Moving Alien Spacecraft Shadow Photographed On Mars!

There is a big difference between posting an image of dubious credibility, and offering no further evidence, and posting a well researched concept. We should be looking at new and even unusual ideas, and perhaps promoting the concept of radical ideas in the light of day. This thread was based on nonsense and meets no standard of credibility. Was there any attempt at "Due Diligence?" Was there any serious attempt at rational thought? Was even the most basic attempt at credibility undertaken? If you can answer these questions with a positive, then you would be correct in thinking that this was a reasonable attempt at the concept "Deny Ignorance." If you can only answer the questions with a negative, then the thread was a clear example of promoting ignorance.

I happen to agree with you Terapin, that the post title, content should have been more unbiased as to not be so "Enquiring minds want to know-like", but to label someone and accuse just based on some past posts and really only conjecture seems a little McCarthy-witch-hunt like to me.

Terapin isn't alone in his/her? assessment. I have also pointed out that mike tends to spam the forum, and his own threads, with photos, links, and sources, of dubious legitimacy.

In this case, this isn't the first time mike has used that spectacularly stupid website as a source and titled the thread with a Weekly World News style of hype.

As bizarre as it seems though, they get traffic.

I agree but if a person posts this on a consistent basis and people believe they are only here to HOAX the board, then bring this up to moderators, where a fair and judicious group can debate and form a consensus. Otherwise we'll be having every other person accusing every other person of this or that on the basis of a suspicious (in the accusers eyes) profile history.

There are other questionable sites, jeez like Pravda and Worldnetdaily, but some sites seem darn genuine to some people (mainly noobs). Pravda.ru looks fairly legit, until you start to research or check some back stories out.

Heck even wikipedia is darn questionable in my eyes on some (most?) topics, but many many threads are based in quotes from this seemlingly legit source. So thats where you again ask "where/how do you draw the line with regards to due diligence" in posting?

You may probably get a scientist of high caliber to match your lofty intellect. What are you here on ATS for? Pour scorn and ridicule? Have you taken it upon yourself to stand guard and act as a super moderator/commentator? You’ve got plenty of time left to graduate to that level.

Let’s make one thing clear dude. You mention researching everything before posting and only post issues once proved beyond doubt. That’s what you imply. Then I think that ATS should shut down the sections on Aliens and UFOs, and ban John Lear and others too.
Have you commented on other UFO/abduction posts? Have they all been thoroughly researched before posting here on ATS? And researched to what end? The result will always be the same. NO EVIDENCE. Period! So, in other words, no one should have posted in the Aliens/UFO section because, as you contend, there is, till date, NO evidence whatsoever, whether one’s mind has been applied or not while researching the incident. Has anyone proved beyond reasonable doubt the existence / reality of UFOs and aliens? There are billions of pages on the web. And thousands on ATS. But NOTHING has been corroborated where aliens and UFOs are concerned. So should ATS shut down the UFO Section?

If proof and corroborated evidence was available on the net and elsewhere, then what is there to discuss in the first place? Why ATS?

And what ‘research’ do you imply before posting on ATS? How much? One year? Ten? Where UFOs and aliens are concerned, you can keep at it till doomsday, but may never get the proof or evidence one requires. And so logically, everything is a hoax, because it can’t be proved. Where do you draw the line?

If you don’t like these threads, then what prompts you to keep coming back? You’re pathetic to say the least. Instead of pouring scorn and filling pages of drivel, it would be better to use your intelligence to prove that the issue is fake, in a logical manner, applying your mind and coming out with rational explanations, or better still, quit the thread. Trying to prove your intellectually superiority by pointless vile comments doesn’t auger well for minimum decorum requirements of ATS.

Here in this thread is a perfect example as to why disclosure will never come. You have two sides fighting over this. One side says its real the other side says it's not. Really when you join ATS you should have to declare if your a republican or a democrat.

I'm going with a fotochop job. The shadow looks like its been overlayed on the original. Watch it frame by frame.....the shadow of the large rock doesn't change appearance....and it should. It should nearly disappear.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It certainly isn't Phobos, since the apparent angular size of that moon from the surface of Mars is less than that of the Sun. It's also worth noting that it has an irregular shape.

This thing is either a UFO or a fake and my personal opinion is that it is fake, simply because it too damn good to be true.

NASA would never let something like this get past them and if they did, we would have all heard about it back in 97.

It is definitely not a shadow of either Phobos or Deimos. Such a shadow would cover many miles and could only be caused by a Martian solar eclipse and I think NASA would know about it if their Lander just so happened to be in the perfect time and place to observe such an event and if so they would have made a big deal about it.

It is definitely not the shadow of the Lander’s antenna dish either. The only light source on Mars is the sun and a shadow cast from the dish would either be small circular and at the foot of the dish's support pylon or extremely elongated and narrow. The only way the dish could cast a shadow like this were if someone shone a powerful lantern at the dish from a very close distance.

So it's either fake or really strong evidence of extraterrestrial technology on Mars and like I said earlier my personal opinion is that it’s a big ole smelly fake.

Guys, I really think you ought to stop debating if this is real or not for one reason- this site does not look like a hoax site, it looks like a joke site. The MIB page describes MIBs in the (seemingly) intentionally humorous quote of:

If you take the time to look at the face on mars page, in which it says that there are other monuments next to the face that form a message, it all amounts to a very simple pop culture joke at the end-

"Rephrased into modern English, NASA linguists believe the message reads: ”The truth is out there.” "

This really does seem to be a tongue-in-cheek joke site. It is not meant to be taken seriously, and it shows.

Mike, did you do ANY research on the data before you posted it? Why did you make the statement that it was an alien spaceship shadow, and what do you base that on?

I never stated that someone needs to do Ten years of hard study before posting, but spamming the boards, with what is obviously a fake, is simply promoting ignorance.

I am not stating that I believe ALL UFO/Alien related material is a hoax by it's nature, and I have clearly stated that I do indeed believe in the possibility of life elsewhere in the universe. The problem is that you clearly post phony data without any attempt at seriousness.

The Motto of ATS is DENY IGNORANCE and I intend to do just that. If someone posts clear nonsense then I will call them on it. I have seen other postings, where the individual made a good case for their ideas by offering good data, good science, and good sources. In this thread there was no attempt at all of offering anything of merit. Just a hoaxed image from a joke site.

There are members with serious intentions about Alien existence. They attempt to offer better evidence and always try to leave out hoaxes as that only weakens the claim. It took only a few seconds to determine that the Website hosting the data you offered, is a joke. It took only a few moments to determine that the images you offered had been manipulated. That did not require weeks of research, just due diligence and a moment of rational thought. Is that asking too much??? Not on ATS.

In the endeavor to Deny Ignorance, one must uphold a high standard of credibility. Your credibility is shot because you have a long history of posting nonsense. If you noticed, I am not the only individual who feels this way. A few of your postings are lucid and worth looking at, particularly the interesting images you collect from the various space agencies. Many of your postings are a total waste of space as they offer mere hype and bogus data along with unfounded claims. If you chose to stop putting junk on the board, I am certain you would have a great deal to offer. Until then I will Deny Ignorance and call you on posting trash every time I see it.

Its weird. you ever seen when like a plane passes the sun and cast a shadow really fast or what ever. the shadows whould conture to the surface, around rocks, bushes, house. this looks nothing like that and in the left hand corner even the sky is shaded. I don't its a weird deal period. I don't think this is real, someone show me otherwise please.
