What is honestly wrong with liking weapons? Back in medieval times the use of a weapon was an art, and it remains so to this day... and Everyone likes art right? Weapons and their use is just another form of art. And the Katana and the way it is weilded is one of the most beautiful things around

Not everyone likes art and use of weapon is not an art.

Nothing is wrong with liking weapons, I guess you are entitled to your oppinion.

In my oppinion, weapon is just the tool used by man for destruction, nothing else.

Actually although it was a great airplane the mustang was introduced too late to have any difinitive effect, so say the historians...now the P-47 is a different story...

Tell that to all of the American aircrews that were saved from the hot lead of the Luftwaffe by the Tuskeegee Airmen flying P-51D's. THEY NEVER LOST A BOMBER THEY WERE ESCORTING.

The ME262 has to be one of the most beautiful weapons of war ever. This is the one that ushered in the jet age. War in the air would never be the same again. What truly proves the timeless beauty of this plane is that THEY ARE STILL BEING MANUFACTURED TODAY.

How could I forget? I knew I had the answer to this that just about noone could refuse: The Oseberg Ship. Just look. See those lines, and smell it's perfection. Remember that this ship was built while the rest of the world was still paddling on rafts, while these guys crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Need I say more.....

What a beauty! That's a SHIP!!!!

id have to say that this is the most beautiful weapon of war ever was the The Samurai and his sword

The weapons and armour of the Samurai were quite unique. Developed over many centuries, the armour was far more decorative than that worn by European or Middle Eastern warriors of the period. Samurai weapons are well-known for their superb construction, especially the swords, which were without doubt the finest ever made.

During the Azuchi-Momoyama Period, Toyotomi Hideyoshi orbade anyone but the samurai to arm themselves with a sword, with the exception of the Shogun.

The Katana (long sword) and Wakizashi (short sword), known as "Daisho," were for the exclusive use of the warrior sect and were the soul of the Samurai. Inside the home, the Katana was kept in a support whilst the Wakizashi was worn on the person. The wakizashi was sometimes a preferred choice for seppuku. Both swords were used in battle.

A Samurai sword consists of a blade made by covering a soft iron core with layers of steel, and a hilt often made from wood covered with fish skin and bound with flat braid. The blade was protected by a scabbard (saya) of lacquered wood.

The dagger (Tanto) was also used in the ritual of seppuku and was the only weapon which could be used by women and merchants. A small knife known as the kozuka and a skewer, the the kogai, were carried either side of tanto scabbards.

At that time, the most valued gift that a Shogun or Daimyo could present to a Samurai was a Samurai sword. Today it is still the custom in Japan to make a gift of a Samurai sword on special occasions, as a reminder and respect for the past.

And by the way: This is a sword:

This sword is a so called gaddhjalt or "spike hilt" because of the spikes on the guard. Useful in close combat and quick ends. Probably quite difficult to learn how to utilise it fully. But a beautiful piece of weaponry it is.

I was talking about using the spikes perfectly in close combat without cutting your own wrist trying for instance. But I have to say that the old Japanese were master blacksmiths. I doubt you could find a better allround sword than the Samuraisword. Unless ofcourse you have a 150 kilo heavy furry viking with a six kilo sword in one hand and a bloody bard in the other high on mjd and shrooms whose highest wish in the world is to die with and by his sword after having killed more men than any viking before him. If you had cannons you would have run for your life praying.

They had a word for that back then: Berserkrgangr. In Iceland they still call that mushroom they used berserkrsoppur. In Norway it's called fleinsopp. I don't know the English name for it, but that's one trippy shroom. '___' go home....

Isn't the phrase "beautiful weapon" an oxymoron? Weapons are intended to hurt people, and nothing else. Nothing good ultimatley comes from weapons. Pain, hurt, distruction, intimidation, fear. That's about it. Unless you're like a sadistic serial killer, or have depression, none of these things are beautiful.
To say a weapon is beautiful is mearly to fall mercy to the weapon that is th eidea of weapons. You buy into the violince thing and that "Might is Right". It's not a positive message, or a nice one. In these times of deciet and lies we need peace signe, not guns. Perhaps it should be "What is the most beautiful wayt tyo express peace and happiness" instead or a weapon.
