EWWW. The person just let the snail lay on his hand? That's disgusting.

I don't see why this would be fake. There are bigs and smalls of every creature. No less believable than a 1200 pound man.

I have an ex-girlfriend who that thing wouldn't stand a chance around. She hated bugs and slimy things.

Damn, thats a big ass snail...Do you think the guy holding it was French and ate it? Looks like itd be more filling than a pair of frog legs.

Dont think he is french because if he was it (snail) would have never got that big

It's probably a giant African snail. The bigger ones are found in Eastern Africa - the Southern Natal species reaches about 10 + centimetres, whereas the Eastern snail can reach up to 20 centimetres (+/- 8 Inches). At one stage they were popular pets in the USA and Europe. This was however made illegal as soon as the potential ecological threat was realized. Imagine an army of these snails heading for your crops... Gulp!!!

My father when he was a young buckaroo, was lining up these giant snails on the front path...

all in a nice row.. My grandma stood at the window smiling thinking

a friend of mine from africa said in here yhome town they found a snail as big as her boyfriends trainer. i dont know how big his feet were but even the smallest feet would make a big snail

Wow! I have never seen one of those! That thing is huge! It almost looks fake! I used to collect the small ones and race them!! I think that one would win!

Well,I know they can get to softball sized. My ex-girlfriend found one out in her dad's shed that was at least as big as a softball. She smashed it with a hammer, not a pretty sight. Anyway, yeah, they can get pretty big.

It would take about 3 pounds of butter and about 30 cloves of garlic before I ate that thing.

I think it is fake. The snail looks superimposed - it seems to "float" over the arm at times.

Maybe they should start feeding a staedy diet of those gigantic snails to that 200lb 8 year old kid. I bet he'd start losing alot of weight. How many of those things do you think you'd eat before swearing off food?

I used to keep african land snails as pets a few years back. The biggest one was about 8 inches long with a shell the size of an orange. "Curly" was so huge his little eyes were clearly visible and his eye-stalks would pop up when I called him! He could open the lid of his vivarium and would often go exploring. However the slime trail was vast so it wasnt hard to find him !

I wonder if a snail gets that large would it be too rubbery to eat?
