Well the way I see it, is that the point on the wire/cable where it is attached to the insulator is most likely twisted, and probably more stiff than the mid sections of the wire/cable.

Also note the angle from the pole wire the wire/cable is coming from or going to.

Looks okay to me.

More Drones

These pictures are probably not even worth the trouble of looking at, being super low-resolution and highly pixelated.

Some characters have a broken part, which is still visible on the other picture. I dont know why or how. Can somebody explain what can cause this?

edit=nevermind I see what you are saying now. The discrepancies are from the same series of images from the same source. I thought you were making a comparison between two different "drones".

Hmmm, I have to look closely at the images again, to see if I can see what you see.

What do you mean by "broken part"??

Compare the characters and you see some legs are not visible on the first picture.

Edit: Like the '7' character with a dot in.

Well, the first pic is not as sharp as the second one.

Also, slight differences in lighting/shading could factor into it.

I thought same, but the light grey smaller letterbox is still visible.

Interesting. I'm going to try a few things in PS, to see if I can improve those two images a bit.

edit = rats, the original pics from flickr are no longer there (nor on craiglist) . I'll see if I still have a copy in my cache.

How'd you do that. I used think link in the first post of the thread. Oh well, thanks. They were no longer in my cache.

Well, trying to sharpen the first image didn't work out so well. (it's the bottom inset in the image on this post)

But I did rotate the image to better compare with the second.

I would say that the appearance of some characters being different are just an artifact from the motion blur present in your first image. (it's the bottom inset in the image on this post)

Otherwise I would agree they do appear to be different.

I don't think this has been posted yet. I really like good UFO CGI like this. Wish it was a little longer...

Hi Mechnic32,

In what way, exactly, are they possibly "'different"?

If you look at the first "letter" starting on the outer end of the arm it appears to be different ie missing the the left hand side of the V shape. But I think it is just lack of detail in the second shot causing the illusion..

Just adding. Not Saying They are Real

Since you seem to be an expert on alien writing, perhaps you could let the rest of us know what it would/should look like ?

You guys do realize that alot of the letters are from the transformers font correct? Not all, but a considerable amount, verbatim. I'll post some comparison pics if needed.

over the past week i have seen at least 10 different people visually comparing many different alphabets, from klingon to starwars to matrix to transformers to sanskrit to hieroglyphs.

no one has made a convincing case for anything other than a lot of human alphabets look similar!

As spf33 pointed out, there has been some work done in this area without any major breakthroughs. So if you've got something to share, show us your stuff.

I never said I know anything about alien writing. I just said that the crafts writing ain't alien writing.

I think what Mogget is asking you is on what do you base such a decision? You've made a declarative statement, but provided no additional information on why you think this is so. Statements such as "it just isn't" or similar aren't providing a contribution here. I'm sure people here are willing to entertain the notion that this is not alien writing, but your opinion alone is not enough to be convincing. Savvy?
