If it was obviously the jet fuel that made towers collapse why were firefighters going in?

If there radios are similar to the ones that I am familiar with, the emergency signal button is from the handset out..not the otherway. Usually dispatch has a emercgency signal to clear all radio traffic from a channel. Plus radios have notoriously bad reception in high rises, even if the high rises have repeaters. That coupled with the shear amount of radio traffic, and the already exsisting problems with the system is a recipe for disaster
