Mmmm. I'm hungry now.

OK Aryanwatch, I'm going to start by telling you that I am an atheist. no I will not recant on my deathbed, no my mind will not be changed, for I in fact have one that works properly. If you think that sounds a little arrogant go ahead, I do not mind, Christians and others of their ilk have been getting away with that and literally with murder for centuries. Reading through the posts by all the deists on this thread all I sense is the undercurrent of intolerance and cruelty I am used to reading on such discussions in all forum sites I frequent .A 'threat' ..oh please. My opinion is that religion is a profound sickness and humanity would do well to be rid of it. You are the real threat. You people have been murdering atheists any any other non christians for centuries. You would be better off without this terrible monkey on your back that trammels your mind Aryanwatch. You may not like me any more, that's fine, I forgive you.

Dear Tony J,

How are you doing? I'am writing this open letter to you to express my real appreciation for your style of penning down your thoughts. Its really impressive. But believe me,you have no idea of either what religion really'means' or about anything else. I'am sure you are one amongst the millions of new generation degenarates who think that they are really 'cool' because they have the guts to denounce religion. Get out of your sleep buddy. Try and understand things first before saying a 'yes' or a 'no'. Please let me ask you a few questions -

1.What was your religion before you became an outcast?
2.How much did you really know about your birth religion?
3. Did you try to understand ANYTHING about you religion?
4.What made you into an atheist?
5.Was it a conscious decision or was it because you other 'cool' friends were doing this?
6. Are you happier then you were?

These questions are for you to answer. You need not answer me here on this forum. I really want you to think about the above mentioned points and introspect on your life and times. I think you are misled.

Warm regards,

AryanWatch

I'm a recent convert, and all I can say is that I've been trully blessed by the FSM. I just can't live without noodles in my life. It's a fact. How could anyone possibly live without noodles in their life? It just doesn't make any sense....The FSM is a reflection of humankind. I mean look at the texture of your skin...it's just like pasta. And your blood is like the marinara sauce that permeates through the essence of the FSM. How could anyone not believe?

Yeah they also took the 'fun' out of it lol

Seriously, this is just showing organised religions how ridiculous they are, and how easy it is to believe in a made up deity.

No other religion can discredit FSM because it has just as much credit as anything else! Just because it doesn't have a book written about it doesn't mean it's any less of a joke than Christianity or Islam, for instance. The bible and the koran aren't exactly fact books are they?

Religious people need to see the real message and point in FSM.

Maybe it can do some good and abolish organised religion and we won't have to deal with these bloody Jihads and corruptions any more.

I agree completely...even I can't. Btw, I can't live without milk either. Nor Bananas.

Man oh man, if Douglas was around he'd probably make a movie about Pastafarianism.

Well, here's the next best thing. I've used this method of dealing with fundies before.
Not only will you confound them with logic if you deliver the main points fast enough to edge out of the conversation, they'll likely leave you alone afterwards to boot if you happen to encounter them in the future.

At times I wish I lived in Britian, then I remembered the Surveilence Nanny state they got over there and that wish evaporates like a sausage pasta sauce fart on the wind.

Oh, but there IS! There IS! It's The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

As a matter of fact, I'm gonna order me one right now. How can I espouse His Pastaness if I haven't read His Holy (Cook)Book?

Seriously, if you have to eat your god, what do you prefer:

Some flat bread and grape juice or a hearty pasta dinner?

You be the judge ...

This whole thing sounds pretty harmless in my opinion. But if anyone is truly afraid you just contact me!
I'm from a big Italian family - that Flying Spaghetti Monster wouldn't stand a chance in my household! I have my fork, and a bottle of nice Chianti ready to go at a moments notice.

Have you ever heard about Mickey Mouse or Charlie Chaplin or Bugs Bunny,or Fighter Toads or Tom and Jerry...or any stand up comedians...Please spend some time in front of these characters who would make you laugh as much as you want. But please leave some really innocent God-fearing people alone.

AryanWatch... Comedians often make fun of God, and whither he exists or not. Movies have been made to make fun of the existence of god... Comedians make comments about what and if god exists... It's all in fun. I'm sure god is laughing too.

The comments about fundamentalists aren't geared to your regular "god fearing" people. They are geared to those willing to KILL for their beliefs. Would you kill Me if I believed that the FSM was real. Are you that solid in your convictions of your own faith? That is what I call a fundamentalist. Anyone else is just... a normal person.

I do have a question, though. Why do you fear god? I was always taught he/she/it was a kind and forgiving Ruler, and that all you have to do is ask his forgiveness and try to repent, and he will always will forgive, welcoming you back into his arms. Is this not what traditional Christianity teaches?

