Strange light vanishes!

I filmed this today at aprox 6:20AM. I was panning around the sky doing my usual morning watch as the sun came up over the mountains. Suddenly something caught my attention and I zoomed in on this strange light. I messed up by zooming all the way in with my crappy camera and I was moving right as this thing disappeared! Poof! just gone...
The visibility is horrible today and now that the sun is up I can't see the landscape at all...The first ridge line is where the light seems to be sitting...

My first thought was this could be a reflection off some windows from a house in the distance...upon closer inspection I noticed that the light seems to be just a tad below the ridge. Not saying it's not possible that it could have still been on the side of the hill there but it was still pretty early and the sun wasn't really beaming down in that direction.
It's very hard to tell but It seemed very much like this was above the ground to me...Later today if the pollution passes or tomorrow morning I'm going to setup again around the same time to see if it's there again and snap some pictures to see what it looks like over there... Maybe eventually I'll take a drive for a closer inspection of the surroundings. Sorry for the low quality conversion...

The full mpeg is 233mb. If this is interesting enough to take a look at I'm willing to provide the raw disc for analysis.

Another great video by Jagman!!! Is it ok if I run it through AVID and see what we get in the other channels? If so how can I download it? I usually use Megaupload.com

Another Jagman video!!! Where do you live again? it seems you are filming from the same spot you filmed your other video. You better watch yourself, you might get abducted!

I live in Los Angeles, Just west of the 405 freeway. My window faces to the East...looking straight ahead I can see Century city and farther SE I can just make out downtown L.A.

Interesting shot Jagman, it was good that you had the object in frame when it disappeared.

To me the object/light gives the impression, when disappearing, that it is turned off but, am not sure, but may have appeared to wipe from left to right as you look at the screen.

Maybe Jagman, you could do a higher res clip of just the disappearance, maybe 5 seconds worth without any compression or reduction in frame rate.

I don't have decent facilities on this machine to look in detail but if you upload the short clip I'll boot my other machine, I have a multitude of video software on that one.

as it is (as you acknowledge) below that hill line and stationary, the simplest and most probable explanation is that it's a powerful light on that hillside.

I really cant watch the video because i'm on dialup, but by any chance was the light "blue"???

A few years ago my daughter in law was driving us back from Boston to the Cape and we saw this huge blue circle of light just up ahead in the sky- and all we could both do is open our mouths and look at each other and in just an instant it appear to be shut off. Just like you would a lightbulb.

Was that what you saw?

The light seemed to be glowing white, almost like a cloud. It is stationary and seems to be "hovering" in the same place until it disappears. It disappears after only a couple of minutes of filming. It seems to be farther away in distance then Jagmans previous video. It is really nothing spectacular but it is mysterious.

Thank you for the explanation. I guess its not the same thing i saw. BTW, Broadband is extremely expensive in Cape Cod and , although i miss it, it beats not having anything at all.

Op, by any chance did you see the object arrive to that spot? or catch it mid way like the camera shopws? because i am curious if it just 'turned on' when it arrived to the spot or if it moved (to get to that spot) with the light on.

the only reason i can think at the moment for it turning its light off, is that the sun was just coming up and the lights itself was no longer needed.

Stinks but... I did not see it arrive... But I dont think it was there very long before I caught it.

it appears as though its going into warp, or rather a tear in space..
or behind a cloud? could just be a plane

Have you ever seen anything like that in that area before ?, do you know what's on that 'hill/ridge' ?, a road or path ?, could it of been a car that drove behind a tree or object/building ?.

I'm getting the impression that it disappears as if it were an obscured reflection, not saying thats what it is, just the way it disappears.

I'm gonna look a little more.

It goes quick theres no doubt about that... I really don't think it was a plane... LAX is close but they come in farther to the south IMO...I see them all the time and they don't look anything like this.

Very possible. I'm going to take a look in that direction later when It clears up a bit and tomorrow morning of course.

As we are looking at the object where would the sun first appear?

And what is your location, city, town, nothing that will give your exact location obviously.
