Woops, sorry I didn't see thast post. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one to come up with the crazy idea. I hope the guy who took the photos comes on here and sees all the debate on this object. He needs to go get more photos, especially close-ups on the writing. I've read one of the symbols is Japanese for "fu". What does that translate as?

It probably stands for "Fake UFO."

Seriously though, I don't know about the whole Stargate theory lol. I will go as far as to say that it is possible that the object is some sort of unmanned probe or something, but a Stargate?

Haha. It is a mad idea isn't it. Well, you never know. Here's another one. Maybe it's a soul sucker. You know, like hoovering up the souls of our dearly departed for recycling, in case they escape from our prison planet. Or maybe it's a giant mosquito killer. "Don't come too close mate, or ZAP, you're a gonner." Maybe it's the other end of a teleportation device? Oops, that's kind of back to the stargate thing again. Still think the photos are great & the object looks real enough to me. If we don't hear any more about it I don't think I'll put it down to a hoax. It's just another mystery to add to the rest.

It seems there are still people who think the UFO is real. It stands to reason as first;
It has japanese symbols on the bottom.And what appears to be a barcode.
Second;
The photograph is far to close, if it was an alien he would not have been able to take a picture so easily.
after all aiens have been eluding clear defining photography since we had cameras. It seems unlikley that you could catch one sittiong around doing nothing.
Thirdly;
It has no obvious way of flying, just appears to be a strange toy.

What about handshake? None of the photos exhibit handshake. Since the craft was moving and the photographer not a pro (a pro would have used a digital video camera) there should be some indication of blur created by the combination of a moving aerial craft and handshake.

You wouldn't catch "handshake" or motion in the photo unless the shutter speed were below 1/60 second, especially if the supposed object is moving slowly.

It's broad daylight under open skies, and judging by the crispness of everything, these pics had to be shot at a speed over 1/60.

Looks like we've got a bonified klingon ceiling fan on the loose somewhere in the US.

They were still photos in broad daylight. Handshake does not apply.

I saw no bar code. Where was the bar code?

I'm not saying this thing is for sure real. All I'm saying is have an open mind to the possibility. It's a lot more fun that way. Wouldn't it be cool if this was real?

It was stated that meaning under the UFO means "FU"? WWII FU-Fighters! Somebody being funny here?

Hi all,

First time poster, loooong time lurker.

Two things:

First of all it’s NOT Japanese!

Written Japanese consists of two types of characters; Chinese characters, called Kanji and Japanese characters called Kana.
The kanji characters are words or part of words and the Kana characters are phonetic and have no meaning on their own. Kana consists of two different sets of corresponding characters; Katakana and Hiragana. Katakana use straighter lines and Hiragana is more cursive.

The characters in the pics resemble katakana but that’s it! I can read and write katakana and I can say with out a doubt that those characters in those photos are not katakana.

Next thing; I'm not saying this isn't a hoax but I will say this: If it indeed is a hoax the person who did it is extremely skilled IMO.

Sure - It can be duplicated fairly easy by someone skilled enough in 3DS Max and PS or whatever. But what people seem to forget is that the hard part is actually coming up with the design, and in my opinion I think this one is bloody fantastic! The main reason is because it totally throws me. It looks nothing like you'd imagine a UFO would look like, and that's why, if it’s a hoax it's so damn good. Extremely creative design.

I hope we can somehow get to the bottom of this because I don't feel satisfied with just letting this linger on as either real or a hoax. We need to figure out for sure which one it is. Because either way it is incredible. If it is a hoax, then it is done extremely well and we will have this hoax for reference of new hoaxes to come in the future. If it is real, well then I think it's obvious that it would be incredible to say the least...

said it's gone "in the blink of an eye".

Im sorry but you are thinking about this way too much. I believe it is fake.

Whatever it is it is either not very large or has been pasted in.

This is blown up 400%. I think pasted in. In the shot where it is flying over much more solid trees the branches are affected by lens flare while the object is not. Also the spike pointing away from the trees has its top edge visible. It is obviously highly reflective because of the contrast. It should be burned out, as the others are. Actually it even looks like the cinema 4D renderer.

Has everyone read the "reaction" page on coast to coast?

www.coasttocoastam.com...

Some interesting things brought up. Especially with the lettering.

I believe that we can all agree that this is a phony. It is nice looking though and has earned the right to be set to my desktop.

Yea there is some interesting stuff on that page. Here is my favorite explanation:

A friend of mine who is an electrical/mechanical engineer said this in response to my email to him about Chad's mysterious craft pictures: "Yah, the US government has things like this, they build them up in Rancho Bernardo. Mini drones. They use them in Iraq to patrol neighborhoods. Someone has apparently built their own or acquired one and is having fun flying around, painting strange markings on it. It's basically a big fan with gyros to stabilize it. Technology is advancing fast. I just read an article where they're working on mini-bird-like drones as small as 6" that flex their wings and fly like birds through dense urban areas, subways, stairs, stores, that kind of thing. Pretty cool. I remember a Star Trek episode where a group of people were being followed by these, and how terrifying it was for them. These are actually pretty common." He goes on to say: "They use them to fly over areas where troops are going to move in, to check it for enemy troops and minimize casualties."

As a photographer that too caught my attention, very difficult to shoot anything white in bright sunlight. IMHO it should've been severely burned out.
