Well no matter what people may think of him.

He's still a man, with a family, who is now grieving, I think I will say a small prayer for his family.

I hope they are doing fine.

(self-edited in the interests of good taste)

Sorry folks. Just goes to show that even a moderator can let his fingers get the better of him sometimes. I personally have always hated Falwell, but it's no excuse to dance on his grave much. Please accept my apology for having set a poor example.

Sorry, I admit, I have a sick, angry, vengeful mind when it comes to people I hate.

Sorry if I offended anyone. =X

Also...really the little red warn in my mini-profile actually accents the rest of it quite well.

I just saw this in Breaking News on CNN...

In fact I was going to post this, but you beat me to it.

What did I do when I read the breaking news?

I CHEERED! WHOOO! Now all we need is for this to happen to Pat Robertson and Fred Phelps!

I remember when I was 5 years old one of my classmates in kindergarten drew a picture in crayon of MLK bleeding from the head with the words, "Martin Luther King is Dead! Yeah!" written across the top. Are we really to the point where adults (giving Kacen the benefit of the doubt) are no more mature than a 5-year old?

Kacen,

I have a question for you. Has this man ever did anything to you?

Do you know his heart or have walked in his shoes?

Do you really know anything about him?

May he rest in peace and the Lord have mercy on his soul.

So the world will be a better place without this guy. The problem is that someone else will take his place, but hopefully it will be someone more moderate.

I hope his family do well, even if they liked a moran.

P.S. I hope you enjoy hell Falwell.

I don't know what this guy ever did to you to make you hate him so much. Personally I think he had many faults, but then we all do. His were just more public than ours. To say that sometimes he was misguided is true, but I don't believe you could label him amoung the evil and bad. R.I.P Falwell.

Yes, I know lots about him.

He wants to de-secularize our country.

Hes pro-segregation.

Hes anti-homosexuals and feminists, and also is closed minded and bigoted against other religions.

I don't hate Christians, I just hate the extremist bigoted ones like him. Sure I don't know him personally, but what I do know about him overrides, atleast to me, anything else good about him.

EDIT: I'm sorry for being offensive, I'll just take a break from this thread, as I have nothing else to say. If anyone else wants to respond to what I said, please do it in a PM.

There is no shortage of people that the world would be better off without. I think Saddam thought this about the Kurds and Shiites, and Hitler thought this about the Jews. Not to sound like Obi Wan or Yoda or anything, but when you let the dark side get the better of you it just continues the cycles of hatred.

They just said on Cnn he was found without a pulse.

He never regained a pulse. So looks like he passed away in his office.

The Rev. Jerry Falwell has died, a Liberty University executive said Tuesday. He was 73. Earlier today, Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of Falwell's Liberty University, had said Falwell was found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but said Falwell had "a history of heart challenges.

Well, from a preliminary look at what this guy thought, I can't say the world as a whole will miss him.

Surprisingly, the Westboro baptist church has not yet leapt on an opportunity for picketing. As anyone who isn't one of their people is a target, I'm amazed.

Good riddance to one of the most horrible, narrow-minded, bigoted, and foul-spirited little men in history. I hope he enjoys his spot in Hell next to Hitler and people who double-park.

And people who double park? They are a bit annoying but thats a bit harsh. BTW you missed out Stalin.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let's be clear about what just happened. A man who was closely associated with the way things used to be has died. Love him or hate him, he is gone. Our challenge now is to re-member what he stood for and act accordingly.

Within three decades, there will be no one left alive who will be able to remember him clearly. He will be a chapter in somebody's history book. We'll be tempted to forget the good and the bad that he stood for. Your children will grow up never knowing what you know about him. No matter how hard they try, they won't be able to relate to him in the same way that you can.

Moments like this mark the passing of of an era. Something old has gone. The way is clear for something new to take its place. Will it be another Falwell, or, will it be something...or some one..."better?" We can only wonder, and wait.

I hope you also plan on extending your display of displeasure to your fellow moderator 'thelibra' who also expressed a similar opinion but in slightly more high-brow means.

That aside I can only say what goes around comes around and its obvious that the deeds of a lifetime have come full circle and now he pays the ultimate price, its just a shame we wont know if he found himself before the gates of heaven or in line for the worlds greatest black metal show ever in Hell...

Never really liked the guy. However, I am sorry to here that he has passed. Sometimes, I think his intentions were well placed, but, the way he came across could be insulting.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family....

Now I certainly didn't agree with everything he said, but I also realize there are over 6 billion people on this earth. If one other person has all the same beliefs as mine, I'd be extremely surprised and shocked. So do I wish all 6 billion + people were dead?? NO.
So I'm certainly not going to sit here and "celebrate" as I see some people doing. I think I saw this earlier, but by doing so, how are you any better than him?

Justin--your right someone will take his place--someone probably already has. Will this guy, it will surely be a guy, preach hate like good old Jerry or will this one preach love. By the time my wife and I have finished dinner, I will have pretty much lost my zeal for Jerry and continue looking forward to the passing of Pat Robertson and a few of the other hate mongering, money-mongering-whores.
