If he didn't believe in UFO's I suppose that would make him more normal than those of us who do? Why are people dissecting this dead man's personality? The potential to do extremely evil things is within everyone..even the Pope. It just takes the right "hot botton". The only bright spot in this relatively small tragedy is that the murderer killed himself. I was so sick of seeing Timothy McVeah's (sp?) face on TV every week for YEARS after the Oklahoma City bombing.

I would be inclined to believe a lot of people, particularly today's youth, would be in agreement with you.

One fact a former schoolmate told about (he both went to VTU and to the same high school as Cho) was a time when a teacher threatened to give him a passing grade if he did not participate in a class reading. When Cho finally did read aloud, he read with that weird, low, monotone voice that doesn't seem to fit him properly if you listened to the manifest audio you know what I mean.

Well according to this former classmate, the class was mocking his speech and did the verbal damage, gang-like terrorism like a lot of students unfortunately go through in "typical" growing up. A lot of scientists say this is a normal process (a different topic for another day?) but this is certainly a seed, if true. They were telling him to "go back to China" according to this particular source.

This story overshadowed the 100's of lives that died over this span of time (since the massacre...) in Iraq by 100 fold. 100 fold or more.

I wonder if Bush would have been weeping that day had the public known what was said in the video that was soon to be all over msnbc. I would have been too scared and too angry were I the pres in that situation.

This is a very stirring case and making light of it is just impossible. Your position isn't rediculous, but certainly comes off insensitive. But insensitivity is not a crime. Yet.

Completely unnecessary. Why hasn't someone shut it down? Good lord - does every fricking news story that gets enough minutes on CNN somehow have to get connected to UFOs? Anyone find a photo of Anna Nicole with a speck in the sky behind her? Let's start a thread about that! Let's blow the speck up until we see all the jpeg artifacts and start getting all excited and pretending like we're on topic.

Sophismata

You would be so absolutely right were there NOT a reason that picture was taken, with the reaction on this thread so far, there is clearly a solid reason for analysis of what exactly is that a picture of. Thus, you are wrong.

I've already mentioned my common sense approach - it's most likely a Helicopter, and several have concurred. What do you think it is?

Why not let the discussion go on, as it's an angle that is nowhere else on the net or tv... it's an angle and it should continue to be expanded on because we all want answers to the hows and whys all this crap happened in the first place.

At the risk of a one line response -

It's a spot on the camera lense. IMHO.

So, I wonder why his classmates weren't suspended and penalized for racial harassment? Come on, how could this sort of racism slip by today's politically-correct education system? They expel people from school for less. That particular account sort of conflicts with the quote of another of Cho's high school classmates:

Stephanie Roberts, 22, a fellow member of Cho's graduating class at Westfield High, said she never witnessed anyone picking on Cho in high school. "I just remember he was a shy kid who didn't really want to talk to anybody," she said. "I guess a lot of people felt like maybe there was a language barrier."

Cho High School Story

Pardon, but I'm not buying this Oh, Poor Cho nonsense, these attempts to justify his murderous actions by blaming high school bullies, or trying to politicize the massacre. The only purpose such excuses serve is to deflect responsibility from the one piece of human garbage that perpetrated this slaughter. If anybody can sympathize with this killer, then I would suggest a little mental health counseling for yourself — before it's too late.

Your completely blind.
Americas school systems are as corrupt as the LAPD.

I grew up in a smaller sized city, 15,000 people.
The main thing with that school, as MANY others in the area near me, was that poor kids got treated horribly, compared to rich kids, as well as minorities did.
So to ask how could they let it slip by unnoticed, when his classmates harrassed his, and made fun of him?
Easily, people are quick to turn they're heads, when they want to fit in with the crowd.
Our school systems, as well as justice system is on the way to hell.

Noone should have faith in either anymore, this is not the 50's... neighborhoods are no longer safe.
Kids dont scrape theyre knees, and all the neighborhood moms come out to see whats wrong.
That's long gone.
Now, as we've seen with many many different videos, people can get STABBED in the middle of the street, and NOONE does anything to help, or anything period.
Noone cares, because we've been programmed through tv, and other sources not to be sensative to those things nearly as much.

Fact of the matter is, this kid was not sick, he was not mentally ill.
He was no different from any other kid who felt left out, bullied, and beaten down.
He got pushed into a corner, and lashed out because he had enough.
You can deny it, you can try to block it out, but EVERYONE is capable of doing the exact same thing at any point and time, and it doesnt take a mentally ill, or sick individual to kill.

Nope. I've been shooting dozens of different cameras for longer than many of you have been alive, and a spot on the lens would never appear as a tiny, opaque spot on the photo.

Try it yourself — put a tiny bit of black tape or something on your digital camera lens (or any camera lens), and see if it appears as a tiny, sharply-defined blemish on the photo. It doesn't.

Besides, Cho's camera's auto focus is shooting to infinity. There is no way that a speck (or even a blob) on the lens would appear as a sharp, distinct spot when shooting to infinity.

