As a former angel of God, one might think so. However, I disagree with this statement. Satan only has more power than humans that accept him into their lives.

Satan occasionally tries to enter my life but I thwart him with prayer and Bible reading.

I believe that Satan generally reaches three types of people:

1) Those with a concurrence with evil: these people are generally happier when an evil event occurs, i.e., with murder.

2) Those who oppose God due to greed: these people believe in God, but due to their selfish desires frequently oppose His actions.

3) Those who are atheist: these people fail to give credit to the Creator of their lives.

Satan is only more powerful than us if we let him be. A strong will and faith can eliminate all the evil from our lives.

Evil, despite the way it is sometimes portrayed in the media, is not glamorous. It is the most disgraceful and punished act we can perform.

Nothing falls out of the knowledge of God. Finding Him is the key to Eternal Life.

Satan always falls short of God and faithful human beings.

my life was created by two people, and i give my parents credit for giving me life AND for helping me continue life at their own personal sacrafice.

if you're saying satan reaches people who would come to the COMPLETELY LOGICAL conclusion that there is no deity in the universe, than you're saying your god is the enemy of the reason said ... thingy (ok, i'm running out of general terms for omnipotent beings) instilled in you.

Satan has more power than humans if you believe satan exists. Since I don't believe satan exists then it has no power over me.

Btw I noticed theres no #4 since i'm not an Atheist(3), but don't believe in god(2) and definitely not happier seeing murder etc(1) then satan if it existed can not reach me. :p

GT, once again, WHO is 'satan'? Or rather, who or what force are you referring to? This always confuses me, you know.

GT first off define evil and this satan thing your so fond of??? And secondly why do you always insist on catagorising things into YOUR little view of how things are?

As most people point out there is always a number 4, 5, 6, 7, ----- 100 that doesn't figure in your scheme of things, so why do you always insist with the ' what category are you?' posts. We dont all fit in your pigeon holes!!

Well, satan doesn't scare me at all. In fact I have not believed in hell or the devil since I was eleven. If he is real, though, I imagine he'd be more powerful than a human.

Satan is the adversary of all human beings, the "accuser."

Satan exists. I refer you to Luke 4:1-13, when Satan tempted Jesus Christ. I, too, have been occasionally tempted by him, independent of the Bible. Tempted, not to commit crime, but to say or write bad things about other people. I reject him at all costs.

Evil is anything adverse to a Soul living longer.

It is easy to pigeon-hole anybody, humans living, and humans that have passed on.

Open yourself to God, and you are open to a world and Universe of Infinite Wisdom.

Too funny!! queenannie38!!!!(snort laughing here) That was a good one!(Not making fun at all, honestly, just thought what you said was ACTUALLY funny)

Oh boy oh boy....

Personally, IMO, I don't think the 'unmentionable one' forgets 'human deeds'.

He will remember them for future use, and will use them to perpetrate/instigate other actions from human beings to fufill his plans.

Now as far as Satan having more power than human beings?

(I will refer to Satan as a Masculine form; though this being can revert between masculine/feminine - he was attributed as being solely masculine from many HOLY books i.e. The Bible, The Quran, The Talmud)

From my beliefs and understandings:

NO. He doesn't have complete power over mankind.

He has power to manipulate our choices through any means though.

You don't know the half of it! You oughta be in my shoes right now!

Oh boy oh boy....

Half boy, half man. But that's okay - room to grow!

Depends. Definitely he remembers EVERY little faux pas made even as far as back as the second day of acquaintance. BUT if it is something that HE did to someone else who didn't deserve it...amazing deleting power in THAT soul's hard drive!

Lucky for him that someone who loves him has a super-duper divine recovery program that will bring ALL forgotten things to the top.

For healing purposes, only, of course. I'll let you know how it goes

queenannie38, your mention of a "super-duper divine recovery program" is inspirational (maybe I misinterpreted???). If Satan is sometimes forgiven by God, who isn't? Sometimes I feel tormented because of my past experience with women [whom I love!!!, but have frequently failed with because I believe of my lack of intellectual skills (numbers are my only gift)]. At the age of 40, I feel fairly old as maybe a consequence.

May God continue to produce gorgeous intellects in women; queenannie38, you are a prime example.

May God's love and grace be with us All!!!

GreatTech,

You really are a nasty person, aren't you.

You start a thread, accusing athiests of 'all and sundry' and when the argument is overwhelmingly against you, you sneak off and start another thread abusing athiests and others, without addressing the points brought up in the first thread.

