Europe: Politically correct and that is why they will lose."Secret EU guidelines have been drawn up warning governments not to link Islam and terrorism." How stupid can you be.I never thought I'd see the day when you can't tell the truth because it's offensive to the criminals. We should surrender now and cut off our own heads.Islam is not politically correct and never will be."Neither the Prime Minister in a major interview nor Home Secretary Jacqui Smith in the Commons referred to Muslims or Islam." Have they no spine.Banned terms were said to include “jihad’’, “Islamic’’ or “fundamentalist”.Gutless cowards who would rather see their people killed than stand up to the Islamofacists. The new policy is run and hide then surrender, brilliant.Unbelievable

Yep! its insane! We all must be politically correct. We can't fight this war agaist a certain group of people (that are in a certain group of people) because we might make them upset.

this is what we should do in spades !! www.youtube.com...

With those types of policies their terrorist problems will only get worse...just sit and watch it unfold. The U.K. will have a string of terrorist attacks waiting to happen now that they must ignore the source of the problem altogether.

If the population trends continue, I can't help but think the Muslims will be the new lords of Europe (this is already proven fact in Russia), why not make good with your overlords now?

The EU and Gordon Brown have it all wrong. They either can't see the truth or are too stupid to figure it out. Here is an article from a former British Jihadi Network member." I remember how we used to laugh in celebration whenever people on TV proclaimed that the sole cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombings and 7/7 was Western foreign policy." blaming the Government for our actions, those who pushed this "Blair's bombs" line did our propaganda work for us". "people are again saying that violence carried out by Muslims is all to do with foreign policy." The real drive of our violence: Islamic theology.
we are fighting for the creation of a revolutionary worldwide Islamic state that would dispense Islamic justice. Since there is no pure Islamic state, the whole world must be Dar ul-Kufr (The Land of Unbelief). Since Islam must declare war on unbelief, they have declared war upon the whole world.

Haha so we're not allowed to connect Islam to terrorism when Islam is the main source of terrorism against us? And we're not allowed to mention Jihads, even though we have had one launched against us!?

When is Britain going to stop being so PC and just put it's metaphorical foot down on stupid things like this!? We can't just keep being pushed around because we're scared of offending people!

So what if connecting terrorism with Islam is offensive, it's the truth! I'd rather offend a few people for like 5 minutes than lose my life forever in a terrorist attack because my country is so PC!

Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! What next????? Not being able to say a black man is black????? Not being able to call a Jew a Jew, or a Christian a Christian??????? This is Political Correctness to the extreme, and it's a load of BS if you ask me.

If you want my opinion, the best response to this is one by General Patton (I think it was General Patton that said it) - "Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out!!!!!!!!!"

Naah these guys are right! If we ignore them then they are bound
to go away right? Just like if you ignored aids it will go away and
not spread.
If a Christian were to start strapping bombs and blowing up mosques
I'm pretty sure that would be a hate crime.
So Yet again let us sit back drinking coronas and wait for
the next attack to happen and link it to Al Qaeda and NOT
Islam the religion of peace.

Some of you skipped over this part obviously and it seems its the very same people who this measure was intended for.

From The Article Itself
EU officials said the “common lexicon’’ aimed to stop the distortion of the Muslim faith and alienation of its followers in Europe. European governments had previously agreed on the need to develop a “non-emotive lexicon’’ for use in discussion to avoid “exacerbating division’’.

Like the above post linking all practitioners of "the religion of peace" to terrorists. If some of you consider it anti-semetic to critisize Government actions then it should be equally anti-Islamic to demonize an entire religion and the 1.5 billion of its practitioners because of the 1% of its bad apples. Obviously they are aware that people want to collectively punish even those who are not guilty of fanaticism/terrorism.

You said it all, calmly and logically.

I do love the way people that dont live in the UK take any chance to poke sticks at us.
They can see a flea on someone elses back ignoring the elephant on their own.

So put THAT in your pipe and smoke it Geezer!!!!!!!!!!

Well they lost us because they wanted to sell us overtaxed tea.

The rest of the story is self evident.

It's not difficult to see why they wish to minimize the connection to Islam. By focusing on a terrorist's criminality, rather than his religion, you minimize the problem of inciting needless prejudices against that faith and minimize the risk you'll push fence sitters onto the wrong side.

Based on the comments made in this thread, it's no wonder we are in the mess we are in.

I disagree.

A "fence sitter" in this case is still a very dangerous person. Anyone who's undecided about being a suicide bomber against civilians is someone I would not want in my country! Who knows what could push them over to the "wrong side?"

I think Islam getting a certain stigma could be a positive thing since it might push those who normally wouldn't speak out to do so against the extremism and terrorism and to clean out their communities and mosques of this terrorist scum and their propaganda.

A Muslim is somebody who follows the teachings of the Qur'an. A Christian follows the teachings of Christ, and Orthodox Jews follow the Torah.

I am British and read the Bible, Torah/prayerbook, and the Qur'an. I acknowledge them as the Abrahamic Faiths that they are. So will it be politically incorrect to call a Christian a Christian, and a Jew a Jew?

The law of Islam forbids suicide and true followers of Islam are peaceful people, as are Christian and Jews. The Qur'an is translated as 'The Book of Peace'.

I don't mind if I am labeled a Jew, Christian or Muslim, as I read and study all three scriptures, as I feel that they are handed down by G-d to mankind. The point being it is not discriminatory.

You seem to have a narrow definition of 'fence sitter'. Not all fence sitters strap bombs to their chests. It's dramatic, but it's not the rule.

The danger I speak of is in the homes of 1.6 billion Muslims.

People tend to resent being blamed for the criminality of others. It breads distrust... It makes them ripe for manipulation...

Our biggest problem in this 'War against Terror" is that we really think our enemy is stupid, when in truth they're pretty damned smart.

Our enemy capitalizes on the very approach you're advocating. It's the best recruitment tool they have...and, as is not unforeseeable in all wars, you get stuff like this that helps them.

The problem is that people really do think a terrorist is lurking around every Muslim corner. This is not only ridiculous, paranoid thinking, but very dangerous thinking.

It creates problems where none exist and grows the very real ones we have.

No offense, but a policy based on unnecessary prejudice is just plain dumb.

See my comments above.

But you see, you dont end up with a better country. You have a giant , largely unoccupiable sandpit, occupied in tiny little areas only, as the rest is too desolate to live in. A little Occidental world in the midde of the Orient, where for holidays, people travel 2000 miles from one side to the other and find the same people drinking the same unpalatable slop called lager watching the same TV and speaking the same language, eating the same food (generally overcooked pies).
I live in a country where, 100 miles from me, is a different country, with a different language, with different food, with a different culture. 100 miles from there another different country, food culture then another 100 miles and another country, food, language etc etc etc.

If your country is so nice why does your youth get out of it almost as soon as they are old enough to get a passport?

Your beer is also rubbish. Its so bad you have to nearly freeze it to make it palatable, by the way, its not beer either its lager, a totally anaerobic chemical concoction. The only part palatable lager you had was Emu Export. When I was there, you bought Fosters for the women.

Oh by the way. I have joint nationality, UK and Australian and I choose to live in the UK, Im not forced to live in a country like you are.
You enjoy your sandpit lad I dont envy you at all

By the way cant you see that elephant on your back