Infact, I hope EVERY kid in America who's ever been bullied, stands up, and lashes out.
It's about time America wakes the # up.

Seriously, if there's one area I'm very knowledgeable of, it's high schoolers and particularly here in L.A. I have heard my share of racial slurs - every race under the sun gets it from insensitive peers as to the more feminine acting boys, or people in general who tend to think, dress or otherwise show a sense of uniqueness.

it's a battleground, and to deny it probably would suggest you never attended a public school in your life.

I work in a juvenille hall through the county of l.a. and I work with a korean boy who (on at least one occasion) took 10 hits of ecstasy over the course of one night and decided to "play" with his gun. Nobody got shot that night, luckily, but now he's doing a couple years.

And to be honest, he's nuts and I'm glad he was caught - but what about when he gets out? He still talks about his drug abuse and guns with pride. Totally different scenario, but then again, the comparisons are enough to make me stop and think.

PS that black dot is NOT a spot on the lens.

Fact of the matter is, Cho was a mental case who intimidated students and teachers alike. He scared people, he was so twisted. Read through this for some first-hand descriptions of his behavior:

Cho's Mental Stability at VT

If stalking women isn't the act of a mentally ill person, or murdering people execution-style isn't the act of a mentally ill person, then I don't know what mentally ill is.

I am a high school teacher in Australia. I completely agree. I see it day-in, day-out, every day of the school year.

Bullying in schools happens. Some teachers have little to no control over the class or a particular situation. It is often easier to turn a blind-eye than to report a situation and create a paper-trail of red-tape.

School administration staff can often be corrupt or incompetent or both when dealing with certain issues. This is not discounting the fact that there are also very good administrators. I've seen both ends of the spectrum.

School rules, while reading like they are tough, impartial, fair and balanced, are often not followed or even enforced. Students and teachers both know this, it's a matter of playing a 'game' to abide by the rules and 'unwritten' rules that really matter.

Us Australian teachers are waiting for the day when we get our first school shooting. It's bound to happen, the question is 'when' rather than 'if'.

If this scum-bag was bullied, then there are other ways to take out your anger, rather than executing all of those people. I'm glad he's dead so that he doesn't cost taxpayers millions of dollars to find him guilty, then keep him in prison. Too bad he never shot himself first and saved the rest.

From one teacher to another... uhm, I don't know about you, but if I wrote up every single incident, I would be staying about 45 minutes later for work at least 3 times a week and if anything positive came out of it, I'm sure my life would well suck by then due to all the extra hours I'd be putting into my work life.

Shoot, I'd rather go back to accounting!!!

There's just no way to determine that....but I think it is a UFO, perhaps the UFO was waiting on him in some way. I think he could have had an ET connection for him to go out like that.

Mate, I totally agree! I know when to turn a blind-eye! I'm not letting my job bury me down in endless paper-trails! I know how to survive with some sense of free-time left over for me to enjoy.

The system is wrong and needs changing.

Yeah, I have to agree. As I said, it was a picture of a War Bird.

To try and infiltrate it, and deflate it, so to speak. Is enigmatics, shining through. I'd expect more to be revealed. As in, who really did no this loner, aka the "?".

this individual cho suffers from alot of mental and pshycological troubles that have caused him to suffer terrible lapses in judgement.
If he viewed such an event he would have blurted it out along with the other rhetoric he produced.
that dot is nothing more than an aircraft traveling in the frame and nothing more. should be pretty simple to see from the color and other distinguishing features that the object viewed in the picture is nothing more than commercial aircraft in a standard flying pattern at the appropiate altitude. there is nothing abnormal or out of the ordinary about this image.

50/50, if you'd actually read the thread, you'd know we aren't discussing aliens or ionized discs or flying humans. We're discussing a sky pic, trying to determine the photo's significance in regard to Cho Seung-Hui's motivation.

— Doc Velocity

Im sorry doc but i was so sickened by what happened at VT im not at all even interested in what is in the sky in that pic. IMO i think it is something from when the photos was scanned to create the PDF. Even if it was something that needed to be looked at more closely there is plenty of time. I personally find it offensive that people will detract from the actual horrific event to find some hidden meaning behind it so soon.

You're right about that one. I'll be clearer next time.

Okay, I'm so far off-topic now that I couldn't find my way back with a roadmap. Sorry.

Don't worry, happens to everybody.

Ow well, we'll just have to wait for the whole manifesto. I want to read was he has written in it. The pictures are boring, one usually "poses" in front of a camera anyway. I didn't watch the videos though. Dial-up...

i can see why the confusion is. it is just some dirt in picture or some thing.

i want to tell the meaning of the picture.

how many of you have seen the movie "elephant" by gus vidos. the movie is based on the columbine killers of 1999.

in the climax one of the shooters points a gun against two people. he moves his gun from one to another. then the movie ends and then it is cut to a beautiful sky and then come the credits over it.

cho should have been inspired by this shot and i think it was exactly captured from the movie.
