY DOES JOHN STAY.

He makes the most ludacris claims I have ever heard and does not give one dabble of fact or proof.Hell I just looked at military pictures of 911,and good ol JOHN said well thats the same view you would get from the blah blah mounted on the space station.Super energy weapon or some garbage.

WHERE IS HIS PROOF.Oh wait,I'm sure every has seen pictures of other planets with mountains and rocks highlighted and thats suppose to be a alien city.This latest 911 picture claim is just insane.I truly am starting to think there is more to John and maybe ATS in gereneral than simple imagination.I mean John had his own forum now,wtf is the deal.

I agree to an extent. I really wish you would reformat your message to include spaces and correct some spelling errors, though. You have no idea how easily posts are overlooked just because of bad format.

For instance, if I see a topic that starts out like "OMIGOSH YOU MUST SEE THISUFO I FOUND IT IN MY BAKCYARD ITS SO WONDERFUL...", I may skip it because I think it is a n00b speaking, but sometimes, the person is being genuine. This is ATS, and it being such, people expect a certain level of decorum. Anybody can type any which way he or she chooses, but the ones that are more thorough and "look pretty" get read more often.

But enough of that. I do agree that him having his own forum confuses me a little bit and that it is probably because of the "star" factor. Still, unlike anybody who posts a random story on here, John has a lot of credentials to back up his claims. When a random user posts something ludicrous, there's really nothing to back up what he says. When John posts something, he puts all of his previous experience on the line.

One thing is for certain: This is ATS. This is, supposédly, the most advanced conspiracy forum on the site. It would be hypocritical to not allow conspiracy theories about the ATS staff, right? I mean, if somebody posted something to the effect of "I think Vagabond (no hard feelings from that one time, lulz) is an alien from Omicron 85", then yeah, it should be deleted, but if somebody actually posts something of logic that leans towards a conspiracy of some sort, it should be allowed.

Perhaps you should make a topic in the General Conspiracies Forum stating a conspiracy of John getting his own forum. If your post is using the upmost logic and reasoning (well-thought theories, no flaming, etc.), I cannot see why it would be deleted. That way, you will either receive no response from the ATS staff (strengthening your theory), or a "thick" response from one of them giving details about why they thought he deserved his own forum. Then, you could go from there (keeping maturity, reasoning, and logic in mind at all times).

Just my two cents.

Also I'd like to ask John if he gets any of this information from inside scources in NASA.If so could you say their name?Also how did you get so into your theories with what appears to me to be a lack of proof?

To jump back on topic, I forgot to say earlier that no matter what John is (genuine or disinfo/misinfo), I still respect him in the same manner that I respect the ATS staff and a lot of other ATS members--because he acts professionally, can take a joke, and is able to handle pressure and flames with fair ease.

Actually, most here, who know me, know and understand that I am a good hearted skeptic/sceptic. I really want to believe. I have been a fan of John Lear for a number of years. Actually, wanted to meet him, but as I don't get out to UFO conventions much, I never had the chance.

Last week I responded to one of John's posts and after the fact, I considered that I may have come down a bit too hard. I sent John a U2U, apologizing for my act, and explaining that I had not meant to be unkind.
John responded in a very friendly and open manner. Even called me "friend"... And guess what! I am a friend of his now.

It doesn't really matter if I buy into John's theories lock, stock, and barrel, or if I think him a complete fool regarding the material he puts out and I ponder. John is, in fact, a class act, and that is the real issue. All the other stuff we believe, or don't believe, doesn't really matter in the end, because it's either true or not, and there isn't much any of us can do about it. What matters is the way we pull off our actions and reactions in the world. Gentle people does it.

Thanks for being there John, giving me an opportunity to admire someone, and calling me friend, even if we think each other might be a bit strange.

haha i never post here but i read john's threads regularly and i must say this is the sanest thread concerning john that ive ever read. Seems like a good man but all claims seem to be Pseudoscience to me.

Guys, guys, guys......lol. Of course John and his supporters aren't disinfo agents, shills, or anything of the like. There will is no such thing as a disinfo agent anymore, unless you count the entire modern press, then yeah.....

For those of you that jumped off the deep and and took this a little too seriously....shame on you John's stories, although way out there, unbelievable, and outlandish are the most entertaining thing on ATS, and it never ceases to amaze me how many people eat his stuff up fanatically.

All in good fun, there have been some really intelligent posts on both sides within this thread, and it's maintaining the fun factor at the same time. When we all take this so seriously that we can't laugh at each other and ourselves we should go to a stamp collecting website or something. As fun as all of this alien/ufo stuff is to talk about, we are fools for thinking ANYTHING we do, say, or "know" will ever make a hill of beans difference to anything, so lighten up, fancis
