damn what the hell??? all that aggresive behavior was totally uncalled for. especially for the reporters. from what i learned in class is police are allowed to use forceful tactics if they feel they are being threatend.. i don't see how a reporter and camera crew can be threatening to the police!!! ughhhhhh wtf?!! and yeah the whole battoning her from the back..SOOOO UNCALLED FOR. i could understand if she was being violent or something but she was just standing there.. damn that whole scenario pisses me off.
anyway why would she get fired over this? she didn't do anything wrong in my eyes. but whatevs.

i had a few thoughts after watching the video and reading the replies. it seems quite clear to me that all of us here care and just want the truth/justice/peace/happiness we are all looking for. that is why we are all so desperate and skeptical and everything else, i believe.

my point is, is that we all want the same thing, pretty much.

but certain forces/influences have it so that it is hard to be happy/peaceful/content when there is so much outside push to buy/win/succeed. we are told that we need things to be happy, and while we know deep inside that it is not true, our actions/behaviors end up pursuing things we don't really need/want.

But there are so many of us. We outnumber them a million to one (guesstimate). The people in "power" that really lust after it and feed off of it (because they have attained material wealth and are still not happy) and a major minority.

I believe that there is a good possibility that the police in this video were ordered to be as aggressive as they were. I think that they may be "trying out" this "new" form of policing. If there is not much public outcry, then they might/will see it as a message to continue, because everybody (who is crazy) wants "power". Then everybody might/will get used to that form, because that is now the "norm". People can get used to anything. Even eating bugs and slugs.

I know how it feels sometimes, so helpless, because if we rely on mass media for an understanding of the world, we see an already influenced/biased world. But we must never forget, that the influence/controller/nwo/rich/whatever cannot do anything to us if we do not let them. there is SOOOOOO much more good in the world than bad. Its just that the bad sticks out more. Well, that's if you believe in god/meaning/creator/intelligence, i suppose.

Their greatest fear is when we all have had enough and we all finally wake up. I get shivers thinking about it. Doesn't the good always win in the end?

Forgive me if I didn't get through to you, and thank you if I did.

A lot of you keep saying that these people were attacked because they are immigrants....Alright, why does it matter if they are immigrants?

According to google:
Immigrant - A person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another.

I see nothing wrong with that, do you?

I cant believe this kind of stuff is allowed to go on. This wouldve been unheard of just about 15-20 years ago. My Father spent around 23 years in the Dallas PD, i occasionally show him clips like this and he cant believe how agressive the police have become towards civilians.
The thing about this is that cops ARE getting away with this type of behavior, practically on a daily basis.
This is really shocking to me, never would i dream that my country, our country, would have its very own version of Tiananmen Square. So we havent had tanks rolling in yet, thats the key word, YET
If someone had come up to me in 1988 as I graduated high school and told me that within 15-20 years, we would live in a time and a place where cops were being called on children, and the very elderly and the Cops would not only arresting them, they were also hitting them with batons, shocking them with tasers and gang tackling them in their OWN homes. That cops would "take down" elderly residents in their own home because the refused to allow cops and civilian mercenaries to illegaly enter their homes to carry out more illegal orders by seizing the arms from law abiding citizens.
What the hell has happened? WTF is going on? More importantly why in the HELL arent we doing something to STOP this BS?
Sorry for the long post, im done...for now.. I probably repeated myself a couple of times but I kinda got carried away, which I very rarely EVER do.

edit: I just thought of one more thing while I was skimming through the Fox News Website.
Why in the hell isnt this splashed all over the Fox website. .
Of course this is more of a statement and Im not really expecting an answer from anybody.

Those officers and their supervisors should be immediately suspended and brought up on charges...

It is very simply actions like that that give us all a bad name...

What I saw was uncalled for, unnecessary and criminal...

They just need to be thankful that I am not their I.A. Officer!

Unbelievable, I can understand controlling those who were throwing bottles and rocks; but this was clearly uncalled for and damaging to those police officers who do their jobs in a fair and professional manner. I believe we still have freedom of the press and the right to assemble.

Lot of stuff going on here. A few things to say:

C.O.P. = Criminals On Patrol.

These bullies are too anonymous
Big Numbers on each cop will ensure more individual accountability.

