REALLY STRANGE...

For the past 20+ years, the 4th of July fireworks on Lake Michigan
(St. Joseph, Michigan) have begun right at 10:30pm(ET) because
that's when it's dark enough to get the show started. But last night,
at 10:30pm, it was still dusk! The show had to be delayed until
10:55pm for that reason. Probably not E.T. related, but there is
definitely "Something Going Down" and I have no reference point
to even begin to understand why the Midwest days are longer this
Summer. And, we've only had 3 days of measurable rainfall since
late May. Weather flucuations happen, but Sunset fluctuations?

Fireworks displays depend upon cloud cover or lack thereof as much as "darkness" does. I've done several professional shows and it's always a compromise. The powers that be advertise an early time to be family-friendly where we know we should wait until at least 10:30pm before starting off. The fewer the clouds the later you should start. We would fire off a salute or two to tease the crowd (or warn off the boats that were getting too close; we fire over water). So bottom line is that northern states have a harder time than Florida just because of the summer solstice. 10:55 is a tad late, I agree, but it's not outrageously so. It just depends on who is in charge.

Well..it was crystal clear on Wednesday evening. It has been in years
past too, however. First time it was delayed due to sky brightness.
There was no moon either. Very weird. Thanks for the reply my
friend. -cwm

Well its afternoon on 7/7/7 here in plymouth UK, nice sunny day, chance of rain, planning a BBQ later - nothing to report, hardly worth the post.

I'll make this worth my while, kids TV does my head in, can't say nowt cos the lil un is engrosed with a panda bear having a teddys bears picnic. Is this the end of the world? If it wasn't for my friend Carlsberg export I think i'd be sitting infront of the telly singing tinkabella friends for you and me.

Rant over

Here we are peeps , nearly time for the show. I predict that the rest of this week will be incredible.
With all that is going on in the world, it is not going to take much baiting for an ignition to spark the World into War.
I believe the wheels are set in motion for this week.
Good luck to you all..
