Egypt has released Zawahiri's older brother, Muhammad Zawahiri.

His older brother was in prison there because Zawahiri implicated him in the assassination of Anwar Sadat, to save his own skin.

That should be an interesting family reunion.

zawahiri turned in his brother to the authorities to save his own butt.
His brother has been in prison in Egypt because of him for many years.

Key courier between bin laden & zawahiri arrested in Pakistan by Pakistan.

You got a lucky break zawahiri, Pakistan will continue to hide you.
Since the U.S. isn't allowed access to the courier, I suspect he will "escape" from jail and "disappear" any day now.

Ayman al-Zawahiri has officially been named ‘emir’ of Al Qaeda.

Seems like it boils down to a Dutch news org, de telegraaf, claiming they read it in a Dutch Intelligence document.

I'll reserve judgement until the official announcement from them.
Zawahiri is a complete failure at everything he has ever tried in his entire life, it would be foolish to elect him.

I see that they released zawahiri's latest video.
Its the sixth in his series about the Egyptian revolution. Yawn.

Personally, I think this guy is the REAL mastermind behind 911, and other major attacks. Osama was initially a money man and inspirational leader, in my opinion, vs. the main architect of the organization. He's the other big fish to fry in all of this (assuming we are actually being truthful about Al Queda's role in all of it)...

The list also includes commander Sirajuddin Haqqani , the operating chief of Haqqani network and Atiya Abdel Rahman ,

The US views the list as a test of whether Pakistan is "serious about fighting terrorists who have long enjoyed safe havens within its borders", the report said.

"The message given to Pakistani leaders was loud and clear: you either cooperate with us on these...terrorists or we'll take care of them by ourselves,"

Adam Gadahn is back' from the dead.

In a chilling video released Friday, American-born Al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn instructs U.S. Muslims to arm themselves at local gun stores and "target major institutions and public figures," reports ABC News. The most disturbing part of the video, titled "Do Not Rely on Others, Take the Task Upon Yourself," is Gadahn's matter-of-fact tone. "What are you waiting for?" he asks with impeccable English. "America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms.

Personally I believe they might have actually killed him. They seem to be all in a dither about this unlike Bin Laden. They need to locate the others on their terrorists lists then prove they actually got them. In order to show that they are serious. Probably won't change anything.
