Gaspard de la nuit: Le Gibet By Maurice Ravel.

Its a slow, solo piano classical piece written to go with a poem.
The poem is about someone being hanged for his crimes.
There is noone to be with him (or even watch) while he dies.
He just hangs there watching his last sunrise(or maybe it was sunset) is silence save for the a that rings over and over again.

Im not too big on classicals (except for Carmina Burana) But it moved me alot.:shk:

I guess that depends what you want to be sad about.
It also depends a bit on experience I suppose.

If you wanted to hate yourself and your life I would suggest Green Day- Macy's Day Parade

If it's about a girl- well take your pick. You don't really need music to help with that. The Streets- Dry Your Eyes certainly does the trick though. You might also try Catch 22- Christina

If you want to see Vagabond wallow in self pity while longing for better days gone by, well I'm not 100% sure of the title but I'll guess Staind- It's been a while. Reminds me of my drill instructors. I miss boot sometimes.

And my personal least favorite (and i'm guessing at the title again) Green Day- Loss for words. That's my "I lost at shooting craps and my pride is deeply injured" song.

Well I think Trent Reznor beat me to it. (a number of NIN fans here it seems). I was going to mention "The Great Below" and "Adrift and at Peace" by NIN. Both very lovely and sad songs.

Funny that I also just made a sig using some lyrics from the upcoming NIN album. I Can't wait till it's out!