Masks, shields, helmets, balaclavas, boots, guns, batons, pepper-spray, goggles, gloves, body armour, tazers, cuffs, etc, etc, etc..........and all paid for by the American people ......what the heck more do they need.

Sorry to say this but they are not the police, They Are The Army In Disguise

It makes me sick

It was reported by fox as well as other news agencies that the police were attacked. The point i'm stressing is - .

it doesn't justify the Police attacking the rest of the crowd.

Strawman comment was referring the the strawman argument you used, when you tried to suggest that if a riot had developed, people would blame the police for not doing anything.

Wow the police really are getting hard these days, it kind of reminds me of places like Russia where the police run around with their batons going crazy.

Though, even though there is meant to be a free right to media, that woman shouldn't be so surprised that she got pushed. It was her choice to go into that danger zone, she's not a god or the queen or anything so she shouldn't expect to be treated like one. The first time she was pushed she seemed like one of those women who get so happy if they are pushed by a man because they can make a big drama out of it.

I'm not saying her manhandling was justified. But she knows she can start screaming blue murder like she thinks she is the queen or whatever, and there's not much anyone can do about it, which I find quite irritating.

The Mob started this action, they threw bottles and rocks at officers.

Also, most of these people, are NOT legal Americans, they dont belong here, and are here by breaking the laws. These people shouldn't be sueing over what the police did, they should be on a bus heading back to the place were they came from

What, what were people so confused about, i think a few hundred officers with riot gear is a good signal to get out of the area. And the women who is arguing with the police, shut up and listen.

Hear Hear !! Some common sense to counter all the bleeding heart liberals around here.

I think immigration's a good thing - when done correctly. But these people are not doing it correctly - and not only do they not WANT to do it correctly, their protesting to prove it !

I for one am NOT talking about the the "mob" I was talking about the attacks on the reporters, as much as the media pisses me off they did nothing wrong. It was wrong and if you cant see that, then some people really need to remove their blinders.
I could care less what happens to the mob of illegal protesters. They dont belong here and theyre here illegally and they have the nerve to riot in our streets? They do not deserve they same civil rights that our constitution allows us because they are not citizens. therefore their perceived right to assembly is not their right.
But the military/police need to understand where to draw the line and realize that not everybody that shows up there are protesters and the Police know this, they know that there will be press there
It reminded me of, when i was taking a picture of a soldier loading his weapon in Abbeyville La after Hurricane Rita. He yelled at me, cussed me and threatened to take my camera, he at one point, even tried to reach through my window. like said in post above..WTF is going on?

That makes me sick too!

Has anyone seen the video of the cop in Tampa Fla man handling the woman that was going to see her Dad in the hospital that was having a heart attack?
Now that is really disgusting!
Cops think they are Gods!

This surprises you guys? That's the LAPD at work. Living in Los Angeles sucks sometimes. I suppose the Police figured they could get some practice in as many of the protesters were not citizens and thus would refrain from filing a lawsuit. This could likely lead to La Raza and other groups who subscribe to the Aztlan theory to become militant.

Jeez. This happens, and now suddenly everyone hates the police.

It was a protest that degenerated into a small riot, and the police responded out of proportion. It was a mistake. They should have an example made out of them. But Jesus, calm down about calling them criminals.

Still being there after the police had told them to leave was wrong. If she's not going to listen to the police then she shouldn't expect them to treat her like a queen.

And just because she's a reporter it doesn't make her special, she can still get in the way and be annoying like everyone else. If you don't want to be pushed and shoved a bit then getting in the faces of riot police isn't exactly the smartest occupation, is it?

Semper,
As much as I tend to dis-agree with you I'm glad you see the wrong in this. At lest this gives me hope that a few with common sense are still among the ranks of the local police.

This is appalling.

If you ever wondering what exactly the Patriot Act is doing for you ... this is it. It enables the government to initiate Martial Law at will. Pretty soon we'll only be able to film, publish or say what they deem appropriate.

Would we have equal rights now had they done this at the million man march when it started? Where will this end? If the American people keep allowing the government to overturn the laws that this country was founded on to protect it's people, it will never end.

Do you think the President Bush should be impeached? Careful what you say. Saying such things could get you labeled as a "domestic terrorist." You could be locked up and subject to a Military Tribunal under the laws of the Patriot Act.

This has nothing to do with the Patriot Act or President George W. Bush.
