I really dont think the American people are going to tolerate another unnecessary war. I think if he did attack Iran the people would rise up, he would be impeached along with his puppets. We cannot win a war against Iran, we can bomb them as much as we want, but thats not going to stop the millions of Iranian forces that are going to march into Iraq and kill our soldiers. We will be targeted at home as well, with terrorist attacks.

Bush tried to goad Saddam into striking first against US bases in Saudi Arabia, it didn't work so the NeoCons had to invent that bs about yellowcake from Nigeria and then all the WMDs that were all over Iraq and imminently going to be used against the US citizens on their own soil.

Now BushCo is trying to goad Iran into making the first move (something big against the fleet in the water nearby) and while I'm sure Cheney would like to pull off another false flag op on US soil (the nuke drills in Oregon were a test of just how close people are watching) they simply do not have the blind power to do this and get away with it. Bush is a lame duck, Cheney has been outed as a warmongering zealot and Rumsfeld was already quietly ushered out the back door.

I think we will see Cheney step down for 'heart problems' sometime and Bush will simply be a foolish puppet from that point on, they don't have the pennies in the piggybank to pull off another '911 and blame an innocent bady guy' routine and then pull the wool over Congress' eyes.

This doesn't mean that the big picture isn't still rolling along, you may think Alex Jones is a foaming at the mouth loon but that doesn't explain the FACTS that there are martial law drills being executed through-out the States, that people's civil liberties are being choked away one at a time, and that the police state is slowly but surely taking form before our very eyes. Whoever wins the next election will simply take up the torch and they will still beat on the terrorism drum so that the public is kept in a state of unease and stays willing to take all the bs like DNA based ID cards and complete insanity at the border crossings.

Bottom line is, all the companies and cronies who stood to benefit from a manufactured war on terror did and still are, so why do they need to go bombing Iran? They are still raking in trillions through corrupt enterprises within Iraq and will continue to do so for decades. Ask any US soldier returning what they think of the 'rebuilding of Iraq'. They will tell you, it is a complete joke and the only rebuilding going on over there is the bunkers to maintain Halliburton and Co. indefinitely. The Iraqi people are worse off than they ever were and that isn't going to change anytime soon.

Does everyone really believe this coming attack on Iran hasn't been planned for quite some time?
Please read ATS Member "slave" posting from back in April, 2006 regarding concentration camps on US soil:

American Concentration Camps

Why are concentration camps be needed on American Soil? This thread points out a very interesting point: As the original article (Haliburton News)

states:

The contract, which is effective immediately, provides for establishing temporary detention and processing capabilities to augment existing ICE Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) Program facilities in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs.

The "support the rapid development of new programs" is what sounds most interesting.
For more info on concentration camps just do a Google search for "American Concentration camps".

Additionally, HSPD 51(Homeland Security Presidential Directive 51) in conjunction with the Military Commissions Act of 2006 and the John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007 are the finishing touches on the master plan. The framework is in place for martial law to become a reality. Let us hope that after it is done that this administration does cede control in next years election.

U.S. seizes 'Iran agent' in Iraq

Wow, that's thin.

According to the military, the detainee was suspected of coordinating with high-level Quds force officers, whose goal it was to transport Iraqis into Iran for terrorist training.

So this guy was going to take some Iraqis from Iraq to Iran in order to train them as terrorists. Considering the very loose definition of terrorist training, this could mean anything from security school to farming 101.

I love how they tacked this on at the end:

Last month U.S. soldiers arrested -- and later released -- eight members of an Iranian government delegation at a hotel in Baghdad for allegedly carrying weapons without permits.

What the frick does that have to do with anything??
Diplomats in a hostile country carrying weapons.
Oh MY GOD! Shock and Gasp!
Or perfectly understandable, depending on how rational you are.
The fact that this was the only extra tid bit of "Iranian Evil" that they could use to paint the foul history of proven Iranian involvement in Iraq suggests that they are grasping at straws.

Wow, that's thin.

and that's exactly why i posted it here... instead of waiting for real / big news cnn and other news channels put those stories right into their headlines in order to keep the iran issue going... this is already an early form of starting disinformation / propaganda. if you believe it or not.

I understand ya.
I just wanted to shred the article a bit as a demonstration of critical thinking in the hopes of promoting the mind set to some folks who are more apt to simply believe what they are told.

What makes you think anything will change with the administration?

I've got bad news for you, the Government isn't running things.
Everything will stay the same. Only the faces and words will change.

George Carlin sums up the way things are really well right here:
HARSH LANGUAGE WARNING!!!

Hail brethren,

Sorry to butt in. I just wanted to add my view to this.

First off somebody mentioned earlier about the risk to oil if America attacked Iran. Now correct me if I am wrong but America currently occupies the country with the second/ third highest oil reserves in the world (can’t remember exactly) so I don’t think they need worry about that. Specially when you consider the 150,000 troops with the 50,000 mercenaries and the extra 60 or 80,000 more troops that bush has asked for (again correct me if I am wrong) I don’t think they will be leaving or dislodged any time soon and when coupled with the 20,000 dollar bonus to enlist with the army. I should imagine there will be plenty of fresh cannon fodder to send out there.

I have to say I don’t think there will be another 9/11 incident as there will be too many questions; too many people watching and waiting; most likely I think they will use there greatest weapon.
The dirty lying scumbag media that report the so called news to us; we know that the news is filtered and we only hear what they want; English and American news groups are both guilty of this.
And from what I have seen/read on the web and various other places they are already sowing the seed's of lies.

I think I can hear the sound of beating war drums.
Good thread by the way, a good read (if a little scary).

Good Luck.

I don't believe all the "independent" news stories either. Many of them are as biased as the main stream media outlets. I believe what makes sense when you look at the big picture.

Well I'm saying that if you're REALLY skeptical of all news outlets, you wouldn't have any idea about a "big picture" of current events because you wouldn't have any proof that the things you're hearing about on the news actually happened.

Well it's Friday now, only 5 more hours of Friday left in NY.

Wouldn't the attack be more of a Clinton type war? Where we just shoot off a bunch of missle from a boat?

Everyone forgot he made war too. He did it with more style though, made sure it was over before the weekend.

Anyone watching the Iraq war report? Interesting the Generals that are reporting are basically saying, that it is all Iran's fault that there is no peace in Iraq.

The scary part (and what reminded me of this thread) is that they are so focused on saying "Iran" as much as possible there have been several times that he had to correct himself and say Iraq.

Well, chances are, they were probably training them to plant IEDs, not corn.

Since when did prisonplanet become a reliable source for information? Sounds like they're just spewing the usual baseless propaganda. So now we have Cheney to blame for Iran's actions? I'm amazed at how 'news' (leftist-propaganda) sources like prisonplanet manage to come up with these stories all on their own...

Just out of curiosity- when the media report things that aren't flattering to the administration, or are contrary to their policies, etc... do those journalists get waterboarded?