You are the most intolerant person I have encountered on this site. You are a bad Christian, and a dangerous individual. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Your knowledge of religion is narrow, limited to your own particular brand of Christianity, one which I believe is unique to you, as the things you say have nothing whatsoever to do with the teachings of that faith.

You are the type of person who starts wars!

I would recommend that everyone boycott any thread started by this person, as all he wants is to preach his own warped beliefs at us all, and will not take on board any point from anyone else.

I am an athiest, and therefore, believe in neither God or Satan, but if I did, I would know that it is Satan that is directing GreatTech's actions, not God!

Let us all be rid of religious extremists like this person and just let him talk to himself on the warped, hate-filled threads he starts. For that is what you are about, GreatTech - you hate anyone who doesn't agree with your warped views.

The Winged Wombat

By the way, GreatTech, I showed your previous thread to a Catholic minister and he agrees with my sentiments as written above - so get some psychiatric help!

GreatTech,

I have more than adequate love in my (successful) life, thank you. I have a lovely wife, two sons and a daughter. One son is currently fighting in Afghanistan (on your behalf), one is working in Darwin and my daughter is at the heights of clinical phsychology - so high that your country is trying to entice her to a position at one of your universities. I was able to retire at 50 years of age (although not rich by any means). I have the respect of my peers in my sporting endeavours. I have many, many friends all over the world. What more could any man ask of his finite life. My life is full of love.

All this without your 'precious God' and I can truthfully say that I have not cheated nor harmed any man, woman, child or animal. Keep your afterlife - I don't want to know the disgusting, intolerant, ignorant, xenophobic world you would make this planet.

I do not need your prayers to Satan either! You don't know God, any God. All you can tell us about is what a miserable failure of a human being you are/were when you don't have a supernatural being to believe in and blame all the wrongs of the world on. You are a shallow, useless being who will not accept personal reponsibilty for your actions. Like your self-righteous country you are headed for disaster of your own making. Again, like your politicians, you are not satisfied to sink alone, you just have to try to take the rest of us with you.

You think that you are enticing us to accept a 'God' - well, your God, anyway - but in reality, all your posts say is what a total failure in life you actually are.

You are sick and need treatment.

Is satan more powerful than humans?

That depends, if you believe satan is more powerful than humans. Then yes he is simply because you give him that power.

If you dont believe satan has more power, then I suppose he doesnt.

Whether or not you are a spiritual person, evil exist and from a religious stand point evil is considered to be satan.

I would not be civil to any other religious extremist, why should I be civil to this one after 24 pages of this garbage on his last thread ?

There is a time to tolerate all things, but there is also a time to stand up and speak the truth.

Is the US 'civil' with Osama Bin Laden, or the properly elected government of Palestine, or perhaps with Fidel Castro, or to the people of Iraq, who are dying at the rate of 100 per day recently. bUt that's not important if a couple of Americans a day get killed, is it.

The day 32 people died at Virginia Tech, militants killed 200 in Iraq - did you even notice - I doubt it! Let's cut the double standards.

I was under the impression that ATS was about truth, but perhaps its not!

Blitz,

As an athiest, I do not believe that evil as an entity (personified by Satan or otherwise) exists.

Given that I can say that the 'bad' things that people do (from the extremely insignificant to genicide) are explainable by such things as greed, envy, clinical madness and other documented mental conditions and religious intolerance - among other things quite human) then where do you see 'evil' in nature or the world? My feeling is that when you try to understand why people do the outrageously destructive things that they do, then that is the first step to stopping that kind of behaviour. Just by attributing their behaviour to Satan, or 'evil' doesn't stop it happening again and again.. (Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Pol Pot, Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Ghengis Khan, Spanish Inquisition, more than one of the early Popes, the Crusades - when will it stop? - Not until we can ALL recognise the signs and understand the causes and circumstances that give rise to these abominable things). Personally, I cannot think of anything quite as stupid as killing people because the don't believe the same things that you believe.

For instance, was Saddam Hussein 'evil' or possessed by Satan, or was he merely(!) a megalomanic (a mental condition) politician whose greed and power hunger blinded him to the consequences of his actions? Indeed, did his belief in his 'God' convince him that what he was doing had divine approval?

Finally, I am a little offended by your signature. I do not believe in 'God', but I am not ignorant of religion, in all its forms and beliefs, nor am I unintelligent. So your signature is incorrect, one may be quite learned on the matter of theology and (by any standards) be quite intelligent and still not believe in a supernatural creator figure.
