ok, since i cant post a new thread on the jonh lear forum for some reason, i decided to post one here.

we all know what Lear writes in his posts and how those things sound, and i dont plan to contradict any one of those post here, because there is no point. everything he said can not be proven otherwise because its a mix of wild claims with little proof and stories which can never be disputed...

so, my opinion is this:

ATS, despite it being a very good forum for all kinds of discussion, is a somewhat profitable organization, in on way or the other, and their profit is based on the number of people that come here...

now, since this John Lear is pretty much the only "famous" person here, could it be possible that he is being paid by the people who run ATS to tell all these stories in order to attract members to discuss all his really fascinating theories on these forums?

i mean, think about it....

everything these days revolves around profit, and i have no reason to believe that ATS is in fact any different. the ufo people are a handful of money, if treated properly...

so, i urge you to think about what i have written here, if my post doesnt get deleted,

is it not possible that this John Lear character isnt just a tool being used by this site to attract more people?

i wonder....

If you did a little bit of research on the topic, you'd discover that John Lear is a "Conspiracy Master," a category of users who indeed derive some income from their activity here on ATS. In fact, the board home page shows six people with dedicated "Conspiracy Master" forums, all of whom receive the income from the Google ads within the forums they maintain.

So, while "ATS" doesn't pay him directly, John does receive some direct monetary compensation for his efforts here... as can anyone who proves a consistent ability to provide compelling content and applies to be a "Conspiracy Master."

And... our bloggers can earn some coin too (especially when the revamped blogging service comes back online). We're the only provider of free blogging space that 1) doesn't place ads on member blogs, and 2) allows members to run their own ads on their blogs.

And most recently, Jim Marrs has joined the ATS fold. (Sorry John, but Jim might be a bit more famous
) Thanks to a book deal where Mr. Marrs is writing the first-ever book about some interesting member threads, he's now participating in discussion both now, and after the book is released.

So yes... there are opportunities for talented people to receive income from their participation on ATS. Would you expect any less of us?

Well that's what comes with the territory sweetheart.

When John Lear signed onto this website, I'm sure he was aware that people would question his credibility.

It's like famous people with the paparazzi.

This thread is not even one of the bad ones I've seen, perhaps you should be complaining about the Is John Lear spreading disinfo?" thread instead.

While your doing that, you might as well start complaining about the other threads attacking our government and our President.

[sarcasm]Who cares about freedom of speech right? We might as well censor everything and not allow people to question what is the truth and what is a lie.[/sarcasm]

Why is it automatically assumed that if someone is making a little money, they therefor must be suspect in what they say?

Famous or not.

I have no idea if everything that Mr. Lear says is 100% fact, or Mr. Marrs for that matter. What I do know is it takes a lot of guts to come on such a huge and public forum and put "it" all out there so to speak.

I appreciate courage like that.

Besides, if you read what is written by Mr. Lear and Mr. Marrs, you will, if nothing else, learn some things, as well as being entertained.

My attitudes on conspiracies and unexplained phenomenon have completely changed in the time I have been here at ATS. For the better I might add. I no longer have a mind as closed as before and find myself open to many new ideas and concepts.

Remember my friends, the mind is like a box, if it is closed, you can't put anything in it.

Really? Didn't see that. Why not repost it if you think so? It might have been posted in a different thread. It happens, I've done it too.

I can grasp your point of reason, still though from an ATS standpoint it's only natural to utilize an interesting presence like Lear to increase the prestige of the site.

Theoretically if Martha Stewart were a regular on your forum about cooking and gardening, and she chose not to be incognito... then wouldn't you consider the possibilities?

Besides it's publicity for Lear as well; I'm sure if he minded his name being tossed around that he'd have mentioned it.

yes, censorship is a problem, when money is involved. I had an interesting thread with documents about the Ufo scene in the 70/80ies about lear, lazar and cooper and it was completely erased over night, even it was flagged by members...

ok, so maybe i misunderstood, but didnt you just basically confirm everything i said?

i dont know, as long as someone gets paid to bring "compelling content" to ATS, i would consider it his job, sort of...

so how can i take seriously anything he says, since i know he gets paid for saying it, and he has to write and post SOMETHING, anything, in order to get paid. i hope my logic makes sense.

and i hope you all realize that im not attacking or disrespecting anyone, i just think this is a valid discussion topic.

Do note that he is mostly referring to Google Ads, not cold hard cash in a silver suitcase that gets delivered to him.

Anyway, in a way I agree with you.
That is, the part in which you talk about how his stuff can't exactly be proven.

Unless anyone here happens to have a personal space vehicle and can send me to the moon.
