Testing my signature
I'm on my 6th "WU" too, in under 24 hours. It's taking 3 and a half to 4 hours to do one. Kind of weird when I have Pentium 4 @ 3.06 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 3 MB internet download... Oh well.

Well done pyxsul!!

Well, SETI@home is very CPU intensive - it *used* to be used by "Personal Computer World" magazine as one of their benchmarks to evaluate computers with...

Here, my 2.6GHz P4 with 512MbRAM takes around 4 hours per WU, so your equipment's performance seems about on par (if you know what I mean).

With luck, and all things being equal, you should get about 8 WU's per day: when I first started running SETI@home in 2001, I was using a P3 233Mhz machine with 128MbRAM - and it took about 35 hours to complete 1WU !!

So, keep that awesome number-crunching machine going pyxyl!!

Hicky!!

Yes, I *kinda* noticed!!

Thanx for joining the team - some have likened it to a "cult" in the past - and they were right!!

Look forward to your posts and comments - on SETI - or whatever you feel like!!

Well done cloudx - and welcome!!

As for multi-WU working, there are quite few threads already in the board, but please look at www.abovetopsecret.com...

to get an overview. Good luck - get "crunching"!!

Just wanted to say WELCOME to ALL those that are new to SETI and those who have been kind enough to share their WU's with The ATS Team.

How long does it take to update results on the ats seti group. I finished a WU and sent the WU but it says I have not finished it.

It can sometimes take a while for it to update. There is a line at the top of the page on the board that tells you when it was last done. I don't think it is done at regular intervals either. Don't worry your units will make it there fairly soon.

Hi cloudx!!

You get instant notification of the number of WU's *you've* completed from the SETI@home client window itself. As pantha says, the ATS SETI@home board does take time to be updated - when it's next updated, your WU's will increase to show those completed up until that time - and so on.

Good job!!

Hi ya A!!

Welcome aboard, as pantha says!!

"Tally ho!"? Now, that's *either* a reference to fox hunting (I live in Leicestershire which has several hunts - no, I don't hunt myself) or a "ripping yarns" war cry of the RAF? "Bandits at 10 o'clock Skipper!!"

Enjoy the team A - thanx for joining us!!
