How awesome would it be if ATS had a weekend convention in Las Vegas and we all wear name badges with our ATS names on them! Man that would be so cool! Three days of debauchery and debate! I'm down, who else is with me?

I say Atlanta...it has the world's busiest airport and a Masonic library.
Oh, and it's only three hours from my house, is the home of my favorite baseball team and I can stay with relatives for free.

How about a little closer to the middle of the US like Denver? It has an airport that has even been talked about on here.

London's my second pick. It has conspiracy crap coming out the yin-yang and is the world's nicest large city, though I haven't been to Tokyo yet.

Sorry dingleberry, but didn't ATS start in the US? Not to mention I think most members are here too. I wouldn't mind visiting Australia, bt it is too expensive for me!

We could have Chapters and have an annual celebration with all of our chapters.

Lets form a ATS cult

I wouldn't mind having some sort of "mini" ATS convention. Just for people within a certain region or something. It could be split up between the East coast, Midwest, South and West coast, or even in the time zones or something.

Chapters sound like a good idea to me. We can all wear foil hats and have very nervous secret handshakes!!

You could do them all at roughly the same time, and link them up thru a videoconference system.

The Possibilites are endless and theres not much that can't be done in this day and age. I think that its a pretty good idea and introduced it in all seriousness. I wonder if the Amigos would endorse something like this? what do you guys think?

Nothing to stop you from starting a local chapter on your own, I have seen that the Australians have done that.

I agree. I think that an Above Top Secret Convention is a pretty good idea. I've organized comic book and Star Trek conventions in the past (Detroit Triple Fan Fair and Star Con) and I would think that an ATS Con is a "natural".

Given the international nature of ATS, it might be rather difficult to put together a venue that would please everyone.

The best thing that I could suggest is simply getting "local" members together. Last year, a half dozen ATS members in South West Ontario, Canada got together in Toronto and this year, I am planning on hosting an ATS BBQ at a cottage on the shores of Lake Huron for any members who can make the drive.

I suggest that you might be able to do the same thing in your own region. I know that meeting fellow ATS members really changed the way I look at this site. Those clever usernames suddenly take on new meanings. There are actual human beings attached to them! The part that gets me is how so many really great people managed to find themselves all on one site! I guess great minds think alike -- we all want to deny ignorance!

Please note; although I am a mod....I am replying to this question strictly as a regular ATS member. My comments on this thread do not reflect any planning or policy of Above Top Secret. It's simply my own , personal, opinion and should be taken as such.

The only problem would be getting enough money together to rent out a place for everyone to meet. Unless everybody could meet at a bar or even perhaps like a video arcade or something.

I would like to officially start the Denver area/Mountain time zone/ Whatever region I'm in chapter!!!!

Plus maybe once in a while we could get all the leaders of the chapters and anyone else that would like to go to meet in the same city.

Yeah you could pretty much meet anywhere depending on the size of your group. I'm here in L.A. so there are bars and coffee shops on every corner
And I know them all well
I think we should start chapters!

I'm definately up for it!!! By the way, this thread is a clever one, kleverone!
If nobody wants to meet in Denver, I would be more than willing to drive somewhere else with enough notice!!

Vegas Baby! Veeegassss!

I'm telling you, the casinos serve free alchohol and hotels are cheap as heck!

I guess that would be a cheap flight for me or a twelve hour drive. Plus if we had enough people going, I bet we could get some sort of group discount! I just don't think it would be much fun for the under 21 crowd.
