Roger that, I've started to assess my ELINT and I'll be in my undisclosed location on Monday with all assets in play to make my opening argument. "Let's get it on."

Do they seem a bit more even this time around?

Luck of the draw.

One can go as deep or as shallow as one wants....

It's all relative....

The topics look really exciting ...

Personally, I am particularly anxious to see how well the "peace-making mission of the worlds" debate turns out (I love the smell of euphamisms and movie titles in the morning, though maybe "police action" of the worlds would have had a better context). What I like is the fact that it assumes the hard to believe part from the very beginning and poses a question with no definative answer to both sides.

Topics became unlocked at 10:30 tonight. Clocks will officially start ticking at 9 AM pacific time tomorrow. An equal allowance of time will be available for those going second if they need it.

I'm opening them up earliy because I wont be awake before you East Coast fellas wake to have your coffee and draw first blood.

I realize this is off topic, but I thought perhaps some of my fellow debaters might be interested in the Fantasy Football League I set up. I've got a BTS thread going for sign ups if you want to join up. I've got 9 spots available.

-------------------

And now for some discussion that relates to what's going on here….

The second round is proving to be very exciting! I love the topics and the way everyone has handled themselves so far. This is definitely going to lead to one MONSTER of a final no matter who makes it.

I've sent The Vagabond a request for an extension. I had some unexpected computer issues last night and they seriously cut into the time I was going to use to compose my reply.

Hopefully everything works out.

No problem. Thanks for letting me know.

Thank you.

I would have let you know sooner but I just barely woke up (I'm a night owl).

I expected to wake up a few hours ago which would have given me plenty of time to finish my reply. Instead I woke up 45 minutes ago

Normally I'd have no shortage of time but I spent most of last night re-installing Linux.

Thanks again

If there is any spots left in the next one I think I'd like to give this a go. It's been 20 years since high school debating and I'm really really rusty but what the heck. It would be a good learning experience if nothing else.

So far, everyone has been really good about U2Uing, and I really hate to take rounds away when guys are doing their best, but Simulacra has now forfeited his response.

Vagabond,

You've been more patient than I would've been.

Fair warning: Never make me a mod. I'd be handing out warns like handshakes...

I really hope he comes on and finishes the debate...

It's not much fun debating oneself...

But I will put as much information as I have found in my research out there for all to read. It really is a great subject and one that most likely will become more important in the very near future...

Reply 3 done....

Na, nobody's ever gonna get in trouble for small stuff in a debate. Just don't sing your opponent the four-letter seranade or say anything that might contradict my own narrow views in any way and you'll be fine.

(kidding on that last part)

I just wanted to let you guys know that results may be a little slow this time. Results should be in by sunday at the latest.

First result is in. I'm not holding them back this time because of the delay. I'll get the results to each pair as soon as the judgements are in.

Woo hoo! Thank you, guys.

You did a great job, Truthwithin.
I had no gut feeling about how the judges would rule on that one.