Have you never made jeering jokes about yourself? I have... I'm sure god has. I truly believe that god has a sense of humor. He has too... he look at all his creations. Many teachings say he created us in his own image.... and most people have a sense of humor, so it stands to reason god is just laughing at this like everyone else.

To answer your question on why it's not geared to Islam... and that people don't poke fun at them. I don't know about you... but I don't understand their beliefs, as it goes. I had a Muslim friend try to explain it to me, but i got lost and confused. So... I can't take you up on that...

I have been in noodle Hell, from noodles staining my clothes with some unremovable sause to choking on meat balls and coughing out noodles from my nostril because the noodle dish was too spicy.

Ooh, the horror of the experience.

I think it was FSM showing me what noodle hell is like for un-believers of the mighty FSM.

For those out there who wish to enjoy a heavenly noodle meal and not experience noodle Hell, worship and pray to the FSM......

(PS: Joke, In case you haven't figured it out.) (I am also not a FSM follower.)

Thank goodness the FSM has a sense of humor, or it is likely that I will experience further noodle Hell for being a blasphemer. The Smite of the mighty FSM.

Hahahahaaa...
Funny Joke, we are what we eat, it is only fair that I should end up as a "dried noodle stuck in the Eternal Pan" for all the noodles that I have been eating. The sin for not treating noodles with more respect, let it be a warning to all who ill treat the humble noodle .....hahahaaaa

Best book ever the satire and story is amazing all hail FSM!

Some members could take note of the The FSM's commandments:

1.

I'd really rather you didn't act like a sanctimonious holier-than-thou ass when describing my noodly goodness. If some people don't believe in me, that's okay. Really, I'm not that vain. Besides, this isn't about them so don't change the subject.

2.

I'd really rather you didn't use my existence as a means to oppress, subjugate, punish, eviscerate, and/or, you know, be mean to others. I don't require sacrifices, and purity is for drinking water, not people.

3.

I'd really rather you didn't judge people for the way they look, or how they dress, or the way they talk, or, well, just play nice, Okay? Oh, and get this into your thick heads: woman = person. man = person. Samey = Samey. One is not better than the other, unless we're talking about fashion and I'm sorry, but I gave that to women and some guys who know the difference between teal and fuchsia.

4.

I'd really rather you didn't indulge in conduct that offends yourself, or your willing, consenting partner of legal age AND mental maturity. As for anyone who might object, I think the expression is go f*** yourself, unless they find that offensive in which case they can turn off the TV for once and go for a walk for a change.

5.

I'd really rather you didn't challenge the bigoted, misogynistic, hateful ideas of others on an empty stomach. Eat, then go after the b*******.

6.

I'd really rather you didn't build multi million-dollar churches/temples/mosques/shrines to my noodly goodness when the money could be better spent (take your pick):

A. Ending poverty
B. Curing diseases
C. Living in peace, loving with passion, and lowering the cost of cable

I might be a complex-carbohydrate omniscient being, but I enjoy the simple things in life. I ought to know. I AM the creator.

7.

I'd really rather you didn't go around telling people I talk to you. You're not that interesting. Get over yourself. And I told you to love your fellow man, can't you take a hint?

8.

I'd really rather you didn't do unto others as you would have them do unto you if you are into, um, stuff that uses a lot of leather/lubricant/Las Vegas. If the other person is into it, however (pursuant to #4), then have at it, take pictures, and for the love of Mike, wear a CONDOM! honestly, it's a piece of rubber. If I didn't want it to feel good when you did it I would have added spikes, or something.
_____________________________________

In my own opinion those eight FSM points make more sense than all of the pages in the Bible and forms of Christainity that has brought to the table in the endless times it's been around and i'm probably going to get flamed for saying that but hey at least i won't be using the religion or viewpoint to opress others which is an unchristain thing to do anyway as actually stated in the Bible.

Can this be true in the maddest of imaginations???

In a word? Yes.

First of all, claims are different from fact. We don't know what their claim of one million followers is based on. Official membership? Registered users? Speculation? Pure jest? I'm willing to bet one million is nice round number chosen arbitrarily, because the entire thing exists to mock worshippers of otherwise legitimate faiths.

If anything, i take this number to mean "one million" people view religion as a problem, hence their "support" of this mock religion.

As of May 10, 2007, The CIA World Factbook estimates the global population to be 6,602, 224, 175. One million "followers" is far less than one percent of the world.

So what are you concerned about?

FSM is no more and no less legitimate than any other faiths. Just because more people have been sucked into Christianity for example, it doesn't make it real.

A lot of people are into The Simpsons, it doesn't make them real.

Perhaps if enough people believe we can form an FSM thought form.
