No disrespect to the initial poster and the questions that were raised but... some of the later pages were hilarious. Haven't have such a good laugh in a long time...

I hate "organized" groups of people. I hate religion. I do not think this thread should be dumped.
Extreme viewpoints, and/or viewpoints that consider others "outside of the club"
to be of lesser value exist.
I know great Jews, and stereotypical ones.
I know great Asians, and stereotypical ones.
I know great African Americans, and sterotypical ones
and so on.....
I am a mutt, living in NYC. I do see many powerful orthodox $$Jews$$ treating others as lesser beings-I have seen alot of this living here.
On the same token, I have been jumped by a Puerto Riccan Gang, and went back to a Chinese grocer with rotten food and got the "Me speak no engrish" line, which I thought was funny as hell because he just had a conversation with someone minutes before in perfect English.
Some harsh generalizations contain some truth. This topic is hard because its very touchy-and EVERYONE needs to be squeaky clean PC.

HAHAHAH Im sorry I actually worked today and missed all the fun this thread has enjoyed. ( perhaps some of the undeserving leeches who live of their rich relatives should go and earn their money )

But I have to add, its good that Jews in here can see the funny side of things...and not like blow up innocent Palestinians or run them over with tanks for a change and have a laugh at their own expense.

I'm not sure how you can blame jews for your having to work hard, nor do I understand how you not going into a family business is the fault of the jews but I'm sure you have somehow managed to take the hand that is dealt you and turn it into the jews' fault.

If it's any consolation, I work from 7 to midnight (at the earliest) 7 days a week this time of year, missing out on things like school events for my kids. It's a real pleasure and it has nothing to do with judaism or any other such thing. Simply put, I work hard because the job entails that I am here for these hours.

I guess I could blame those jesus loving catholics for the fact that I work like I do this time of year. And I guess I can blame the catholics for me missing school events and losing 3 months of my kids' development and maturation.

Out of curiousity, I wonder what Jesus would think if he knew that all these catholics were blaming jews for all the world's ills. I wonder if he would be upset over all this blame being levelled on his religion. Would he take it personally? I mean, if we are going to generalize and blame all the jews for Mazzroths having to work so hard for a non-family business, aren't we, essentially blaming Jesus too?

Look at the whole Mel Gibson "Passion of the Christ" situation. He was 100% blaming the Jews for it and noone batted an eye at that.

Jewish groups complained, mostly about Herr Gibson's use of hook noses and horns on some of the jews and hindsight shows that Mr. Gibson is definitely not a fan of the jews but I agree that the uproar was far less than one would expect. Perhaps this was because we, as jews, knew that we would make fortune on Mr. Gibson's movie and we do control the media and hollywood so all ended well

I don't watch his or Tom Cruise movies anymore.

I have too many other movies on my Netflix Q to keep me busy.

Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, etc. are all the same. You are all adults that believe in fairy tales. Its kinda interesting reading this thread and seeing all you Jews pat each other on the back in an effort to reinforce in each other illogical beliefs.

Somehow being Jew makes it okay to discriminate against gentiles? Because all groups do it? That is the problem with religion besides it all being based on fairy tales taken from previous religions.

Religious fairy tales are fine to teach children right from wrong but like Santa Claus one should re-assess those stories as an adult for what they are: fairy tales. Don't you ever wonder what happened to God once science was discovered and humans no longer needed deities to explain things like thunder, insects, and disease? Did he take a vacation for past few thousand years?

actually, we were mocking the anti-semitic remarks of one poster and making light of the things discussed in the original post. never discriminating against anyone.

And with regards to believing in fairy tales, please don't assume you know what I do and don't believe in and don't make light of other people's system of beliefs. Personally, I don't put much stock in religion in general. In my eyes, it is nothing more than a system of ethics with lots of stories to make those ethics more appealing as a way of life.

I have to agree.

I am actually not very religious. I can't tell you the last time I went to temple and I totally love pork and shell fish...and I really can't fathom going through life without eating a cheese burger...good lord...or lobster! What are you kidding me, that's good food.

But I become incredibly jewish when what is obviously slanted, tainted or just out and out misinformation is thrown about when it comes to the Jewish Faith.

And oddly enough as a white man I seem to become incredibly black or hispanic or asian whenever I encounter racism.

It's not about Political correctness it's about tolerance and understanding.

So lets ask ourselves why are there so many jewish people in executive positions around the world in everything from law to high finance?

Could it be that jewish parents (for the most part) drill into their children that "I don't care what you do but you are going to be educated".

Education, knowledge and applying that education and knowledge in a productive way is at the core of most jewish families that I know.

Also productivity does not equal money either. There are a lot of jewish teachers out there and social workers who make diddly...and let me tell you their parents are proud as punch.

Learn, do something with your life and make it count.

At least that's been my personal experience.

We should also not forget that there are different levels of judaism. Reform, conservative, Orthodox and so on.

I was raised reform, I have cousins who were raised conservative and even had some older uncles and aunts who were orthodox...never once heard any hate speech.

Though my uncles thought my hebrew was crap...and it was.

And do you agree that this kind of partisan attitude is part of the reasoning(if you can call it that) for the persecution of the Jews, I've read how the Nazi's used this as justification for their persecution.

I can't speak for all the J's in the world. I know some Orthadox communities have their own network of stores, schools, Dr's...etc based on them not wanting to mix with others (my opinion only).

The typical Jew on the street has the same kind of clan attitude like the strict orthodox.

I wouldn't go so far to say that the Nazi's had any justification to kill 6 million people for any reason though.

I have met people of all races, religions, creeds..etc that I can't stand so I'm an equale oppurtunity kind of fella.

How I interpret the OP is that he feels it is (almost) unfair the way Jewish players on Wall Street always get the best deals because they have the best connections.

But he ws the one that told us that he makes 4 times as any of us so he must have some connections. Now what if it was the Chinese Mafia that was hooking him up with deals would he be bitching about that??
