My friends, I think people like dan and other cons thrive is because a lot of people don't know any better and become easy prey to them. The more
educated folk can easily detect a fraud. Dan isn't that smart. He's stumbling all over himself the more he talks and the more other people jump in
to support his story.
One thing about human beings, you can't argue against their beliefs, what's in their brains which ultimately translates to heartfelt convictions.
Some people can believe in Santa Claus their whole lives. Or David Blaine, or Nessie. Belief is a human quality that defines our selves even beyond
all reason. Beliefs can unite people and can divide us as well. When there is fear, it renders society vulnerable to those who want to control it.
2012 is a bandwagon, all kinds of opportunists will be on it. Be careful of frauds who claim intelligence, and form your own beliefs well before
committing to them for the rest of your lives. Be kind to other people's thoughts, respect them, but seek the truth for yourself. America has gone
through a history of deceivers, a culture that has spawned many con-artists. The fact is, people are getting very good at it. With the whole world
as a captive audience, the internet has become a breeding ground for brainier frauds. It is not surprising that the next wave of false prophets will
come from bloggers.
Many people make it their lifelong dream to be popular and lead their own flock. People want to be noticed, to be popular, to be celebrities, to be
important, to be the one. Some people want to be rockstars. For whatever reason or intent, they choose to spend their time influencing others to
believe in them. In any society that has class segregations, there will always be someone wanting to be rise above the rest and be amongst those of
the higher class, the rich, the celebrities, the important ones. We should trust what we know about ourselves, our nature, our weaknesses, and beware
of those who try to take advantage of it.
Learn about yourself and the world around you and use your own logic. If your world happens to have someone like Dan Burisch in it, step back and
remember that he is an ordinary human being with his own beliefs, his own wants and needs for a better life. There are many like him. Like you and
I. We all share one simple truth: we're only human. We're in this same world and we can leave it anytime. The question is how we want to spend
the time that is given to us. You can truly help someone and gain nothing from it, or you can become a charismatic preacher who makes a fortune out
of the poor in spirit. Dan made his choice on how he wants to live, you can make yours too.
Human beings should remember to focus on the things that matter. A good heart, a healthy mind and body, a loving family, friends you can trust,
respect mother nature... The rest is secondary. Life can be simple if you choose it to be.
Sincerely,
Anonymous
