This is just plain pathetic. Why on earth can't the people of one religion leave people of another religion to worship as they please???

And I don't think the Taliban is "about" religion anyway--it's all about hate and intolerance and a vicious antipathy to anything they can't control--like freedom!

Well it's in their holy books. Each religion has at least 2 elements guaranteeing it's survival and expansion:

1. circular-thinking (brainwashing) - when someone questions, proofs are in holy books, there are no other proofs needed because each holy book is inspired by God himself and questioning it is strictly forbidden -- all people from outside who want to reason with you are a danger and inspired by Satan, this post here is like that, inspired by Satan himself trying to destroy religion ... well this is how they see it. Your post qualifies too.

2. expansion is commanded in holy books and violence is justified - i think i don't need to explain this one... Check Victims of Religion for numbers.

I have always wandered why religious people go for treatment in hospitals, they always try to keep science down but yet when something happens to them or their loved ones the first thing they do is run to to science which they try to suppress in the first place. If you believe in your respective "god" wouldn't you want to meet him as soon as possible?

That is call blind faith, it has nothing to do with the myth of satan, unless you can to use the term satan to explain blind faith.
